Good morning, chums. And thanks, Geoff, for today's new NoTTLe site. Alas, I didn't make today's Wordle at all. But at least I was first to post.
Oh dear!
Good morning Elsie and all
Certainly a LOT of possibilities today!

At least you got a Par, BB2. (Good morning, btw.)
Pure luck!
Frustratingly, I have days when I career through the cryptic crossword, and others when I'm an absolute dud.
I don't know if it's brain malfunction or whether it's the compiler and I are just not on the same wavelength.
The Thursday one has always been a stinker; I've finished it precisely once over the years. Maybe it's now psychological; I know it's Thursday and am defeated before I start.
There was a time when for years when I used to plough through both crosswords with ease ..
Either settling down in the evening when I stopped having the DT delivered , or the early days when I felt fresher in the morning when it was delivered .
Since Happy parrot is no longer here with us ( I used the DT as a fresh base for his large cage , the last broadsheet spread out ) I hardly ever buy the DT, and both Moh and I are shocked to smithereens by how our brains are deteriorating / malfunctioning ..at a frightening rate of knots .
When my two younger sisters visited from SA in May , the younger 74 year old sister , whistled through the cryptic .. she even compiles crosswords , and is still an adept shorthand note writer!
Verse in my old childhood autograph book
Can't think, brain numb.
Inspiration won't come.
Can't write, bad pen.
Best wishes, Amen.
I'm sure posting on NOTTL keeps the little grey cells turning over.
My inborn talent for bitchiness has been honed to perfection thanks to this site.
My dad says the same. I will try to remember to ask him – there’s definitely one day he can’t do and he’s always moaning about it!!!
I usually finish it by 11am but I always finish it
20 minutes today !

Delicious with double cream, Annie. Lol.

Definitely a wavelength thing for me. I could always tell compilers apart because of the way I laughed when I got their clues. DT generally, but there was one in the Graun called Araucaria whose puzzles delighted me.

Somehow Trump seems to have forgotten the US air strikes, as well as this
(from Silver Academy substack)
"However, the recent escalation in hostilities between Israel and Iran has dramatically shifted the narrative. Over the past week, Iran has launched multiple ballistic missile strikes targeting major Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv and Haifa, causing significant destruction and civilian casualties. In fact, just 4 business days ago Iran flattened Israel’s stock exchange ( which everyone knows is just the after hours trading desk for Wall street and the Military industrial complex)
Despite Israel’s advanced defense systems, the scale of the Iranian attacks and the visible damage to Israeli infrastructure have undermined confidence in the invulnerability of the Israeli home front."
The only difference between Trump and other US presidents is that Trump doesn't seem to care if his dishonesty is visible to all, whereas others just stole and looted undercover. Apparently a lot of US politicians bought shares shortly before the airstrikes, which have made them a profit.
He does what he says. Head and shoulders above the rest.
Not how I see it.
I think the Americans only want peace because Iran struck back more strongly than they thought it would. No walking in like they did in Iraq. It’s all a bit of a sh*show, and the stuff going on at home in the US is pretty dark.
Blimey. Even The Lord will be kept busy blessing all those folk.
Michael deacon on form again:
“the next time the Government tells you it’s strapped for cash, remember the following fact. Last week, it appointed the nation’s first ever Windrush Commissioner. Rev Clive Foster’s job, says the Home Office, will be to “drive the cultural change, accountability and justice the Windrush generations deserve”.
What precisely this means, I’m afraid I don’t know. What I do know, however, is that he’ll be paid a salary of up to £130,000.
Still, Sir Keir Starmer clearly thinks it will be money well spent. Because on Sunday, to honour “Windrush Day”, he proclaimed that his Government would “never forget the legacy of the Windrush generation” – because they were the people who “laid the foundations for modern Britain”.
Were they? If so, it was a quite astonishing feat. When HMT Empire Windrush arrived from the Caribbean in 1948, she was carrying a grand total of 802 migrants. How extraordinary that such a tiny number should manage to “lay the foundations for modern Britain” – while the 50 million people already living here presumably just sat on their worthless backsides and did nothing, as usual.
You may wonder why Sir Keir is so eager to distort our nation’s history in this curious fashion. Is he just wildly overcompensating for the Windrush scandal of the 2010s, which saw several dozen people wrongly deported? Or is he desperately sucking up to the more deranged of his party members, who recently decided he’s the reincarnation of Enoch Powell?
Whatever his motive, he’s far from alone in swallowing the Windrush myth. On Facebook, Natasha Irons – the Labour MP for Croydon East – wrote: “You called… and we came.”
A lovely sentiment. But only half true. The UK government of 1948 did not “call”; it expressly wanted migrants from Europe. Arthur Creech Jones, minister for the Colonies, wrote an internal memo firmly stressing that “these influxes” from the Caribbean were “certainly not organised or encouraged by the Colonial Office”. Indeed, “every possible step has been taken” to “discourage” them.
Funnily enough, Mr Creech Jones’s government was a Labour one. Maybe that’s the reason why Sir Keir is so gushing about Windrush: he’s embarrassed.
===============
Support for Nigel Farage’s Reform UK continues to surge – while Left-wing alternatives are struggling to compete. Why is this? Zack Polanski, who’s standing for the leadership of the Green Party, believes that it’s because Right-wingers enjoy a key natural advantage. Basically: they’re liars. Interviewed on The Rundown,a political podcast, Mr Polanski argues that political campaigning is “easier if you’re on the Right” because you can “just tell lies” or “just tell an emotive story”. People on the Left, by contrast, prefer to base their campaigning “on facts and information”.
Well, there’s certainly no denying that. After all, if there’s one thing that Left-wing campaigners are famous for, it’s their rigorous adherence to factual accuracy. You’ll never catch them resorting to emotional manipulation or peddling baseless conspiracy theories.
I’ve always admired them for it. Especially during the several decades they spent relentlessly claiming that the Tories were about to privatise Our NHS, any moment now.
Of course, their commitment to rational, evidence-based argument remains every bit as resolute today. We see it in the Western LGBTQIA+ activists protesting in defence of Iran, a country that hangs gay people from cranes. And we see it in the many prominent Left-wingers insisting that Palestine Action mustn’t be proscribed by the UK Government, because breaking into a military base and causing over £30million worth of damage to aircraft, thus weakening this country’s defences, can’t possibly be classified as terrorism.
Indeed, if I had to pinpoint the defining characteristic of the modern progressive mindset, I would say it’s a cool-headed, clear-sighted embrace of common sense. That’s always my first thought, any time Left-wing activists argue that it’s racist to say women don’t have penises, or attempt to save the planet by tearfully glueing their buttocks to the M25.
In Mr Polanski’s opinion, however, progressive campaigners need to adapt their approach, if they wish to “cut through” with the public. The Green Party, he says, must get better at “telling a powerful story”.
In which case, he’s surely the perfect man to be its leader. Let us never forget that 12 years ago, when Mr Polanski was working as a Harley Street hypnotherapist, he told a female journalist from The Sun newspaper that, by harnessing the powers of her unconscious mind, he could help make her breasts grow bigger.
If that doesn’t demonstrate a gift for powerful storytelling, I don’t know what does.
Beat me to it. Michael Deacon gets better and better.
His humour has developed a nice edge to it.
Agree! I used to think he was a Leftist Liberal but he’s really moved in the past 10 years.
Good morning, everyone.
Good morning.
Morning All – it's a damp and grey start today. I don't think we had much rain.
Good morning, Ndovu. Unfortunately, it's raining here today, so no chance of my fortnightly gardener calling to tidy up my own garden. Nevertheless at least the rain is helping my gooseberries to grow, which will eventually result in a lovely gooseberry crumble. And today's indoor jobs will include making some more Bolognese sauce for my weekly Saturday night "treat" of Spaghetti Bolognese with a glass of Chilean Merlot wine and a dessert of berries with double cream. Yummy!
Our garden has been like a dustbowl this year so the rain is welcome.
Dinner sounds good.
You spoil us, Ambassador.
Good morning, Annie. I only spoil you (and YB of course) with Argentinian Malbec. My own favourite tipple is, as you know, Chilean Merlot. (I do hope Korky the Kat is taking note of this.) I wonder what is the favourite tipple for the British Tango dancer from Buenos Aires?
As long at Katie has an Argentine tango dancer, I don't think she's too fussed.
I feel seen. 🤣🤣
Depends where I am, but the connecting factor appears to be that which I cannot possibly afford but am generously treated to. 🤣🤣
Over the years I have revelled in the big bold reds of Italy, sipped an amazing pre-war vintage in a cave in Armagnac (a happy accident; I just got talking to the owner), and most recently got treated to some stonking Malbec by a generous American who was happy that he didn't have to pay 120 dollars to enjoy good wine. 🙂
Happily, decent wine is one of the things that are still relatively cheap here. Of course, now I dance too much to indulge regularly! Sod's law!
"Over the years I have revelled in the big bold reds of Italy…"
Amarone is an experience – if you're up for £40 a bottle…

Do your rain dance here please .

Morning, all Y'all. Overcast, not terrifically warm.
Good morning, all. Surprise, surprise, it's lashing down here. First spots around 05:45 and now my water butts will be filling nicely and I will not have to water anything in the garden.
Dangerous nonsense created to antagonise people going about their business. I do not mean just the idiot sitting in the road but whoever was responsible for controlling the MET police's lack of action when the law was clearly being broken.
One BTL comment mentions that a FOI claim should be filed to expose who was responsible for not upholding the law and allowing chaos in a busy area of London. What would the police on site have done if an emergency vehicle required access?

Good Morning Folks,
Cloudy start here.
Trump is always one step ahead of our TDS mainstream media, making announcements late at night American time, far too late for our newspapers and our lefty negative spin legacy media to put a downer on it.
Of course keeping our Labour administration out of the loop helps too.

Not on ours that's for sure.
I don't trust them either.

Phew!
Just finished that
IslamophopbiaIslamorealism response. If anyone wishes to use my answers as a template, here are the relevant bits:-
On the 1st answer page I use the term Islamorealism.
Question 7
Why is Islam the only major religion to have it's own, ~ophobia?
Is it racism?
Why no Sikhophobia, Hindophobia or Buddhistophobia?
Why does Islam engender ill will not felt towards the other religions?
Other religions that do not have a tendency to blow themselves up in pop concerts.
Manchester Arena, The Bataclan, church bombings in Sri Lanka for example.
Nor, do they take part in gang organised sexual exploitation & trafficking of young girls.
Even Muslims are not safe as we saw with the murder of the Glasgow newsagent.
The problem is not with the "Islamophobes" but within Islam its self.
Question 9
Leaving aside the actions of extreme Islamists, it is often the actions of Muslims themselves that engender the feelings of distrust and fear.
A statutory definition of "Islamophobia" would inhibit legitimate discussion of much that is wrong within parts of the Muslim Community.
Also, there is much in the Koran that should be open to valid criticism and Muslims should recognise and accept that as a fact instead of being so quick to take offence.
They should also recognise and accept Britain's Christian Heritage and not allow their leaders to talk about imposing Islam on the whole country.
Question 11
Why is Islam the only major religion to have it's own, personal ~ophobia? Is it REALLY due to racism?
Why does no other belief have such a suffix or slur added to its name?
Why is there no Sikhophobia, Hindophobia, Jainophobia nor Buddhistophobia?
What is it about Islam that engenders ill feeling not felt towards the other religions?
Take a broader, world wide look at the actions of Islamists in the wider world.
Do the followers of those other religions have a tendency to blow themselves up in pop concerts or church services?
The Manchester Arena Bombing, the murder and mutilation of concert goers at The Bataclan or Church bombings in Sri Lanka for example.
Nor, do they take part in the gang organised rape, sexual exploitation & trafficking of young girls.
Even Muslims themselves are not safe from Islamic attacks.
The horrendous attack on the Rawda Mosque and the murder of the Glasgow newsagent.
Perhaps the problem lies not with the so called "Islamophobes" but within Islam its self?
Question 13
Drop the whole idea all together.
Any distrust. fear or dislike of Muslims is almost entirely due to the actions of their own co-religionists.
The UK does not currently have laws against Blasphemy, but this measure will not only impose such a measure in by the back door, but will only impose it for one specific religion,
THAT MUST NEVER BE ALLOWED TO HAPPEN.
Great answers, echoing my own. I definitely questioned why we needed it and who was pushing it.
700 strong Muslim Network in the Home Office alone. There are other government departments.
They obviously have an adgenda that is not based on any form of human kindness or respect for other peoples existence.
It must never be allowed to happen.
408145+ up ticks,
Morning and well penned Bob.
Though they don't require your email they could find you through your IP address. Unless you used a VPN.
Labour will undoubtedly make their definition of Islamophobia legally binding so anyone found guilty of Islamophobia will be tried and probably imprisoned.
WILL THE CONSERVATIVE, LIB/DEM AND REFORM PARTIES UNDERTAKE TO ABOLISH THE DEFINITION AND LAWS ABOUT ISLAMOPHOBIA ON THEIR FIRST DAY IN OFFICE?
Of course not. What world are you living in?
Could you please give a link to the survey?
Islamophobia/Anti-Muslim Hatred Definition Working Group – call for evidence
Many thanks, William.
Apparently it was leaked. It wasn’t meant to be open to all! Matt Goodwin pointed that out.
If numerous replies appear to be very similar against such a law they will all be discounted as organised by the FAAAAR right.
If numerous posts in favour are similar they will be accepted without question.
The 'fear' of muslim is not irrational (that being the definition of phobia). They are insane savages.
However it'd be far simpler to never have to be bothered by hem by ensuring the vermin never get here, and to simply remove those who are here. Imagine how much better off the country would be if muslim had never been permitted a toehold?
Under the racist question I pointed out it’s an ideology not a race and when they asked for instances of violence against muzzies I said I didn’t know of any but I had plenty of evidence of violence perpetrated by them.
Morning all 🙂😊

“Sir – Opponents of the assisted dying Bill are all crying foul now that it has passed through the House of Commons.
Your Leading Article (June 21) was aghast that nearly 10 per cent of deaths in Canada are now “assisted”. Could this possibly be because the majority of the population is in favour of simple compassion?
S Marco (Letters, June 21) writes that, in 25 years working in a hospice, he has seen several family members and friends die peacefully, without pain. I would suspect that he saw many more patients who didn’t – and there are, of course, plenty of people who do not get the benefit of access to a palliative care facility.
On the same page, Keith Phair says that there should be a national referendum on the issue. Is he aware that repeated polls have shown that about 75 per cent of the population think that assisted dying should be legal in principle?
For once, Parliament has reflected the will of the people. It should now make every effort to ensure that the law is enacted as soon as possible.
Chris and Ray Knight”
Thaxted, Essex
It isn’t “simple compassion “, though, is it? The safeguards seem to have been left out.
Around 40% of voters did not vote at the last GE. We all need to do a big push on getting those we know to get out and vote. It's what other politically motivated communities do and we have to do the same. We really need to encourage the mindset that it our patriotic duty to vote. And the postal vote is so easy for those who are too busy with work or are housebound – just apply for it a few weeks in advance and send it in a week or so before. If every Reform member did a soft reminder to all those they know the result would be very much in our favour, I think.
'Labour fears Farage because he speaks to one of the largest and most overlooked voting blocs in British politics – the millions who no longer vote at all.'
Nahh. Revoke universal franchise. I don't see why a scrote living on welfare should get a say.
They’d likely vote Reform.
Emmanuel Macron has branded Donald Trump’s air strikes against Iran “illegal”.
The French president said it could be considered legitimate to bomb nuclear facilities that pose a potential threat but that there was no legal framework, so strikes conducted by the United States and Israel were not legal.
His intervention came as Sir Keir Starmer and a succession of ministers declined to explicitly state the US president had acted within international law or in a correct manner.
Sir Keir was warned by Lord Hermer, his Attorney General, last week that joining a US attack on Iran could breach international law. However, the Prime Minister is coming under increasing pressure to “get off the fence” and say whether the UK backs Mr Trump’s action.

Convicted paedophile blew up fake BBC van in film set explosion
Jacky Jhaj, who was jailed for four years in 2016 for sexual activity with two 15-year-old girls, arranged the stunt
Will Bolton02 September 2024 8:24pm BST
Fire
The London Fire Brigade said it sent 25 firefighters and four fire engines to the scene
Crime correspondent
A convicted paedophile organised a film shoot near the O2 Arena featuring a “controlled explosion” that destroyed a fake BBC lorry.
Jacky Jhaj, who was jailed for four years in 2016 for sexual activity with two 15-year-old girls, arranged the stunt that shocked residents and prompted an emergency response.
The explosion occurred on Aug 31 after a previous shoot on Aug 24 was halted when crew discovered Jhaj’s conviction.
The 38-year-old, who is awaiting trial on further charges, has repeatedly posed as a film producer in a series of bizarre stunts.
For his latest project he disguised himself using a prosthetic mask but was recognised when he took it off to film a section of the video.
In mobile phone footage seen by The Telegraph, he is shown an article detailing his crimes by the film crew.
One man who was recruited to take part in the film said that Jhaj “ran away” after being confronted.
After the Aug 24 film shoot was abandoned, Jhaj allegedly offered cash incentives for people to continue filming at a later date.
On Aug 31 the shoot went ahead and Jhaj was filmed standing naked in front of a fake BBC news lorry as an explosion was triggered.
Flicks a cigarette at police car
He was filmed sitting at a typewriter surrounded by hundreds of newspapers before he flicks a cigarette at a police car, a police van and the BBC lorry which all went up in flames.
The BBC previously said it had no “involvement in the event”.
The London Fire Brigade said it sent 25 firefighters and four fire engines to the scene at 7.51pm after residents reported hearing explosions and seeing plumes of smoke.
Police in Newham, east London, said the incident was “part of a pre-planned filming event” and there was no risk to the public.
They added: “It appears this information was not disseminated as widely as it should have been and we are looking at the systems currently in place to establish why this was the case in this instance.”
On Monday, however, a Newham council spokesman said it had not been notified about the film shoot.
It said: “We were not given prior notice, nor do we have any record of permission having been sought, for filming on 31 August. We are liaising closely with the London Fire Brigade and have approached the film agency involved.”
A police spokesman told The Telegraph there was currently no investigation into the incident.
Jhaj, who has a lengthy history of posing as a film producer, is due to stand trial at Isleworth Crown Court on Aug 4 2025 for breaching notification requirements and a sexual harm prevention order.
The sex offender, of Feltham, west London, was jailed after supplying the two 15-year-olds with alcohol and taking them to parties in nearby Hounslow in his silver Range Rover.
He pretended he was 21 and a Hollywood producer before assaulting them.
Elaborate fake funeral
On Oct 17 2023 he staged a fake red carpet event with up to 200 children and young women playing his fans during a fake movie premiere at Leicester Square, central London.
In April, he had used internationally renowned casting platform Backstage to hire child actors in order to stage an elaborate £10,000 fake funeral at the London Oratory.
Father Rupert McHardy, 49, had been booked to conduct the ceremony but when he arrived he realised something was amiss.
He had been told the funeral was being held for Lauris Zaube, a 23-year-old Latvian man who went missing after a New Year’s Eve party near an iced-over dam west of Riga, Latvia.
Jhaj is said to have posed as the missing man’s brother, wearing dark glasses and giving his name as “Clyde”.
Father McHardy cancelled the funeral after the “mourners” revealed that they were actors and began complaining they had not been paid.

Seems like a great many peoples personal castles are being compulsory purchased to make room in some cases for the ranks of invaders, and also for furthering the ranks of scamming mirrors.
Truth being peoples are still saying it doesn't affect us

What such a letter does is immediately to devalue house prices in the area, whilst making it next to impossible to move house for anyone who had been planning to move. The term is 'planning blight'.
You have to ask, what possible right has government to seize what is yours for their own ego?
The underpinnings of a civilised society are property rights, security and border controls and the hard Left state are deliberately, intentionally refusing to do all three.
With this sort of statism there is no country.

There's an irony that a Lefty politician yet again blames others for what they do. Gobbels suggested trying this, so the greeniac is happily continuing the Left wing psychopathic inability to tell the truth.
Surprise, surprise. Yer slammers agree a truce – then break it.
Their understanding of a truce is always that the other side stops firing. How many times have Hamas and Hezbollah done the same?
And deny they broke it.
If they didn't break it perhaps they could tell us who did
It will be blamed on dissident Iranians who want regime change and think Israel and the USA are the best way to get it.

I've been told that DL doesn't (or can't?) read his ministerial briefs … he has them read to him.
As this takes time this means he would only get a small amount of the information the briefs contain and not be able to read around an issue.
No wonder he can't think on his feet and is only capable of following the scripted lines he has learnt.

The timeline for the B2 strike is thus:
Wednesday 18th. The go is given for the strike to be carried out on the Saturday. Only a handful of Trump's inner circle including Rubio and military are aware.
Thursday 19th Netanyahu is informed. Only two Israeli cabinet ministers and six senior IAF people are read in.
Friday 20th turnip flies to Washington to meet Rubio. Rubio tells turnip nothing. Turnip leaves all puffed up with self importance masking pronouncements about diplomacy winning.
Saturday 21st Once all the US planes had completed the mission and were back over the Eastern Med, announcements were made by the US and Israel about the successful raid. Starmer is woken by Powell and told of the fait accompli.
Sunday 20th Reynolds is all over the Sunday TV telling everyone that the UK had been told beforehand which as anyone with a modicum of intelligence could see was not true.
Now, there's more to this saga.
Bear in mind this is from "whispers"; Starmer, refused to join in with "Operation Night Hammer". If true then he knew about the upcoming raid but probably not all the operational data.
So, what is the situation: not informed, informed or invited to the party but declined the invitation?
Arse covering exercise to try and maintain Starmer's international standing – my sides are splitting – as a statesman of note or a mishmash of lies and obfuscation to muddy the waters. However it's cut the UK is again embarrassed on the international stage.

As Roger Scruton said, communism has now morphed into "Human Rights". The whole human rights scam will have to be shut down.
What is this ‘international law’ thing? Does it actually exist?
Not really. The "rules based order" is whatever the likes of Von der Leyen and Starmer want it to be on any given day and a source of much hilarity in Russia and elsewhere. It's very fluid and basically unenforceable.
That’s pretty much what I thought! It’s very odd, the stuff they want us to believe…
It's a source of much dispute. Some people believe that it exists because it's created by nominally internationalist organisation that say it exists and believe that unenforceability is irrelevant. The law exists even if no-one abides by it, yet if no-one abides by it, it's existence is pointless so to all intents…?
There was no binding obligation under International Law to give away the Chagos Islands but Harmer and Stoma decided to do so anyway as anything that is bad for Britain is what they want.
Both are traitors and let us hope that the petard which hoists and destroys them is sound and in accord with both British and International Law.

Terrible terrible terrible.
I have heard that many girls start their monthly periods at an earlier age than they did decades ago.
Is the early commencement of monthly periods in young girls and their early puberty a signal for those filthy males a signal for them to ruin the lives of young innocent females.
It is similar to older men preferring much younger women who will extend the life of old male aging bodies .
Prince Charles was a classic example , so are celebs and pop stars .
Just my observation , that's all .
Had I met Caroline ten years earlier I would have been 30 and she would have been 14 – as it was we were respectively 40 and 24 which did not upset anybody.
Incidentally I am two years older than the Idiot King and Caroline was born a year after Diana and so is a year younger than she was.
One of my sisters married a man 11 years her junior and was very happily married.
Here we are at The School Christmas party the first year we were married.
https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/53add0b24a9460bba05bd2d33ad514ef00906de06f6063a71abf92b6d19f386a.jpg
Nothing wrong with an age gap when both parties are adults. Though Diana was too young for Charles when she was married and very immature. He was very dismissive of her – I remember one occasion (in my catering days) not long after their honeymoon and she was pregnant, when we were doing a finger buffet in their stables……… the smell of the frying nibbles upset her stomach and she was clearly about to be sick and rushed off. Charles turned to the person next to him and said "She often does that………." he showed no concern for her at all. No wonder the poor girl was so screwed up.
There are many selfish men like that .
We had a next door neighbour , both divorced and onto their 2nd/3rd marriage .
He was horrid , she had huge mental problems , as well as a bad menopause etc .
When I used to enquire about her , he used the wiggly finger gesture on his head , and told me she was Harpic ! (clean round the bend )
No love or empathy there , and we have also known several couples where the wife has committed suicide , it is more common than you can imagine .. and so final , and not a cry for help either.
He's not just an idiot – he's a nasty, insensitive, selfish, arrogant, nasty idiot!
But he’s got the sensible Camilla to keep him in check.
I don't doubt that Princess Diana had morning sickness but Charles could have been referring to her Bulimia.
Probably a bit of both as it was late afternoon at that time.
Poor Charlie, basically a sensitive soul, brought up to be royalty in the era of the stiff upper lip, emphasized by both his Father and Gordonstoun. Boarding schools did tend to make pupils have to grow a "shell" to deal with the environment and the (then) very rigid rules. It wasn't until one hit the sixth form that there was any relaxation of those rules.
Still, no complaints, I received exactly what I wanted, a very thorough Maths and Science education which stood me in good stead in later life.
And you found your lovely Jill.
Yes – when she was just 18 and I was just 20. No-one in those days though we were too young to get engaged and then married – although we did wait until she was 21. This year should have been our 60th Anniversary.
I was married at 20 and a mother at 22. It wasn't all good though – I'd had enough of him by the time I was 40.
Yes – when she was just 18 and I was just 20. No-one in those days though we were too young to get engaged and then married – although we did wait until she was 21. This year should have been our 60th Anniversary.
I wasn't referring to you, so don't feel the need to justify my comment, Richard
I was being very judgemental about other issues , in particular those from other cultures who defile young flesh.
My beef is my disgust at knowing older men or women ruin the teenage years of youngsters , taking away the joy of youthfulness.
My sister and my cousin are married to older men, 11 years difference .
At least my Moh and I have 10 months between us , we were almost boy and girl , early 20's when we got married .
These days anyone under 25 is regarded as a child !!
Had I met Caroline ten years earlier I would have been 30 and she would have been 14 – as it was we were respectively 40 and 24 which did not upset anybody.
Incidentally I am two years older than the Idiot King and Caroline is a year younger than Diana Spencer was.
One of my sisters married a man 11 years her junior and was very happily married.
I expect those men monitoring young girls see the signs of puberty and think that gives the green light.
Charles had to marry to secure the line of succession. He was too late for Camilla at that time, so his bride was chosen for him by the grandmothers.
He's not a patch on his mother, but I'm glad he and Camilla were able to marry eventually. Their children seemed quite happy about it. She's discreet and clearly they are happy together. She sent my late friend (very much a royalist) a thankyou letter which made her day when she was terminally ill.
I like Camilla , well sort of , she did well, and of course that type are the stuff of Tatler and the rest ( Country Life)
I believe better health and nutrition contribute to the starting earlier.
Early puberty is caused by terrible junk food and improper rearing ..
I always thought people in more primitive societies physically matured earlier and had a shorter lifespan. People such as the North American Indians who prior to European intervention, rarely lived past 30. More developed societies take longer. Maybe I thought that because I was almost 16 when I reached puberty. One of the smartest girls in my sixth form class still hadn't had a period at eighteen. She had tests to see if there was something wrong but no abnormalities were found.
From AI:
1. Improved Nutrition and Higher Body Fat
Better overall nutrition leads to earlier development. Historically, poor nutrition delayed puberty. Higher body fat, especially in girls, is linked to earlier onset of puberty. Fat tissue produces leptin, a hormone that can influence the start of puberty. Rising rates of childhood obesity are strongly correlated with earlier menarche (first menstruation).
Doesn't follow. I was very well fed and had a round tummy as well as breasts but still no periods till nearly 16. I wasn't wrong about the primitives.
https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/cb5b9e6783bddd0a9758664d2f4f0adc463597d3ca7a30c5bcca86f8b392f5f8.png
How do they know that?
I assume that it's a combination of evidence from stone age societies that survived into the modern era and DNA testing on ancient remains, though there has to be a smattering of guesswork? Mind, people matured earlier in the modern (post-classical) era too. A random example. Edward III was 15 when he married. His bride was 14. He was leading an army against the Scots. She was mistress of her own household. That ain't gonna happen today?
That was what I wondered.
Depends on averages vs individual cases, I guess.
I was cradle snatched at 19 by a 23 year old Swiss miss in La Chaux-de-Fonds.
The Quran allows a girl of 9 to be married off.

It'd be helpful if the GDPs of the other economies were listed and perhaps why Poland is so far ahead.
I think Ukraine isn't so much poor as so corrupt the money just isn't in the country at all.
Population at a guess.
Poland profited greatly from its membership of the EU. Poland received annually the amount that the UK paid in. This explains why the Poles are now cocky and why the English are in penury.
Quite. And also why the Poles have now seen the light (as they are now expected to contribute to the scheme rather than benefit)
A large part of Western Ukraine IS Poland. Restore their borders and it seems likely that Polish support for Kiev would evaporate.

Florida is awash with illegals from south of the border. Mainly because local businesses there are happy to employ them as cheap labour.
Where isn't and which businesses aren't?
It's always fun when those who yell the loudest about illegals are found to be employing them. Including at a certain Washington Hotel owned by a certain President.
I doubt he hired them himself. But knowing him i expect he will fire the people who did. Doesn't anyone bother to check? I know a lot of places are desperate for staff but…
If you want low paid workers (e.g. hotel cleaners, maids,, etc.) in DC, you have two job pools to choose from – Hispanics, where a good percentage are illegal, or inner city blacks, who, unlike Hispanics are not known for their affinity for hard work.
Yes.
Trump has so many business interests it's almost inevitable some illegals will be employed, possible by friends of the illegal.
As long as the problem is removed I'll live with it.
I much prefer that to illegals being given freebies for life.
We don't do that here – they get a little help if they are genuine refugees, but typically they merge into their "own" communities and get helping hands there. Just as the Italians and the Irish did all those years ago.
And of course, any non US citizen who is convicted of a felony, gets deported to his/her country of origin.
On that score your approach is better than ours.
I thought Trump had sold the hotel in Washington (if it was the former Post Office building).
A British man arrested in France for staging a wedding to a nine-year-old girl at Disneyland Paris is a known predatory paedophile..

EXC: Government Admits Lammy Only Met Once With Chagossians And Only on Day of Deal
Throughout the process of surrendering the British Indian Ocean Territory to Mauritius multiple concerns were raised by those opposed to the ‘deal’ – including the dire security implications, enormous cost to the taxpayer, and the government’s handling of the whole ordeal. It’s Labour’s Suez…
Even more scandalous was Labour’s treatment of the views of the Chagossians themselves. Guido can now reveal the Foreign Secretary, David Lammy, only had one meeting with Chagossian groups since becoming Foreign Secretary – and it was on 22 May, the day the deal was signed. When it was too late to make a difference…
Lammy previously said the government ‘sought to keep the Chagossians informed along the way’. In the debate following the announcement of the handover agreement last October, he also told MPs it was ‘hard’ to get ‘one view’. The government repeatedly gaslit, suggesting it was taking Chagossian views into consideration, but in reality hadn’t even met them…
Lammy also claimed the government would do ‘all we can to support them’. Turns out after the meeting on 22 May, just before the deal was signed, the Chagossian Voices group said there was ‘nothing’ in the deal that was ‘any good’ for them’. Jenny Simon, from the group, added, ‘I’m beyond horrified and angry right now. They [the British government] promised to look out for our best interests – absolute rubbish.’ Labour’s treatment of the Chagossians is a proper scandal…

Good day, Nottlers all!
I am currently basking in warmth. Mainly because I caved in and bought a small halogen heater, so now my mind and fingers have defrosted. 🙂
The cold snap we just had caught me by surprise. Not actually freezing, but the winds were vicious – I started to whinge to a friend that they were bloody Arctic, before grinding to a halt mid-word as I realised that no, they were actually Antarctic! (That made me laugh – I evidently still haven't really comprehended that I'm living in the southern hemisphere!) A south wind means something very different here.
The heater has had the great side-effect of calming the gales and making the sun come out again, so the fact that my heating has given up the ghost again (so the plumber will think I'm after his company 🤪) is no longer a source of misery and blue extremities.
A good day! The same to you all.

Any small sharp blade works well, although presumably now unlawful for everyone except ropers.

Then shepherd would treat himself to a tasty fry up.

When I taught English in a private boarding school I had free access to squash courts, tennis courts, swimming pool, a sports centre and cricket pitches and nets.
I played squash against the boys, played tennis with my colleagues, organised school swimming teams, rugby teams and cross country running teams and played in the Masters' cricket team.
I had had very good free access to sporting facilities when I was a student at UEA. My son also went to UEA and I was very shocked to discover that he had to pay to play sports, use the swimming pool, tennis courts, gym equipment and squash courts. In my day these things came with one's obligatory membership of the National Union of Students which no longer pays any attention to what students need or want.

Here’s what happened: midway through a cruise from Texas to Mexico in 2013, a fire broke out in the Triumph’s engine room. It caused the power to cut out, which not only plunged the ship into darkness but caused the toilets to stop flushing. Guests were told that they’d be towed back to Cozumel the following day. But the ship drifted out of Mexican waters and it was four days before they eventually made it to port in Mobile, Alabama.
That's a coincidence. Cricket down for weather and saw a NowTV ad for a European river cruise. I wouldn't dream of an oceanic cruise (spent too long working at sea), but I thought that might be worth a go.
Edited for smelling.
We had a four day cruise by river boat down the Nile as part of a tour of Egyptian antiquities…………..that was good and we had plenty of time ashore to see things.

Stopping the gangs would be a disastrous policy for Starmer to think of doing. If he did that it would slow down his plan to flood the nation with illegal immigrants.
They've got to start being careful though as Starmer will set the dogs – plod – on them to ensure the muslim isn't hindered by annoyances like legality.

Labour Refuses to Publish China Surrender Audit
Lammy has just finishing his statement on the long-anticipated China Audit in the Commons. Labour is refusing to publish it…
This was never the position of the government, which told hacks looking for answers on China policy to await the audit. One they can’t read…
There is a reference to the document in the just-published National Security Review:
“The China Audit therefore recommends an increase in China capabilities across the national security system to strengthen ability to engage, as well as our resilience and readiness on the basis of deeper knowledge and training. That includes creating the basis for a reciprocal and balanced economic relationship, by providing guidance to those in the private or higher education sectors for which China is an important partner. To ensure that the public, businesses, academia and partners understand our approach, and have the right guidance to help them make safe decisions, we will bring together existing guidance on China in a new http://gov.uk hub and continue to develop comprehensive guidance relevant to engagement with China.”
No policy recommendations. Nothing to address the united front political strategy, nothing on strategic dependencies, nothing on our exposure to escalation in the Taiwan Strait, or any other pressing issues. In other words a complete flub…
Lammy’s excuse for not publishing the audit is “national security.” At the same time the foreign secretary said freezing relations with China is “not an option” – “China has delivered a third of the global economic growth, becoming the world’s second largest economy. Altogether with Hong Kong, the UK’s largest trading partner. And not engaging with China is therefore no choice at all. China’s power is an inescapable fact.” Surrender…
Luke de Pulford, human rights activist and executive director of the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China, tells Guido:
“This was the sole commitment on China in the labour manifesto. After long delays and expectation management, we now learn there’s barely any policy in it, and they’re not even publishing the thing.”
The Chinese mega-embassy will be signed off by Rayner shortly. Golden Keir-a in full grip now…

Not at all convinced that the cow is enjoying it as much as the little boy. It looks coerced to me. And what kind of "unconditional love" involves sitting on someone's neck backwards and stamping on their dewlaps? But hey!
Don't judge. The child is being encouraged to enjoy all parts of the animal. Build up a bond. Drink its milk. Investigate its anus several times. Then slash its throat. All perfectly normal.
Don't, Phiz.
My apologies. I need to speak or not at all.
Tasty, too.
Husband not having a good day today………… this morning he went to Waitrose and bought some rice – I asked him for Waitrose Essential brown rice………….he came home with easy cook white rice.
This afternoon just now he knocked an opened carton of cream out of the fridge and onto the floor…………….
I'm just waiting for the next thing………
Did you write it down for him?
Cream spilled = happy cats…
No – but I repeated the list several times and he may have written it down himself……..he usually never goes anywhere without his list.
Try not to read too much into it. We all have senior moments and i'm not even considered senior!
Perhaps he prefers the other rice but didn't like to say…
I never use white easy cook but he doesn’t seem to know the difference……….it’s a big bag.
We buy the small packets of Tilda rice and pop the opened bag in the microwave.
No microwave here.
Just go with the flow. What ever he brings back you know how to cook.
I buy microwaveable rice. Handy for stir fries.
The bigger the bag the cheaper. Don't forget to thoroughly rinse the cyanide off.
We don’t give them cream or milk.
Neither do we – but they know people who do!
It's not good for cats.
In theory because all cats are lactose intolerant but does it really give them diarrhoea and make them vomit?
I hope not. Lily quite liked milk – clearly she was used to it. She did the washing up too. Never used the cat flap – had to have the door opened.
I had the pleasure of cats over many years. Most lived to a good age. Though one did get run over and another died from a suspected poisoning. (rats liking railway lines).
Milk never really seemed a problem until CatMilk© became a 'thing'.
Quite
That’s a funny thing. For hundreds of years, cats were given “a saucer of milk” and no one batted an eyelid. Now – apparently – it is the kiss of death. What happened?
The brand "Cat Milk" was invented and became extremely profitable for the usuals, is what happened.
Same as bones for dogs! 🙄
Winston and Kadi both get bones. Winston is grinding his as I type. Charlie loved his bones, too. Even at 17.5 years he had great teeth.
The milk changed.
At least, with Bovaer in the milk, the cats won't fart that awful meaty smell…
I guess people realised it was not a good thing to give them.
I don't let the Warqueen shop.
Oh Dear, that's a shame tell him he's not alone, it seems that everything I do these days some thing seems to go wrong. It's really very annoying.
It almost seems to be set up.
But my knee seems to be coming along quite well. Very serious bruising though. But I suppose that's difficult to avoid when it's been hacked around.
I'm Making our dinner soon, smoked salmon linguine. I hope it all ends up on the plates.
Wish him well.
Thankyou………. I had an idea later – the staff are helpful in there so we might be able to take it back and exchange it for the sort we want.
Glad to hear your knee is recovering – the bruising will go down and fade.
It has to beCreamy Rice pudding
It’s not pudding rice.
Poor lad; I get days where every Goddamned thing goes wrong like that.
That’s his way of saying 'don’t send me shopping'. You’re lucky he didn’t go to Aldi! ;@)
Oi! What's wrong with Aldi?
The one near me gives me the creeps.
Moh has been glued to the cricket , and then when he came out in the car with me , I did the shopping whilst he listened to the car radio.

A nice summer heatwave in Toronto and the community swimming pools are very popular and crowded except (there always has to be an except) the bureaucrats decided that it was to hot for lifeguards to work – so they have closed some of the pools.
Just a suggestion. Not saying people should revolt. But how about everyone turns up with their swimming costumes and climb the fences?

Please don’t give my husband longer paternity leave
22 June 2025, 6:55am
Dads could soon get more time off to look after their babies if a group of MPs have their way. Britain has among the ‘worst statutory leave offers for fathers and other parents in the developed world’, the chairwoman of the Women and Equalities Committee, Sarah Owen, has said. The committee called on the government to consider raising paternity pay to the level of maternity pay in the first six weeks after a baby is born. Deloitte has gone further, offering male staff six months off. As a mother on maternity leave, I can get on board with six weeks; but six months? Let me be the first to say: no thanks.
Men at home all day have an uncanny ability to misunderstand the rhythm of the house. They use the blender during wind-down time, for instance
The image of a father pushing a pram while mum catches up on sleep or sanity is a heart-warming one. Paternity leave sounds rather noble. It’s a time, you might think, of shared bonding and equal parenting. But the reality of paternity leave is very different. In a household where the man has a full array of opinions and a limited grasp of the laundry system, six months of paternity leave is not an act of support; it amounts to domestic invasion.
It’s not that I’m against fathers bonding with their babies. Far from it. I’m all for help with bedtime stories, bath time, and nappy changes at 3 a.m. What unsettles me is the idea of my husband being in the house. All day. For months on end. Anyone who lived through lockdown with a furloughed spouse, or whose partner works from home, will understand that having your other half home all day does not always mean domesticated bliss.
A man with little to do can be completely infuriating to live with. You see, men often have a rather different idea of what ‘paternity leave’ means. My husband’s, for instance, is a serene blend of extended staycation and postnatal honeymoon. It is treated like a sabbatical, to do all the things he never gets around to doing.
‘How lovely that he’s at home to help with the baby,’ everyone says. In reality, he has begun all those ‘jobs’ (read: ‘self-indulgent projects’) that are far from urgent but seem to take importance over domestic duties and childcare. My husband has spent the last fortnight stacking our logs into a carefully designed beehive structure. ‘Well done darling,’ I say. ‘Thank you, very helpful’. But is it really? Could he not help me with the mounting ironing pile instead?
Then there’s mealtimes. At 12 o’clock, my husband appears. ‘What’s for lunch?’ he asks. He expects a proper sit-down affair, not the four-minute boiled egg I had intended in order to squeeze in a lunchtime nap while the baby is finally down for theirs.
My husband offers to cook dinner, but then decides to become Mary Berry and suggests we cook duck a l’orange. After struggling to find the cornflour at the back of the cupboard (it’s right in front of his nose), he finally produces it at 9.45pm having started five minutes before bath time. Once we’ve eaten, of course, it’s my turn to wash up, since he cooked. All I wanted was a bowl of cereal and to go to bed.
‘Sleep when the baby sleeps’ is a well-known mantra. However my husband thinks this is an invitation for afternoon sex. He generously granted me six to eight weeks of celibate ‘recovery’. But when I suggest a lunchtime nap, he brightens with hope. This is not a euphemism; this is not lockdown: I truly just want to sleep.
On the subject of appearances, a maternal glow and instant return to my pre-pregnancy wardrobe is what he envisaged. He had certainly not anticipated months of me in a pair of leggings and one of his shirts permanently half unbuttoned ever ready to peel back to my milk-stained bra. I resent the pressure of having him there to judge. I want the freedom to use this time to become a bit of a slob and do things in my own time, like only making the bed and emptying the dishwasher minutes before he comes home from work.
New mothers become a strange hybrid: carer, cleaner, cook, and cow. The idea of doing all that while also performing the role of pleasant, accommodating spouse and dutiful composed mother because your husband is home is exhausting. When evening falls, there is also no one to complain to about how hard your day has been, as they’ve been through it themselves.
Then there is the intellectual laziness, and I don’t mean that my husband can’t decide on what he would like me to defrost for supper. He constantly asks me what he needs to do with the baby, leaving me the responsibility to Google it, or read the relevant chapter in the baby book. I once curtly suggested he look it up himself. This inspired him to study two Instagram infographics before lecturing me on the exact scientific ‘nose-to-nipple’ gradient for the perfect latch. Never mind that I had attended all the midwife appointments and actually gave birth to the thing.
Men at home all day have an uncanny ability to misunderstand the rhythm of the house. They use the blender during wind-down time. They open a new packet of baby wipes without finishing the old one. They ask you to hand wash their jumpers when you’re frantically trying to clear the back log of meconium-stained baby grows. ‘What shall we do today?’ they ask, as if keeping the baby alive and the house in order isn’t going to take all day. Any spare moments of peace I can find I want to vegetate in front of Homes under the Hammer. But he has commandeered the TV room for his occasional work calls, which happen to coincide perfectly with when the baby’s nappy needs changing.
So, while MPs mean well, lets not get carried away. A man on paternity leave should be like a good guest: helpful, but aware when it’s time to go. Yes, give men the chance to bond with their babies, change nappies, and master the art of swaddling. But do we need half a year of them clattering about in the kitchen? No, we do not. Let’s not pretend that longer always means better. In parenthood, as in so many things, less can be more. More sleep. More sanity. More sex, even. Just not every afternoon between Loose Women and lunch.

That’s extremely well observed! Brilliant!
The government is in denial about the fact that men and women are different.
In Norway, parental leave can be shared between both parents as each find suitable. Total leave is 48 weeks.
I'm sure it's a very variable experience. Some dads would be very good at it and some wouldn't. I was there (at home at least) for the birth of our 2 children but had to return offshore for 8-9 weeks interspersed with 4-5 week breaks. The babies would look at me oddly for a few days after each return home. The girl has turned out a cracking person and the boy not quite so cracking. You can only do what you think is best.

Richard Tice Emergency Jail Visit After Lucy Connolly In Horror Attack By Prison Guards..
Reform trying to make up for lack of concern shown for TR.
Reminder: 31 months hard labour for a X comment.
Lucy’s husband Raymond Connolly has responded to the outrage today in this exclusive statement to Outspoken…
I can’t tell you how relieved I am that Richard Tice MP has been to see Lucy, I was gutted when I saw her on Sunday, her wrists were really bruised – some very WEIRD things have been happening to her inside prison. It’s strange because Lucy just likes to get along with everyone and mother the young ones.
My wife has had a two-tier prison experience. Why has she not had Release on Temporary License, when others have? I don’t know who is pulling the strings but something funny is going on in relation to the way my wife is treated by the prison service. Can you imagine what it’s like for me, as her husband, hearing what is happening to my wife and what she is having to deal with, and I can’t do anything to protect her.
I’m horrified by some of the things she has told me, I really worry about Lucy. I’m so thankful to Richard Tice for going to check on her safety as an MP and I feel reassured that someone like him is looking out for her – it makes all the difference in the world to my family.
Sad to say, but it would not surprise me if Mrs Connolly doesn't make it.
RIP Peter Lynch. Lest we forget.
I do find that fairly hard to believe. A high profile prisoner with many sympathisers in Britain persecuted by prison guards, Saviour Tice standing by to race to the jail…sounds a bit too likely to appeal to potential Reform voters to be true. Kiss of death is that the story is
promotedreported in the Mail.Doesn’t appeal to me, although I have voted Reform in the past as there was no alternative.
Friends of mine held their noses and voted Trump for the same reason. They are not Orange-man-bad, just disappointed by his actions. I fear we will be the same as Farage ushers in the digital shackles in Britain.
And Telegraph. Must be proof for such a serious allegation.
They all push the same narrative and not much ends up in the Mail without a purpose. There are a few question marks over the Lucy Connolly narrative.
Hell of a good Test Match!
On Saturday, I wrote about India burying England when the score was 400-and-something for 3…
Statto moment: it's the first time in all first-class cricket (more than 60,000 matches) that a team has won despite conceding five centuries.
Another Statto: India's number 8,9,10, and 11 were dismissed for a total of 9 runs (5 in the first innings, 4 in the second) the lowest combined total ever in Test Cricket!
They let loose Tongue.
I saw what you did there mola…….
Five centuries and six ducks had never happened before. 835 is, I think, the 3rd highest total over two completed innings to lose.
TMS also gave some notable stats for 'top heavy' innings but by this time it was me being buried by numbers.
And perhaps the most impressive of all – the 10th highest successful run chase in Test cricket history!!

"China is preparing to launch a tsunami of domestic AI innovation, with more than 100 DeepSeek-like breakthroughs (more here) expected within the next 18 months, according to former PBOC Deputy Governor Zhu Min, as reported by Bloomberg. This development signals Beijing's intent to rapidly close the technological gap ahead of the 2030s.
Speaking at the World Economic Forum's "Annual Meeting of the New Champions" in Tianjin, China, Min told the audience that 100 DeepSeek-like breakthroughs "will fundamentally change the nature and the tech nature of the whole Chinese economy."
The emergence of DeepSeek, a low-cost, powerful AI model, has fueled Chinese tech stocks and underscored China's AI competitiveness despite U.S. restrictions on advanced chips and domestic macroeconomic headwinds. Bloomberg Economics projects high-tech's contribution to China's GDP could rise from 15% in 2024 to over 18% by 2026.
A successful deployment of 100+ advanced AI systems modelled after high-performance DeepSeek would drastically accelerate China's digital transformation across surveillance, industrial automation, finance, and, most importantly, defence".

Australia just gave lab-grown meat the official thumbs-up, approving the sale of cultivated Japanese quail and joining the elite global club of… three. That’s right—only Singapore, the U.S., and now Australia are on board with selling meat that’s never had feathers, feet, or a heartbeat, Bloomberg wrote last week.
Sydney-based startup Vow is behind the venture and says it’ll start serving up foie gras, parfait, and other fancy dishes made from quail cells in select restaurants within weeks. This follows a long-overdue tweak to the country's food standards code, years in the making.
The science behind it? Cultivating animal cells in vats instead of raising entire animals, allegedly to save the planet and spare some lives. Noble goals, sure. But the cultivated meat industry hasn’t exactly been thriving. Funding is drying up, scaling remains a headache, and the political pushback—especially in the U.S.—has turned into a sideshow.
Shit, I'm just glad I'm an old fuck these days.

Pity the poor indigenous boy, wanting a house and a family.
Yes, Elsie, we use the same terminology as for a par 4 golf hole. So…
1 would be a ‘hole in one’ – I’ve never got one and I dont think anyone else on here has!
2 is an Eagle (or 2 under par)
3 is a Birdie (or 1 under par)
4 is a par
5 is a Bogey (or 1 over par)
6 is a Double Bogey (or 2 over par)
Any more is a ‘fail’……I’ve had about four of those……
Thanks, I’ve now written these down.
Goodnight all. I have had a busy day working in the garden so I’m off for an early night.
Sleep well Conway!
Good night Conners – and Kadi and Winston.

Ffs. This triggered me a fortnight ago at the T20 at the Rosebowl. Ffs.
Well, it's early for me, but I think I will also head for the hills. Good night, chums, sleep well and I hope to see you all early tomorrow morning.

3 year olds? Effing perverts in charge there it seems.
I thought school was not complulsory before age 5?
3 year olds don't go to school.
So, how come 3 year olds have "complsory" education?
Exactly.
What a repulsive person this is. It seems devoid of all identity as far as its own sex is concerned.
It seems male to me – those broad, substantial shoulders, its meaty forearms. A pervert, regardless.
These people are vicious paedophiles and should never ever be allowed near children or politics.
Just getting the kids ready for the invaders?
Heat is supposed to ease tomorrow evening, Hope so, it's almost 6:00pm here and it's 99F (37C) outside.

With very best wishes from
Caroline and Rastus
Thank you both for your best wishes.
Happy birthday, Corim. Hope it's the best yet! And, many more to come!
Thank you Oberst I hope to last a few more years. A lovely day here so will be off to lunch shortly (Fish & Chips).
Happy birthday, keep scoring the runs.
Many thanks for your good wishes sos. My cricketing days are long past, I was a handy club cricketer in my youth.
I followed the Test Match by intermittently looking at the scorecard over the five days. At last something to be proud of in our wretched England.
Off to lunch shortly. Thank you.
Have a good long one!
Happy Birthday Squire. (Pay no attention to sos's scatological suggestion!)
Thank you for your good wishes.
When I see your comments and photographs I inevitably picture the landscape around Bath.
When in practice I visited most of the Bath stone mines including in your neck of the woods and as far afield as Westwood near Bradford on Avon. I specified Bath stone on Richmond House Whitehall, specifically Monks Park internally and Combe Down externally.
As a boy I would cycle along the Kennet & Avon canal tow path from Bath lock to Limpley Stoke on my Palm Beach bicycle. Memories!
I have visited Richmond House a couple of times – it is a fine building. I had no idea the stone was quarried locally. In fact the only stone mine I've visited was in France at a place called Bailly on the River L'Yonne. My Navigation guide informs me 'the immense underground quarries once provided the stone for the construction of Paris. The 3 Hectares of underground galleries are now occupied by a wine cooperative" . On the guided tour the guide stated that at any one time there were over 1,000,000 bottles of Cremont de Bougogne being produced in the racks.
Next week I'm embarking on a month's tour of the K&A heading for Crofton which houses the World's oldest (1812) working steam engine in its original location
Enjoy the rest of your day..

408145+ up ticks,
We must face up to the fact that the MAIN THREAT is
internal under a heavy coating of deflection material.
To survive we MUST be a unified people NOT divided via governing parties of the same treacherous odious ilk.
The situation currently is of, to say the least, a very serious nature NOT calling for tribal/ tactical voting in any shape or form.

I would say that the WEF / NWO have NO complaints so far.
In the words of the daily mail this is simply 'adorable'. It really is. Night night all.
