  7. The levy on energy bills is a net-zero poll tax. 26 June 2023.

    A green levy of £170 is to be reimposed next month on household energy bills to support the development of renewables. The charge was suspended last autumn for two years and the cost shifted on to general taxes. The levy was considered regressive because its cost would fall disproportionately on the less well-off. A time of high inflation and soaring bills is hardly when to impose a net-zero poll tax on households.

    The only way out of this madness and oppression is revolution.

In the end there is nothing ‘special’ about us. We grabbed the laurels from the heads of our ancestors with alacrity and did nothing to contribute. The price of liberty is eternal vigilance.

    5. Privatised profits, socialised losses. This is why unreliable must not receive a penny of public money. No rigged price of sale, no rigged subsidy, no fixed returns. If the wind doesn’t blow, they don’t have anything to sell and they make a loss. If they cannot survive in the market then they cannot survive. Forcing the tax payer to adsorb their costs is just disgusting.

      The state continues to refuse to accept that high energy costs are a massive factor in inflation. It’s a staggering deceit.

    I’m impressed because the TQT study in drug testing was brought in to avoid the risk of harm through adversely altering the heart’s rhythm and I reckoned that not many doctors nor pharmacists would know about it.

    Well now I do know now that the evidence of why I nearly died is still there on the internet and it hasn’t been entirely covered up or disappeared in the interest of promoting repurposed drugs.

  16. Russian agents’ threat to family made Prigozhin call off Moscow advance. 26 June 2023.

    Russian intelligence services threatened to harm the families of Wagner leaders before Yevgeny Prigozhin called off his advance on Moscow, according to UK security sources.

    There is absolutely no evidence offered to support this assertion and two paragraphs later the writer is talking about a deal. This aside it beggars belief that Prigozin would set out on his adventure without first ensuring the safety of his family. An essential one would have thought for a revolutionary.

    The propaganda about Russia is becoming increasingly unhinged. One suspects that this is due to the failure of the Ukie Counter-Attack and the realisation that its success, for whatever reason, is not possible.

    Well, had a very immediate experience of why you should not walk dogs on hot pavements.
    Stepped out barefoot onto the Dower House terrace yesterday afternoon and thought I was fire walking.

    1. I hit 30+ degrees yesterday. I walk the floofs just at dawn and it was very warm then, simply because the ground lets all the heat out overnight.

      Thankfully we can nip through the tree bit for a while and get some shade then, but it’s still too damned hot.

        Ultimately I do not believe it will be left to those running the enquiry to pick & mix what questions can & cannot be answered.
        The issue is far too important the peoples surely want honest interim reports, and eventually an
        honest closure.

        The deaths & injuries are an ongoing concern, and answers must be given, these past odious actions cannot be carried into the future.

    As several BTLiners suggested with 1,000,000 homeless immigrants coming to Britain each year William’s ‘life work to end homelessness’ cannot possibly be realised. But if he is going to try at least he could start insisting that those who arrive illegally are expelled immediately and homeless ex-servicemen are at the top of his list for housing?

      1. That will make the best headlines, so they probably will. But they won’t solve homelessness. The more free facilities they provide, the more homeless will turn up to take advantage of them.

    2. I helped at the homeless shelter at my local church a few years ago. At the time there was a real need but our council now, maybe as a result of these shelters, takes on responsibility for housing the homeless so they stopped and have not restarted after Covid. This is a completely different situation to the migrant things, which wasn’t really an issue back then. I support the Prince’s aim to stamp out the traditional homelessness but he should not be taking this line on migrants, refugees or not.

      You probably didn’t know that last week was Refugee Week – https://refugeeweek.org.uk – no, I had never heard of this organisation either but we had a prayer session for them at our church yesterday. I guess there are indeed genuine refugees but the masses we are seeing in our land are very different and I certainly couldn’t support them in a prayer session.

      1. There is a genial ‘Big Issue’ seller in Great Malvern. I’ve seen the same man at his pitch for over twenty years. How could he have been homeless all this time?

        I used to buy the magazine when it was written and edited by the homeless, but it soon became only prepared to push celebrity & lifestyle, which are of no interest to me. I also wonder whether the vendors are truly homeless, rather than living conventional lives just like any street vendor.

        The problem I have with refugees is the incapacity of our border agencies to examine the character of those arriving before making a decision what they are. I have heard so many stories of organised criminals and even Wagner-style fifth columnists to be installed into sleeper cells using the refugee route to gain favoured access to our society.

        What is even worse is that they will calmly and coolly put the genuine refugees in the hold before scuttling the boat, leaving just the cuckoo villains to take over the nest. How many women and real children actually make it out of Muslim countries anyway? Aren’t they useful collateral as slaves in their homeland? Yet I never see that particular statue being toppled, lest it be deemed “islamophobic”, which is of course a hate crime here.

        1. After the legal decision, made at the behest of a Romanian Gimmegrant, that Big Issue sellers were self employed and thus eligible for extra benefits, in many areas the sales are controlled by gangs of Romanian Roma.

        2. I stopped buying the Big Issue years ago when I saw our neighbour selling it!
          Complicated and dishonest setup where his girlfriend was getting the council to buy her flat for her via housing benefit. Both drug addicts. Child born with complications, would have died without immediate and very costly surgery. Stole stuff, including from us. Carted off to rehab eventually, I do not know what became of him after that.

It simply means that councils have to stop their rigging of housing applications for their own benefit, we must withdraw from the HRA, migration pact and ECHR. What! You cry. These are good things! No, they are not. They hamstring us to an appalling commitment to support the world at our own expense.

      By removing acres of legislation we could remove those here illegally and house those who need help – because they don’t just need a home, many need psychological help – just like the trans people.

      Society is broken because far too many people are taking far too much out – every single teenage mother breeding for cash, for example. The muslim population is 70% entirely welfare dependent. They could work, they just don’t want to. This must change. To do good, we must be cruel. I don’t believe you’ve the bottle to raise that fact.

      There is a programme on morning BBC TV called Homes under the hammer Derelict homes or homes that just need TLC an even offices appear to be bought by darkies or similar at Auction , the buyers appear to have so much money and talent .

      Generally speaking , these homes are converted for multi occupancy , and are probably let out to tenants on the council list or let out privately .

      I hear that William will be as meddlesome as his father , who has turfed people out of Crown property and duchy land .

      William must realise that migrant families are huge , they don’t just have 3 children , but eight or more and many sets of twins .

      Families bring cultural problems as their children grow up . I doubt that on many areas of Duchy land , current residents will not be happy with the problems that so many dysfunctional families inflict on neighbourhoods.

Now that there will be the habitual abandonment of tents at Glastonbury, why don’t the government bus the incomers to this free accommodation and set up a couple of burger vans to feed the masses? As a bonus, there’s a surrounding fence – with watchtowers – to protect the poor souls from any crazed right wingers looking for a backlash.

    1. By law, we pay through our taxes for the teacher to disseminate doctrine, not to create a generation of liberal (and I use that word in its proper sense) free thinkers. It suppresses wages, removes the need to invest, makes jobs insecure (as the labour pool is so much bigger), reduces the bargaining position of employees, adds to welfare (because every job a foreigner gets is one a local can’t have), removes the incentive for training and investment by business.

    The BBC has been accused of anti-Conservative bias after Rishi Sunak was branded a “mendacious narcissistic sociopath” on the broadcaster’s flagship Sunday politics show. Comedian Ben Elton said the Prime Minister was “dripping with vanity” when he urged cash-strapped Britons to hold their nerve over interest rate hikes and stressed there was “no alternative” but to stamp out inflation in an interview, with host Laura Kuenssberg.

    A Tory source claimed producers had deliberately invited “anti-Conservative people from the arts world” to make “personal insults” about party members, which were then packaged up and “pushed out on social media”. Tory MP Paul Bristow also criticised the comedian, claiming he was part of a “North London ‘champagne socialist’ clique”.

    Elton criticised Mr Sunak for delivering what he called an “extraordinary Orwellian, meaningless, evasive word salad”.

    “I sort of believed maybe he’s kind of a bit more decent, and it turns out, he’s as much of a mendacious, narcissistic sociopath as his previous boss,” he said.

    “This man literally, he seemed to be making a principle of the fact that he resigned from a government that he’d served loyally and tried to keep propped up for numerous years. He’s trying to boast about having worried about inflation while he was chancellor of the exchequer under Johnson. “He seems to act as if being born into Downing Street six months ago was a miracle birth. No – he was a part of a 13-year cycle which has got us to this point.”

    He added: “He’s the Prime Minister. He owes us honesty but we got nothing but mendacity, evasion and vanity, just dripping with vanity.”

    In his interview with Kuenssberg, broadcast during Sunday’s show, Mr Sunak said that “inflation is the enemy” and defended the Bank of England’s decision to raise interest rates to a 15-year high last week, piling pressure on mortgage-holders.

    The Tory source said: “It’s a conscious decision by BBC producers to invite anti-Conservative people from the arts world to make personal insults about Tories. It’s all packaged up afterwards and then pushed out on social media. Licence fee payers want to see guests who can provide actual analysis on important issues, not just throw around petty personal jibes. It’s not surprising that viewers are switching off.”

    Mr Bristow told The Telegraph: “Quite why the BBC thinks it relevant to broadcast to the nation what Ben Elton thinks is beyond me. He is part of the same North London ‘champagne socialist’ clique that appear periodically to espouse their Left-wing and anti-Brexit credentials to a bored country. They have about as much in common with working people as a £12.50 avocado on toast breakfast.”

    A BBC spokesman said: “We feature a wide range of guests and opinions across the series and ensure we meet our due impartiality commitments.”

    The remarks were part of a discussion with former Conservative special adviser Luke Tryl, now UK director of More in Common, and activist Marina Litvinenko.

The power that Artificial Intelligence provides to humans is incredible and it has already confirmed my suspicions that unsolicited treatments that I have undergone under the NHS could have been safer if medical professionals had been able to seek alternative courses of action through the use of a natural language interface like ChatGPT.

      1. The problem with AI is that you have to be an expert in your field to identify that an answer to your question is possibly fake. AI driven applications have to be trained on something and there’s the rub.

            The first two were already on their ends propped against the end of the Folly so it was a case of balancing them of their sides and applying enough force to push them over onto the next side, effectively rolling them down the steps and along the narrow passage at the back of the house.
            Once on the level, using a couple of short lengths of 1½” timber as a fulcrum under each side in turn greatly reduced the amount of force I had to apply.

            It’s all down to technique!

The incomes of more than 200,000 workers with children are below the social security poverty line.

    INEQUALITY between the rich and the rest remained as great as ever.     1. It’s pretty well true of our little country lane as well – half the hill has been closed for the last three weeks while contractors put in the pipework for full fibre internet. Now the bottom half has reopened but the top half is closed off and we can’t get out of our drive even if we wanted to. They’ve parked the digger right behind the car so we’re blocked in.

      1. I am not looking forward to trying to get to my RAFA meeting on Monday. The part of my road that connects to the main road will be shut. I suspect that “sorry for any inconvenience” won’t be going down well!

    2. We have had two bridges to the mainland closed for repairs with the other one being resurfaced. Sods law said that the ferry service would be interrupted and it was.

    1. It is the ECHR, HRA, migration pact – all EU policies. We could repeal them. The state refuses to.

      1. ECHR is independent of, and isn’t anything to do with the EU policy, although EU policy is to incorporate ECHR judgments into their own countries. We can still leave, though.

        HRA was an internal law promoted by Blair (and no doubt especially backed by his wife, who set up Matrix Chambers which was primarily a Human Rights chambers). That can easily be repealed – we didn’t need it in the first place.

        Migration pact was a combination of things – May signed this country into the Barcelona Agreement which was an EU-promoted agreement, even though she knew we were leaving the EU (which makes that signing especially treasonous). However, even under the old EU system, Merkel unilaterally ignored the provisions of the Dublin Accord to give open doors for migrants. Typical Germanic roughshod riding over the rest of the EU.

        But yes – we can withdraw from all of them – and yes the governments refuse to.

    3. I’ve said before and will say again. We would do ourselves a favour if we ditch Broon’s levy on ling-haul flights and encourage Brits to holiday in UK-friend(lier) places than the EU. And at the same time raise the tax on short haul overseas flights, because (for example) trains. In a stroke the number of Brits holidaying in the EU will plummet but those travelling to Turkey, the Caribbean, Dubai etc will increase.

      Well, i think it’s a great idea.

      1. As far as I know, it’ll be a CT (computerised Tomography) scan of the face to assess the current, likely, damage and what future is required but I’m no medical expert.

        It’s why Ann needs all the luck in the world and our heart-felt support. Go Ann.

        1. Thanks for filling me in. As you say, we are all behind Ann. We can but hope the scan shows less damage than the medics initially thought.
          I am facing Mohs on 2, possibly 3, facial lesions but there is no suggestion that mine are anything like Ann’s. For that, I am thankful.

      2. CT scan to make sure it hasn’t spread to my lungs. MRI revealed the extent of the cancer’s spread.

  93. I’ll be off in a few minutes, not done much today, but I managed to get our three rubbish bins out side for the good old boys to empty in the morning.

        1. Wednesday is the proper day for bin collection. The difficult part is trying to remember which bins of the four we have to put out.

          1. Ours used to be collected onThursdays. Then, for no reason I could discern, it was changed to Wednesdays. I have to put the bin out the day before or it would never be collected. I am not a morning person!

  94. During the ‘lockdowns’ I was classed as a key worker, as I worked in hospitals, food factories, and power stations (etc).
    At the weekends I didn’t consider the lockdown regime to apply to me for a different reason, mainly that as a British citizen my government doesn’t tell me when I can or cannot leave my home.
    I WILL DAMNED WELL DECIDE.

    1. We just lived our life as usual. It is fairly easy to do when one lives rurally. And I never realised it was a one way street around the supermarkets until it was all over.

  95. Nothing in MSM regarding Biden’s flat rejection of Sunak’s promotion of Ben Wallace for Director General of NATO to succeed Stoltenberg.

    I suppose the lesson here for Sunak and his slobbering ilk is that no amount of arse licking and boot licking of the Biden administration will alter the fact that Biden has always and will always hate and despise the UK.

    Many of us in the UK are wondering why with our failing economy, a rental and mortgage crisis, rampant inflation in food prices and services, energy costs spiralling and many unable to put away savings to even enter the housing market, we are left with an utterly unconvincing ferret-faced rat-bodied Prime Minister who appears ignorant to our collective predicament.

    The little shit ignored the plight of the UK citizen whilst accommodating access to the country of a million or more illegals and whilst shovelling billions of pounds that we do not have down the throat of his ridiculous comrade in arms Zelensky.

    I should add that friends of ours who took in a family of Ukrainians are hoping that they will return to Ukraine soon. There is only so much that even the kindest and most generous of our people can take.

    Is it just me or does anyone else think that Sunak is merely unintelligent and like me left wondering how on Earth this diminutive fool ever made it to Downing Street.

    1. Sunak wasn’t elected after offering a manifesto and campaigning on its merits: that’s not to say that the likes of May and Johnson were determined to follow their manifesto promises but they had placed themselves in the shop window of national politics.
      Sunak was placed into No 10 to push the scams of Net Zero, mass Third World immigration (legal or otherwise), digital currency, 15 minute neighbourhoods, reduction in farming capacity etc. that appear to be the policies being proposed across the Western World. It is no mystery that these policies accord with the Davos shower’s statements of intent.
      Where exactly does Sunak’s allegiance lay?

        1. I assumed that that was the case.
          I’m only aware of the effect of how such well meant sentiments can underline what is about to happen to the individual, because of it happening to people I cared for deeply and made them focus on the bad side rather than the encouragement intended.

          It’s very sad that such a lovely person is having so many brickbats all arriving simultaneously both to her and her husband.
