I ain't posted any thumbnail – I posted full scale, full frontal. Try refreshing page.
The goose is cooked.
But who has goosed the cook?
I do not understand this cartoon, other than the implication that Starmer's judgment is being called into question. Is it that simple?
Me too, Stig. And I am not sure who the lady is.
Trump's wife.
Hmmm. Not a good likeness.
I don't know what she looks like. In the highly unlikely event of ever speaking face-to-face with her, I'd have to be introduced to know who I'm talking to.
Me neither.

Good Morning!
Today we have two articles, both short. The main one is by Graham Bedford on the evils perpetrated on the world and him by Bill Gates, one of the globalist angels of death. Bill Gates and the Excel Pandemic reveals all. The second one is a short reminder to attend Tommy Robinson's Patriots Parade Unite The Kingdom March for Free Speech , being held today in London. Hope to see you there!
My old mucker John Surtees, a former soldier and policeman, writes a plea for a return to civilised debate and respect for political opponents, saying that their opposite, and the hate that stems mainly from the Left, is the root cause of Charlie Kirk's murder. So please read The Murder of Charlie Kirk: When the Public Space Is Silenced by Gunfire ; A Crime Against Debate and let us know if you agree.
Energy Watch: Over the last 24 hours: Britain's average power requirement was 1.7 GW, sourced from Gas, 11.9%; Solar, 8%: Wind 52.6%; Imports, 10.1%; Biomass, 3.1%; Nuclear 10.4% and Miscellaneous, 3.8%.
Wasn't Surtees a rally driver? Or am I confused… ?
Good morning, Herr Oberst. To answer your first question: Yes he was. To answer the second: No, it is I who am Confused (of Colchester). Lol.
Not this one.
No worries, Tom. I just reacted to the unusual surname…
Seven-time Grand Prix motorcycle World Champion. He won the Formula One World Drivers' Championship in 1964 with Ferrari, and remains the only driver to win World Championships on both two- and four-wheels; he won 38 motorcycle Grands Prix and six Formula One Grands Prix.

Mandelson up for six-figure payout over dismissal
HR staff are said to have been drafted in to ensure there is legal justification for sacking ambassador to US over association with Epstein
Just give him billions of £££, like the Caiquos islands (spelling?). After all, there's a bottomless money pit in the UK…
Caicos.
If Mandelslime is going to get a six figure payout then perhaps Starmer was blackmailed into appointing him? Mandleslime knew at outset he would have to be sacked and knew he would get a six figure payont and thought he would like the money.
Nothing would surprise me. What serious dirt Mandleslime must have on Starmer to pull off this stunt!
He's probably hoping for a cut from the Chagos deal too!
First Rayner getting severance okay, now Mandlefart?
One resigned, the other was removed as disciplinary measure. The only reason for paying severance is for a no fault redundancy.
Bl**dy MRPs- should have the same HR policies as the rest of the country's subjects.

A gender critical campaigner was accused of a hate crime after celebrating the dismissal of a trans police officer who had harassed him.
Harry Miller, a former police officer who now campaigns for free speech, was questioned under caution by Lincolnshire Police for a tweet welcoming the officer’s removal.
Mr Miller had been the victim of a sustained campaign of harassment by Lynsay Watson, a transgender constable with the Leicestershire force who was the complainant behind the arrest last week of Graham Linehan, the comedy writer.

I was in need of a bathroom break at half past midnight Wednesday. Looked out of the window just out of habit and saw a very large male fox in our road. Good to know they are still out there.
Yes, mostly at dusk here. They shoot them tho (lambs are all). Similarly badgers. I understand farming concerns but I love all wildlife – long eared hare in garden the last few days, a pleasure to see him.
The last time I saw a fox I was walking our lovely Black Lab and she set off across a farmers field. I caught her up and found a dead fox 🦊 with half it’s head missing. Obviously been shot by a brave local farmer.
She also found a dead sparrow hawk on another walk also shot by a local farmer. I collected the body later and gave it to a friend who was involved in the Hawk and Owl Trust. He found the pellets and informed the police who spoke to the local farmer.
I had a run in with him on another walk nearby and he threatened to shoot my dog if it frightened the breeding red grouse. With out mentioning the other incidents I informed him that if he shot my dog that I would shove his gun barrel up his backside and pull the trigger.
Rapid end of confrontation.
That’s quite a picture, Eddy, one to treasure. I think there will always be a distance between (especially sheep) farming and wildlife. I’ve been told farmers were given special dispensations during WW2 which they requested in order to feed GB, and that these have never stopped. Tradesmen mostly, complaining inequality. I’ve never forgotten being told some years ago that a local farmer would empty silage tank down badger setts. I don’t know if that’s true, but I do know I’ve not seen a badger for many years now. Was a hare in the garden for a few days last week. Not seen it since. And last time I saw a fox was under a bush in the garden, seemingly crept there to die after possible road collision – a large injury on back leg. Friend of mine’s dad used to work for Milk Marketing Board, drove a tanker…said he saw hundreds of rats there. Another one said he gave up because of the filthy conditions he saw on some of his collection points.
We don’t have very many sheep here Kate it’s nearly all agricultural land.
Foxy looking lady, too!
Is that an EU umbrella she's carrying?
No, night sky – moon and stars.
I have some Night Sky petunias – they don't look like that! 🙂

She was never good enough to become 'master chief' the bbc fixed it for her through Paul Holywood destroying other contestants master pieces.
I don't have a TV but it was obvious from the start that she would win,
We know a lady who was one of her teachers at school. I remember her saying she wasn’t the brightest nor very nice.
I’ll be seeing her in a week at a friend’s funeral I’ll ask her again and get back.
I thought I had replied yesterday….
I shall be seeing one of her old teachers next week at a mutual friend's funeral. I ask her what she thinks.
All the contestants were originally on odds of 15/1 so I should have put a tenner on her. That would pay for the TV licence I don't actually have!
Any muslim that insists on wearing islamic dress is disrespecting this country. I saw a bint medic yesterday wearing long sleeves under a short-sleeved set of scrubs. The reason the sleeves are short is so that the arms can be thoroughly cleansed as a hygiene measure. Clearly this rag head didn't agree.

Why are English flags the only ones in the world that also feel the need to write the name of the country across the middle?
Those versions are owned by by the hard-of-thinking.
I suspect that those bearing the country name were intended for sports fans rather than displays of patriotism or nationalism.
Especially the ones spelt "ENGERLAND"?

Mandelson approached Starmer to be the UK Ambassador to the USA:
"Keir old boy, as you know, I knew Donald Trump when he was very friendly with Epstein. Even you wouldn't believe the dirt I've got on him.
Make me Ambassador and I'll ensure the special relationship goes our way."
"Excellent. Your appointment will be confirmed, be careful not to screw up again. Good luck with your schmoozing"
How Sharia courts blow apart Starmer’s denial of two-tier justice
Kathy Gyngell – September 13, 2025

BTL
Sharia courts should not exist in the UK. When they are found they should be extinguished and those involved punished under British law.
The laws of England and Wales, or the laws of Scotland.
No such thing as British law.
As you point out British Law is not a correct term as the Law in England and Wales does not apply in Scotland.
My point, however, is that Sharia Law and the Laws applied in Britain are not compatible with each other.
SEE MY POST ABOVE!
By outlawing Sharia courts, you run the risk of imposing a different kind of two-tier justice.
Here's Google's AI overview of religious arbitration courts.
Singling out Sharia councils for exemplary punishment but leaving the London Beth Din untouched looks very much like two-tier justice.
Morning All 🙂😊🤗
Brightish but only just double figures.
Hey ho…..
After my experience with my gp practice Thursday and yesterday I think I already knew that our GP's have been cheating on the NHS for quite a long time. I found out that our own gp had been running a private practice alongside his NHS position for sometime.
The waiting rooms are always empty at our local surgery and there are rarely recogniseable cars in the parking spaces.
Going back in only a short time it was at least possible to get an appointment within a day of asking. This once again is something else that our 'I'm all right jack' useless politicians have effed up between them.
And everything you read everyday about them all is an absolute disgrace in the true sense of the word. That horrible peace of work Mandleslime has refused to give up his seat in Wastemonster's HOL. Only In it for what they can get out of it.
Sorry to read of your GP experience, Eddy…seems to be repeated length & breadth UK. My own carried on as tho' still in lockdown, and to this day. I have regular prescriptions, delivered – am told receptionists (there are five!) often in tears because of the abuse from people either phoning in or visiting surgery – that's wrong, take it out on GPs the thing to do but I guess the risk is being banned from their list. It is more or less a private practice, now a limited company, Senior GP now MD, other GPs now Directors. MD charges his electric jaguar at work, the prescription vans have to wait their turn. As for Mandelb*, that won't end well.
A Happy Birthday to Anne I hope you have a lovely day today and a memorable day 🤗🤩 cheers to you 🥂🍾 good old Virgos eh 😉

SIR – William T Nuttall’s letter (“Pub puritan”, September 9) reminded me of our local in the 1970s, which was at the end of our unmade road in Horsell, Surrey. Called the Plough, it was run by a true, old-fashioned publican.
The bitter was kept in tapped barrels in the cellar, and he would disappear down the steps to pour pints for his customers. My wife once asked for half a pint, to which he replied: “If you think I am going down there for a half, you are sadly mistaken.”

Lady Starmer to take centre stage in Trump visit
Sir Keir Starmer’s wife set to charm US president – who called her a ‘great woman’ – when he arrives in UK.
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/royal-family/2025/09/12/lady-starmer-centre-stage-trump-visit/
A couple of BTLs
a) AI now means Artificial Intelligence – AI used to be the term meaning Artificial Insemination.
Given the sheer physical repulsiveness of Starmer and the doubts about his sexuality one must ask how the Starmer children were conceived.
b) He is so sickeningly physically repulsive that I cannot understand how she can bear to be in the same room as he is let alone that she should allow herself to be touched by him.
"Lady Starmer, your Ambassador told me Keir is partial to a bitof anal, did he wear a butt plug when you tried for children?"
Those BTLs are ridiculous. They've simply converted a dislike of the man's character, policies, beliefs (if he has any) and deeds into a pantomime revulsion of his outward appearance. It's petty.

Although this letter has overtones of Monty Python's Four Yorkshiremen, it brings back memories of my own childhood.
SIR – Catherine Pepinster (Comment, September 11) discusses how fewer children are doing household chores.
I come from a family of seven girls and two boys. My father worked 12 hours a day, seven days a week, to provide us with a comfortable lifestyle. This left my mother to deal with nine children and dish out the discipline.
We were each given a daily chore to do before school, such as cleaning the fire grate and setting a new fire, washing the breakfast dishes, making the beds or pegging out the washing. These jobs were on a rota basis.
On returning home for lunch on school days, we were tasked with peeling potatoes and vegetables for the evening meal, feeding the dog and cleaning his dishes, or filling the coal bucket.
At weekends, we were each given a room to clean from top to bottom, while my mother washed all the bed sheets. Some of us were then commandeered to hang them out on half a dozen washing lines. Fresh beds had to be made for 11 before lunch.
The rooms we cleaned were always inspected by mother, who pointed out anything we had missed. While this was going on, she had a hearty casserole in the oven ready for us to eat at the dining table, with a tablecloth, at 12 noon. With all jobs done, we then had the rest of the weekend to read, play, enjoy hobbies or do homework.
Today, we are proud to be upstanding citizens and a credit to our late parents, who taught us how to conduct ourselves, cook, and keep a clean and tidy house.
Sylvia Jones
Manley, Cheshire
Smug, too!
I'd have thought that casserole would be more easily, and less messily, eaten with a fork, or a spoon, not a tablecloth. Strange folk, these Cheshire people.
Eight of my nine sisters are older than me. They made damned sure I did my share of the washing up.
Free Speech?
If The Conservative Woman is too frightened to keep this up then the UK really is in trouble.

My original Nottle post was criticised by Oberstleutnant for saying British Law is not a correct term as the Law in England and Wales does not apply in Scotland.
My point, however, is that Sharia Law and Sharia Courts are not compatible with British Laws and Courts.
My warrant card stated that, "The holder shall enjoy the powers and privileges of a constable throughout England and Wales."
In Scotland I was just another tourist.
I'm puzzled how the verdict of a Sharia Court, where it does not conflict with British law and which is freely accepted by those to whom it applies, can be rendered illegal.
Imagine that a family dispute is resolved by a respected member of a local community, with all parties satisfied with the outcome and none coerced into accepting it. The participants are all Muslim but none call the proceedings a Sharia Court nor an application of Sharia Law. Nothing about the proceedings, nor the the verdict, conflicts with the laws of the land. What then?
I don't see how a Muslim woman will have any choice.
There's the rub. What if she protests that she's happy with the outcome and has not been coerced in any way into accepting it?
Perhaps she's probably lying for fear of being victim of an honour killing?
How is this to be determined?
Look into her eyes?
I suppose there can be an overarching judgment about fairness. A UK court could assert that the outcome of this Islamic arbitration process is inherently unfair and will be set aside, regardless of the protestations of all the participants.
412788+ up ticks,
Morning S,
May one ask,
What if Timothy Evans was dissatisfied with the verdict, what then ?
I don't know who Timothy Evans is.
He was a lodger of John Reginald Halliday Christie – the 10 Rillington Place murderer. Evans was convicted and hanged for the murder of a child. Later it became obvious, when Christie was convicted, that Evans was innocent.
He was actually executed for the murders of his wife and child, but after Christie's activities became known, he was granted a posthumous pardon for his wife's murder, but still held to be guilty of the child's murder.
It was not until several decades later that it was accepted that Christie, who'd been chief prosecution witness at his trial, had probably committed both murders and the full pardon was granted.
I'm sure he felt much better after that.
Quite.
Is Ogga suggesting that Sharia Courts are allowed to execute innocent people? I often struggle to understand the point he's trying to make.
I tend to agree, Stig. It is what we call "Arbitration".
However if either party is coerced or is not there voluntarily – then the judgment of the arbitrator could be challenge.
What's happened to Stig? I just get "Content unavailable", but I haven't blocked him.
Indeed.
It wasn't intended as criticism, just for information. I always remember it, as I got it wrong in a business context way back early 1990s…
Morning all! Sun is out here in West Sussex. Checking London weather it seems there is no more rain until 2.00pm but then showers all the way through until 6:00pm. I hope they are very mild showers or don't appear at all.
Two things. Apparantly when Charlie Kirk was shot his daughter, frightened by the noise, ran toward her father. I hope that she didn't see what had happened, she is only 5. But to hear that, awful.
One of the Lotus Eaters quoted a formula of the Left, I quote:
"NAZIS are the worst people who ever lived
NAZIS deserve to die
I'm going to call you a NAZI
Therefore you deserve to die.
That, it appears to me, sums up the thinking that killed Charlie Kirk and the type of thinking you constantly hear directed at ordinary people who want to protect their children who are constantly insulted by the left chanting: "NAZI scum off our streets."
I have seen some of the comments on line by the left concerning Charlie. It is hard to believe that such evil exists. But, apparently, it is alive and kicking, poisoning the minds of the vulnerable and innocent.

I'm very surprised that job losses such as these can be tracked with such apparent ease and accuracy. I am most doubtful about that figure's accuracy.
Just back from a quick trip to Fakenham to buy some smoked salmon for grand-daughter. Bluss – it was chilly with a very strong southerly breeze.
Later – to a reunion at Gresham's School for former pupils who were there when the MR taught – from 1997 to 2009. It'll be funny (as well as a great pleasure) to see these 40 somethings!
I wonder if Christo will be there?
He was at Gresham's at the very end of your MR's time there so he is 31 and not yet in his 40s.
His wife, Katy, DV will be producing a daughter in January.
Your first grandchild? I hope all goes well.
How wonderful!
Do they already know the sex of the baby, Rastus? Takes all the mystery out of it, I always think.
A relative of my good wife was a house master until 2009.
Small world!
We have had several students from Gresham's on our courses over the years. Indeed the children of three of the teachers at the school have been to us.
My first visit to Holt was when I was a student at UEA in the 1960s and I went to play rugby against Holt for one of the university's XVs.

But answer came there none —

2Tier is safe Till Birnam Wood comes to Dunsinane…expected before Labour Party Conference 2025
I rang my GP surgery this morning and the man I spoke to was actually very helpful. I’ve been requesting repeat prescriptions via the NHS app but I can see that the app has not been updated in line with the hospital discharge summary. Nice man this morning had said summary in front of him and could see the changes, some of which are temporary and require discussion. I’m to receive a call first thing on Monday.
But which Monday, Our Susan?
Are you home now?
No, I’m still at The Chiswick. Reasonably mobile but exertion produces negative results. It’s been less than three weeks since my chest was opened.
MMorning Sue,
I'm sure once your body's over the shock of such a major assault, recovery will speed up and you'll be zipping about like a young 'un 😁
Yes, I figure I’ll be home by week five and spending a few hours each day at work grappling with Windows 11, which I already dislike but the supposed upgrade won’t be optional. At least I have an excuse to take it slowly.
I hate M/Soft/Windows, upgrades always a pain ITB. Have had an Acer chromebook running Google, for a number of years. Never had a single problem. Perhaps something to consider if/when upgrade time comes along.
Our work PCs were upgraded to Windows about a month ago. I hate it. I hope to have better luck.
Are you home yet, Sue? We've found our GP surgery very helpful when J's not well. Young Dr who came yesterday agreed with my diagnosis that he has a UTi. Let's hope the antibiotics do their stuff.
M-i-l (90+) had one recently, chatter around putting her in a care home – I've had UTIs years ago and I said this is what it sounds like to me, get a sample from her first, and that's what was found – UTI. Antibiotics generally work quickly, but take the whole course…good luck x
The dr found he did have an inspection tube, so we used a clean jam jar and he had some dipsticks with him. I picked up a tube from the surgery later on for sending off.
My dad had that infection, after being admitted to hospital (dementia). He pulled out his own tube (very painful, staff said), and also went round the (dialysis) ward they’d placed him in, pulling out all the other patients tubes too. I dread being put in hospital, care home, saw enough with him – and that was a BUPA place, his social worker told me ‘wherever you put him, don’t put him in any Local Authority place, they’re abysmal’.
Oh gosh – that’s awful. Dementia is very frightening. J is getting forgetful but is still rational, most of the time.
Care home was very good, manager and senior carers all white, cleaners and student nurses all black and that never went down well with him which was a bit odd because out of character – but that’s dementia. I had such a poor reaction to vaccine, I wasn’t aware at the time but did notice family glancing at each other…as time went on I started and I couldn’t remember events etc I thought I must have EOD, pretty scary. Something to do with spike protein, keeps recurring – ready for the little ******* now tho :-D…all the best to you and yours N, hang in there as long as you can x
Have you got sufficient meds to get you to Monday, and will they deliver to you? Fingers crossed x (I've found in the past app doesn't always work but actually going online did).
I've never used their app – or the GP's Anima system but we managed to get through by phone.
Good – ours usually rings out, or takes a loooong time to answer, tells you you are *****nth in the queue, doesn’t really help…
It was fairly late in the afternoon when we rang – I was said to be first in the queue and the receptionist answered promptly. She said she’d get the Dr to call – he did, and said he send one of the other doctors round to see him next day (yesterday) and he arrived about 12. So I think we’ve had good service from them. The last time I phoned to make an appointment was some months ago – I was able to get one for that week.
I think you are very lucky with your surgery. Ours used to be like that, then they closed. The new one is *****, largely because they have far too many patients on their books (kerching!) to be able to treat them properly.
It seems we are lucky. When J was having his heart trouble three years ago we saw most of the usual doctors one day or another. Not quite the same as having the one you know but they were all ok. They seem to have a large team of part timers now. I couldn’t find yesterday’s dr on the list on their website so perhaps he was just an on call locum.
Ref Mandelslime's "payoff". I'd not give him a penny – let him sue – we all know it takes years for any sort of lawsuit to amble its way through the system.
This is an accounting manoeuvre.
Mandleslime was appointed US ambassador so that he could then be sacked and his 'payoff' could then pass through the books and not result in an investigation into its probity.
On that subject:
Is a person who freely resigns entitled to severance pay? If not will Rayner receive nothing?
She's apparently getting a substantial sum – help to pay off her debts.
Why?
Just for 'being' I suppose.
I suppose you could argue that the normal term of imprisonment for such a high level of tax evasion would be 10 years in prison – with at least 5 years to be served.
The average annual cost of keeping one person in prison in the UK stands at approximately £44,640 per year. ( https://www.callfromprison.co.uk/blog/how-much-does-it-cost-to-keep-a-uk-prisoner ) so if Rayner had to serve 5 years in prison the cost would be 5 x £44,640 = £223,,200.
So, if, instead of sending her to prison the state gave her £200,000 it would save the state £23,200.
Clearly this is the most sensible solution! It could be applied to all criminals – instead of ever sending them to prison one should give them 80% of the cost imprisonment would have cost.
Place thumb & forefinger on nose and squeeze nasal passage.. then read out loud in a whiny voice.. once in a while project hands in chopping like fashion. Never take eyes off text for added effect.

From the BBC's review of the front pages of today's news [or not] papers:
According to the i Weekend, Labour donor, Lord Alli, evicted a family from a property he owns in north London, before relisting the home and increasing the rent by £1,000 a month. This practice is due to be outlawed by the government next year. The family living there were reportedly told to leave at the end of their tenancy. A spokesperson for Lord Alli tells the paper the property was managed on his behalf and a source close to him says he wasn't involved in the decision-making process. Presumably another one whose desk doesn't have anything crossing it?
He's got a lot of expense coming his way when Starmer goes.
Kitting out a new PM isn't going to be cheap
What is so admirable about Labour supporters or Labour MPs is that when it comes to being landlords they are all heart!
As I posted here yesterday: 'Hypocrite' Labour donor 'evicted family from £3m townhouse before relisting it for an extra £1,000-a-month' despite party's crackdown on landlords. Lord Waheed Alli, who has donated more than £500,000 to Labour over the past two decades, had let the five-bed north London townhouse to the couple and their children for the past four years. He needs more money to buy new informal clothes for the prime minister and his wife when they leave Downing Street.
But Alli is not alone and when another Labour landlord did it the "l" was let loose!
Rushanara Ali has resigned as homelessness minister, Downing Street has confirmed. The move comes after she was accused of hypocrisy over the way she handled rent increases on a house she owns in east London.
Seems to be a common theme among these landlords.
Because they are registered with government departments and have certain types of friends, they know they can get away with it.

Those who enjoy cricket on television will, I hope, be pleased to learn that David 'Bumble' Lloyd is back in the Sky commentary pod giving us his unique and amusing comments about players and spectators alike during coverage of the T20 Blast finals day at Edgbaston. It was a pity when he stepped down from regular commentary a few years ago. I expect this will be a one-off return but it is, nonetheless, most welcome. Fingers crossed that he provides us with his comical running commentary during the mascots' obstacle race during the interval between the two semi-finals.
T20 really IS Tip and Run, n'est-ce pas?
More like a boundary-fest.
Bumble did do the commentary for the Mascot race, I'm pleased to say.
Torrential rain and thunder here as I type this.
I am a lifelong fan of test and country cricket. I don't mind the 50–60 over one-day game but I do not have any patience with the silly slog fests of kiddie cricket 'Twenty20' or the imbecilic 'Hundred'.
I still like Test Cricket the most – this summer's England v India series was one of the best I've ever seen!
I prefer T20 to 50 overs but I really dont care for the Hundred – ridiculously convoluted.
Although The Hundred – or metric cricket, as I call it – seems like a trivial format variation, there have been three points in its favour.
(i) It has given a boost to the women's game. Spectator numbers for women's matches, both in the arenas and at home, are now greater than before.
(ii) The format, because of its compact timescale, also attracts more overseas stars in both the women's and men's competitions.
(iii) It also encourages more families and youngsters to take an interest. The 40 fewer balls over the course of an evening permit a later start, just enough to encourage working parents to bring their children out for an evening's entertainment, especially as the tournament is confined to the school summer holidays.
I dont disagree that it will attract new people to watch cricket, and maybe that will help boost the other formats – it looks like it's here to stay, for sure.
Hmmmm. Maybe.
Not so much yesterday when England scored over 300 in the T20 v South Africa – more of a slog-fest! Impressive to watch though…
They had it in, oddly enough, in Dublin Airport’s Burger King. And my flight was delayed! So not all bad news.

He's a great commentator (and wasnt a bad player either, good Accrington lad), it's great to see him back.

Just reread Daniel Silva's book, The Messenger, and it paints a grim picture of Europe and the UK's future due to the growing Islamic diaspora as backdrop. And it was published 19 years ago. Worth a read.
If you want an eye-opener, read The Dagger of Islam by John Laffin. It was written in 1979 but to say it's prophetic is an understatement.

Grrr it wont let me upload
And now it’s raining!
Afternoon, all. Having a lazy day before a busy week. It's drizzling, so no point in trying to do anything in the garden. The dogs are trying to persuade me it's three o'clock so they can have their tea. I've got a nice fire going because it's only 15 degrees C outside. In our case, the GP surgery doesn't serve the needs of the patients because they amalgamated three surgeries into one without increasing the number of doctors available. If you're lucky they might ring you up if you've done an e-consult, but they won't bother seeing you, neither will they listen to you when you tell them that what they are suggesting has already been tried and proven not to work.
Plus the much feted anima only works Monday to Friday. So much for technology.
Yes, I'd noticed that; e-consult only available weekdays. Whatever you do, don't fall ill between 5pm Friday and 9am Monday!
It is why A&E is always swamped. And horrendous waiting times. After 11 hours i walked.
GP's should be made to cover weekends at their surgeries.
They used to, but Labour, I think, changed their contracts so they didn't have to. Guess what! They didn't any more.
You're right, Conners. Labour did change their contracts, which enabled them to opt out of working weekends.
Once a couple of years ago with my wife alongside me and my BP above 200 we waited 14 hours. But I had to go back to the reception nurse's station to remind them how long I'd been there.
They kept me in overnight and sent me home with a few extra drugs.
And never followed any thing up.
While i was waiting i watched others bedding down for the night in the waiting room. It’s why i left.
You should have stayed. You might have met a new friend…
We’ve been there and a family of more than four adults will arrive with on young child and the children always get priority no matter how long the adults have waited.
Of course at least five seats taken up.
The Warqueen put the blanket over the quilt yesterday. I didn't admit it, but it was quite nice.
Ha. If you were to tell her, she might stop doing it…
I gave in and filled a couple of hot water bottles last night.
I still have my lightweight summer quilt on the bed. Still warm here in southern Sweden.
Similar with doggo here. Raining, doesn't want to walk, just eat and sleep. Surgery? we don't know how many doctors we have, no-one sees them…only the Nurse Practitioner. Phone calls I'm told to go to A&E for antibiotic prescription.

Concerning the march, nice one Tommy, I have never seen so many white faces.
Will someone please explain to me how 'one in, one out' will make any difference. Thanks.
It won't. None in and tens of thousands out might. If only!
Worst aspect is he thinks he can get away with saying that, he and Macron embracing. Candace Owens convinced Mme is a Monsieur. Whatever, s/he old enough to know better.

Hope you’re doing ok, you old flying fox :-)) Kate x
Only 34 and an exceptionally accomplished woman. One to watch.
"I was a great fan of Candace Owens until she went mad."
Probably chomping on too much vegetation (like a few others I could mention!🙄).
I was greatly impressed when I read that she rose to the rank of VP (Vice President) at Goldman Sachs – Then I discovered that VPs in the banking and investment business number in their tens of thousands. I always had the impression that VPs were at the very top of the organisation. Still, not to be sneezed at, hundreds of thousands/millions don't reach such dizzy heights.
I had a mate who worked for a Yank Bank. He was a "Vice President". In reality, he was a bank clerk.
Almost every investment bank has people with such "high-falutin titles" VP-s, Presidents, Directors, Managing Directors.
Most are really only at the level of assistant branch manager or chief clerk in the real world. They seldom have many, if any people, who report to them, unless they work on the administrative side.
They get the title so it can go on their business cards to impress the bank's clients that they are dealing with someone important.
eg Rachel from Complaints
Lol i was a VP when i worked at a Yankee insurance company 20 years ago! (Now i am merely “Head of”)🙁
Ditto on both counts, Rastus
If I return to live in the UK will Starmer leave?

I miss cask-conditioned English ale (not that I'm a big drinker, I'm not). I also miss fish and chip shops, and eavesdropping on people speaking in a normal language.
Among a few other things.
I don’t think either the ale or the F&C are what they were. Normal language eh…the past is a foreign country, Grizz – they do things differently there. Would probably agree with your ‘other things’ too.
Locally F&C aren't that good and a decent outlet has to be searched for – one of the best provides F&C from a van – but ale has vastly improved in these parts. To mention a few local Brewers, Nethergate and Mauldons in Sudbury; Colchester Brewery at Wakes Colne and Mighty Oak at Maldon.
In addition there is a great 'wet' pub, The Albion, in a local village that brings in ales from all over the UK: it's one of our, four ex-BT managers, favourite watering holes on a Wednesday evening.
You may not be old enough to remember, Korky…the days when ladies always drank in the Snug. In my early teens I helped out with bbq at local pub, full of ‘working men’ on their way home, it was always draft there but beyond my capabilities to serve it. Occasionally there would be someone get a bit smart mouthed, the older ones would soon step on him. Not just the watering holes changed, so have (some) people.
I’m 76, but can’t recall pubs of my acquaintance having a “snug”. Usually it was a public bar and a saloon bar. However, I can recall that many women wouldn’t go to a pub unescorted. Times have changed.
Same age here, Korky. I worked in a very remote pub (open all hours, police would call for a drink), there was what was called a ‘snug’ but in reality both men and women would drink there, was really just a quiet room. I would stay overnight. Coaches would arrive early next day for full English, then onto the races or wherever. Then get ready for afternoon teas, which I would serve (but not make). It was tough, but I enjoyed i very much, the first money I earned. I’d say the majority of people were over 40 or 50, they were very kind to me and defensive of me if anyone wasn’t.
Another very different world today, KJ200. None of the three or four pubs I and my three chums visit have separate bars, they’ve all been opened up with dining areas added except the Albion in Rowhedge which remains a ‘wet’ pub. The landlord allows food to be brought in on the condition that drinks are purchased.
Indeed. ‘Family pubs’!
It's a lot of an obvious difference to when one watches their tv screens. Ogga.
Starmer is missing off the 'hundred thousands' of the 'in' deliberately.
Thank you wibbling. One gal you’ve pleased today, at least 🙂
Star Amir meant 1000 in one out.
Even the one out will be back in no time.
Perhaps he’s blocked you! I haven’t seen this particular discurse niggle.
I didn't know about it, either.
Telegraph says "More than 100,000 at Tommy rally"

So there must be many more than that and certainly the lefties are outnumbered.
It looks like a very peaceful crowd.
Fingers crossed the lefties don't start anything.
Or the police.
The official arm of the left!
Police say 110,000 marched for 'Unite the Kingdom today.
Elsewhere claims of 500,000+. Must go to BBC for exact number(sic).

Ref GPs – while we have some quite good service at times, the thing that gets me is one almost NEVER sees the same person twice running; and if one does they have NO memory of the earlier encounter.
Throughout my adult life, I have always been used to seeing one doctor (at whichever practice I was dependent on) who knew me by name, knew the ailments from which I suffered, and whom, certainly latterly I was on first name terms with.
It is an indictment of modern medical training that the old-fashioned "know your patient" ideal has gone for good.
It's the same, here, Bill. I have never seen the same medic twice. Usually it's a nurse practitioner and I don't see the same one of those twice running, either.
No wonder A&E always packed. Triage system, easily spend hours there, take a book (or mobile phone).
Most people are in A&E because they can't see a GP. The only time I've been to A&E has genuinely been an accident (falling off Coolio) or an emergency (taken ill when away from home). I've never been because I can't see a GP; I treat most things myself.
I had a tick bite which developed the bullseye ring, a sign of possibly infection, have had antibiotics previously for same thing. Wouldn’t give me one, I felt sorry for the receptionist ‘I apologise, I’ve been told to tell you to go to A&E’..so off I went, seen 2 and a half hours later, BP high by then, another queue in Pharmacy…half the day spent for a simple repeat request. I treat most things myself too.
How is Coolio?
I haven’t seen him recently. Last time I did, he had a bad back.
Oh poor love. Let’s hope his vet was able to help.
Probably the physio.
Yes. I go so seldom that none of the current doctors know me. I think J's seen most of them now.
When I was growing up we had a family doctor who knew all of us and seemed to be on call 24/7. Many year later, on reading his obit, I discovered that was in addition to his duties as a church warden. His brother was our family dentist.
It happens over here as well. Our GP retired a year ago and although we were on the books of a new doctor, we kept seeing locums who did no more than pat you on the head and order a blood test! Follow up would be with a different doctor who just repeated the process.
Finally the new GP started, several quick consultations, two CT scans and all of those dismissed issues are now getting attention.
Actually for the Canadian system we were lucky. If he had just retired without organizing the newcomer, we would have been at the back of a three or four waiting list to get a GP, our only access to healthcare would have been through A&E at the local hospital!
In Brittany three weeks ago there were STILL signs (which had been there last year) in two separate villages begging for a GP to come and work.
Six figure bribes to get doctors to move to rural areas over here.
Time and population, I think. Just too many people to have that level of interaction.

An Ottawa judge has granted a conditional discharge to a woman who attacked her elderly neighbours in their home, causing them injury. Manon Rail pleaded guilty to unlawfully entering the apartment of Margaret and Thomas Keogh and assaulting them while they were trying to have dinner. The judge gave her a conditional discharge because a criminal record would affect her employment in the public school system.

An estimated 2 to 3 million are at the Unite the Kingdom rally in London with a sea of flags – Wakefield News.
Hard to believe but nearer than the Met Police estimate.
A question. Why would the PR department of the Met produce figures to justify or play down the attendance?
Oh, i know…social cohesion.

An old trick. Do you think that's what happened?
Nothing surprises me about the Metropolitan Perlice Farce. Nothing.
There seemed to be many more vehicles parked up on street than it would take to deliver the 'riot squad'.
Sounds believable.
They have that many white officers?
That’s a point .
Let this sink in. There is no “far-Right”, “extreme-Right” (or “hard-Right” come to that). This invented comical fiction is nothing more than an illusion, created by socialists, to distinguish themselves from their ideological enemies who they have chosen to label as “fascists”. The fact is, though, that both socialists and fascists are products of the far-Left wing of the spectrum of political ideology. Whilst the mobs of Antifa, and their ilk, are generally accepted to be liberals on the far-Left (which, indubitably, does exist), the exact same can be said of their ideological opposites, whom they have conveniently — but erroneously — dubbed “fascists”.
Those who revel in mob-handedness, ergo those who believe that the only way to enforce their own agendæ is by rioting in the name of ‘the People’, may exist in a number of different forms, creeds and calling, many of which are a polar opposite of others. No matter how much each of those groups hate, loathe, detest or simply name-call one another, the irrebuttable (irrefutable) fact is that they are all of a totalitarian bent and all come from the Left.
Hitler, Mussolini and Stalin all despised capitalism; Hitler and Stalin even formed the Nazi-Soviet Pact to counter it. Their creeds of communism and fascism shared similar beliefs: both demanding totalitarian state control, subjugation of the Jews, and a complete loathing of individualism.
On the true Right of the political pendulum is conservatism, which values the rights of the individual, encourages innovation and a hard work ethic, and values freedom. True conservatives and capitalists do not form gangs, march, and seek to terrorise those who do not espouse their beliefs. They are patriots who simply get on with working hard to better themselves, their families and their country.
By all means allow the ragtag mobs of socialists, communists and fascists of the far-Left annihilate one another in their quest for liberal superiority. Just don’t let them refer to peaceful, innovative and entrepreneurial conservatives and capitalists as the “far-Right” or “fascists”. They are far from it.
“Fascism and Communism are not two opposites, but two rival gangs fighting over the same territory, based on the collectivist principle that man is the rightless slave of the state.”

Alice O'Connor (born Alisa Zinovyevna Rosenbaum; (1905 – March 6, 1982), better known by her pen name, Ayn Rand .Russian-born American writer and philosopher. Died aged 77.

Her writings have an Orwell flavour. 'Atlas Shrugged' describes the times we live in now from the perspective of 1957.
Fascism is simply the craving ot use political power to achieve personal ends. It was started by an Italian called Gentile (gen-ti-lay).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giovanni_Gentile
However, the artcile describes Mussolini as 'Right wing' so is deeply biased.
Dinesh D’Souza, of Prager University, explains succinctly what fascism really is and how the philosophy came about. He tells us:
“He’s a fascist!”
“For decades, this has been a favourite smear of the Left, aimed directly at those on the Right, or (erroneously and witlessly) at others on the Left who have an opposing point of view. Every American Republican president—for that matter, virtually every Republican—since the 1970s has been called a fascist; nowadays, this happens more than ever.
This label is based on the notion — the false assumption — that fascism is a phenomenon of the political Right. The Left says it is, and — unfortunately — some self-styled ‘white supremacists’ and neo-Nazis witlessly embrace the label.
But are they correct? To answer this question, we have to ask what fascism really means: What is its underlying ideology? Where does it even come from?
These are not easy questions to answer. We know the name of the philosopher of Capitalism: Adam Smith. We know the name of the philosopher of Marxism: Karl Marx. But who’s the philosopher of Fascism?
Yes—exactly. You don’t know? Don’t feel bad. Almost no one knows. This is not because he doesn’t exist, but because historians, most of whom are on the political Left, had to erase him from history in order to avoid confronting fascism’s actual beliefs. So, let me introduce him to you. His name is Giovanni Gentile.
Born in 1875, he was one of the world’s most influential philosophers in the first half of the twentieth century. Gentile believed that there were two “diametrically opposed” types of democracy. One is liberal democracy, such as that of the United States, which Gentile dismisses as individualistic — too centred on liberty and personal rights — and therefore selfish. The other, the one Gentile recommends, is what he considered to be “true democracy” in which individuals willingly subordinate themselves to the state.
Like his philosophical mentor, Karl Marx, Gentile wanted to create a community that resembles the family, a community where we are “all in this together.” It’s easy to see the attraction of this idea. Indeed, it remains a common rhetorical theme of the Left.
For example, at the 1984 convention of the Democratic Party, the governor of New York, Mario Cuomo, likened America to an extended family where, through the government, people all take care of each other.
Nothing’s changed. Twenty-eight years later, a slogan of the 2012 Democratic Party convention was, “The government is the only thing we all belong to.” They might as well have been quoting Gentile.
Now, remember, Gentile was a man of the Left. He was a committed socialist. For Gentile, fascism is a form of socialism; indeed, its most workable form. While the socialism of Marx mobilises people on the basis of class; fascism mobilises people by appealing to their national identity as well as their class. Fascists are socialists with a national identity. German Fascists in the 1930s were called Nazis—basically a contraction of the term “national socialist.”
For Gentile, all private action should be oriented to serve society; there is no distinction between the private interest and the public interest. Correctly understood, the two are identical. And who is the administrative arm of the society? It’s none other than the State. Consequently, to submit to society is to submit to the state; not just in economic matters, but in all matters. Since everything is political, the state gets to tell everyone how to think and what to do.
It was another Italian, Benito Mussolini, fascist dictator of Italy from 1922 to 1943 who turned Gentile’s words into action. In his La Dottrina Del Fascismo, one of the doctrinal statements of early fascism, Mussolini wrote: “All is in the State and nothing human exists or has value outside the State.” He was merely paraphrasing Gentile.
The Italian philosopher is now lost in obscurity; but his philosophy could not be more relevant because it closely parallels that of the modern Left. Gentile’s work speaks directly to progressives who champion the centralised State. Here in America, the Left has vastly expanded state control over the private sector, from healthcare to banking to education to energy. This state-directed capitalism is precisely what German and Italian fascists implemented in the 1930s.
Leftists can’t acknowledge their man, Gentile, because that would undermine their attempt to bind conservatism to fascism. Conservatism wants small government so that individual liberty can flourish. The Left, like Gentile, wants the opposite: to place the resources of the individual and industry in the service of a centralised State. To acknowledge Gentile is to acknowledge that fascism bears a deep kinship to the ideology of today’s Left. So they will keep Gentile where they’ve got him: dead, buried and forgotten. But we should remember, or the ghost of fascism will continue to haunt us.”

Liar Liar pants on fire🔥 plenty of practice as a 'journo'.
Why is it 'right wing'? Why are the nutjob Leftists never called 'Hard Left'? Why are the socialist worker types never branded 'neo Nazis'?
At lunch time dear old Auntie was referring to the March as "Alt-Right" . Presumably this invokes a vision of even further Right people-threatening-democracy-and-therefore-legitimate targets-for-lethal-violence?
I was on the sidelines chatting to a young lad from Barcelona who was wondering what was going on. So i told him: the ordinary people are fed up with our Government and the lack of free speech and the cover-up over the rape gangs. Bless him. Nice boy.

Forgive me if this has already been posted – but, following on from the Midwife's excellent speech about the Legal Killing Bill – here is another (from an unlikely person – speaking extempore.
https://youtu.be/fMn5hWr4Zag
If it is passed, it will do for the elderly and vulnerable what the abortion act did for the unborn.
Legalised killing for convenience.
I honestly don't know. A dear friend had Alzheimers. His wife watched him deteriorate to nothing. A biological machine without the guiding intelligence of the great man he was.
There's no life there for either party. Joy kept him going, kept his biomechanical systems operating. She fed him, clothed him but where was her husband? It looked like John, sounded like John in the mumbling and confused announcements but it was not the man who taught me to play Lemmings.
Would she have simply killed him off? Life no – but what if he had stipulated what he wanted?
MOH repeatedly expressed a wish to die. I couldn’t have granted it.
I just look at the abortion act.
Abortion statistics for England and Wales 2020[152]
Primary ground Number % Notes
Grounds A/F/G 98 0.05 Risk to life of pregnant woman (or in emergencies)
Ground B 31 0.01 Prevent grave permanent injury to pregnant woman
Ground C 206,768 98.1 Risk of injury to physical/mental health of pregnant woman
Ground D 778 0.37 Risk of injury to physical/mental health of other children
Ground E 3,185 1.51 Physical or mental abnormality in unborn child
Total 210,860 100.0
Nearly all (99.9%) of abortions carried out under Ground C alone were reported as being performed because of a risk to the woman's mental health and were classified as F99 (mental disorder, not otherwise specified) under the ICD-10 classification system.[2]
My bold.
I've posted the act and some statistics.
I can see the killing of the elderly, the infirm, the "I don't want to be a burden" mounting similarly.
People are quite happy with this yet vehemently oppose the death penalty.
I can honestly see numerous situations whereby I would be very thankful for an assisted dying alternative (terminal illness, serious dementia etc etc) and I'm sure there are thousands and thousands like me.
The obvious concern is 'mission creep' and potential abuse by the Powers That Be – however, that really should not prevent the concept being developed and considered, I believe it's something that has to happen at some point in the future……
It will happen in the future. So will mission creep.
I'm sure that will be the case – however, I find it hard to believe we cannot set up a system that can control and moderate all aspects of this with robust and appropriate checks and balances.
Just because it's hard doesnt mean we shouldnt do it!
PS I happen to be 100% against the death penalty and, despite some efforts to maintain an equivalence here (which I think is nonsense), they are totally different things – we must surely have the agency to determine our own mortality…
I am sure that safeguards can be put in place, but I doubt they will be. Looking at the legislation over the last few decades and how badly drafted it has been with unintended consequences, does not inspire me with confidence.
So can I.
But I will bet my £10 to your brass farthing that there will quickly be doctors, “known on the grapevine” who will happily sign the appropriate paperwork to get rid of the inconvenient, and those who wish to expedite Granny’s inheritance.
I can equally see care homes, where there are no known relatives, clearing space.
I have a will thing that says when I can no longer read a book or wipe my bum, I want to be killed. I don't see the point of a life without some measure of pride. I understand many folk have overcome far worse and they are stronger than I am, but those are where I draw the line of my life.
A living will?
I think that's the term.
To prolong your life, you could wipe your bum with pages from your book
As long as it isn’t the koran.
Totally and utterly agree……

The Leftists couldn't just bugger off, could they? They had to cause trouble, cause violence and hurt people.
The BBC "report" blames all violence on the "unite the Kingdom" marchers – what a surprise! They also managed to get the "Yaxley-Lennon" bit into the report!
Set Up
"the MET Police direct a crowd of patriots the wrong way, they come up against barriers separating them from the radicalised left hate demo, when they try to go other ways to get to the official rout, they find themselves block by the MET in all directions. So they are kettled and facing aggression from the hate demo the unions created.
So has this happened deliberately to ferment an incident that will be reported as patriots breaking from the rout and causing confrontation?
Fortunately GBNews has the scoop on on it and the patriots clearly asking how to return to the official rout but Police refusing to facilitate it."
Police incompetence or malicious pre-planned event? Humm? Difficult to distinguish between the two.
The Plod i saw certainly weren’t friendly. Doing their best to be nasty. imho.
Edit. To me, anyway. I explained i was simply an old-ish woman coming to show my support. (I am not easily intimidated). But they weren’t nice, barking out orders, i likened them to the Stasi and that was 2 pm.
Some twit BBC reporter (Wray?) saying that only 100,000 persons attended, not the million claimed by organisers or the 3 million promised by TR.
I reckon there were more than a million attending and likely nearer 2 million.
The BBC just cannot help itself.
They’ve had practice; the Liberty and Livelihood marches were similarly downplayed.
Yeah but no. Everyone on the march just looking to have a good time.

Turning Point Slams Starmer and Lammy After Kirk Assassination
Turning Point UK – the British arm of Kirk’s Turning Point USA – has hit out at Starmer and the Labour government:
“Your Deputy Prime Minister, David Lammy, described us and Charlie as ‘sinister forces’ and ‘xenophobic’. Other Labour MPs have protested with violent far-left activists who attacked us. Oo-er!
Lucky you!
How lovely are these, Ndovu…did you plant them or are they the 'wild' variety?
Bit of both really – some I planted over the years but they've seeded and spread. I love them. When the flowers have gone over and the leaves appear, they are beautifully marked and last all winter.
I’m going to try and find some to buy locally, if not I’ll be able to order online. Thanks for info 🙂
Hi Jools. You asked me about my impending retirement. Short answer is that my contract terminates, without notice, on the fifth anniversary of 1st October 2020.
The "great and good" of the Parish think they don't need me. I hope they succeed with their assembly of volunteers, but I'm sceptical.
I've identified a new place of worship, a short walk from Guildford Station. Prolly won't go until I can actually read an order of service, but they stream services on YouTube, and so far, so good.
Meanwhile, there's much enthusiasm among the volunteers. I pray that they succeed, since I'm unlikely to return to help them out of the hole they've created.
I'm willing to continue with printing for the parisn, not least because it just paid a couple of hundred quid for a set of toner cartridges, in addition to several reams of paper.
Moving the machine elsewhere needs a Transit-sized van, at least.
Good luck with a new church and I hope that once you've gone that they don't ruin what is there now, even if they've brought it upon themselves
Thanks, Sos. St Nicks in Guildford looks attractive. Rather further “up the candle”, but I’m OK with that.
They’d like to oust the current Rector, but he’s utterly secure until he reaches CofE retirement age in 30 months’ time.
HG is a very committed Christian and takes her worship seriously.
I’m a late confirmed Anglican but still question things.
The Anglican church in Aquitaine is many and varied, to say the least, so I sort of understand where you’re coming from and what you’re testing the waters (ho ho) with.
I hope the new one suits you, they may have won an unexpected prize in their congregation!
Try not to crow when they come running back to you begging you to return……..

Geddaway!! For what possible reason did 2Tier/Downing Street think that Mandelbum would change the habits of a lifetime and start telling the truth???

I believe that most of us were already aware that the Labour government, currently run by Starmer, is rotten, useless and incompetent from top to bottom. This latest story that Starmer 'did not know' about Mandelson's e-mails to Epstein because his No10 officials under McSweeney did not show them to him, can either be thought extremely improbable OR displays, yet again, the incredible incompetence of this Labour government – no matter which idiot will wheeled in to replace the buffoon, Human Rights lawyer!
Tomorrow:
"I have full confidence in my confidence tricksters."
"I have full confidence in my successor."
Unless they are a member of my party…

McSweeney is one of “them”. He is the person who pushed Starmer into appointing Mandelson to the US Ambassador position.
I strongly suspect that McSweeney is the crown maker. He does appear to have a certain omnipotence in the affairs of the present Labour government. I also strongly suspect that McSweeney and Mandelson have a long association albeit kept from us by their underhand concealments.
That's me for today. Quick shop for grand-daughter feeding. Then to Gresham's to see former pupils – those who left in 2005. So they are all 38/39. The women are mainly Yummy Mummies – the chaps "in business". Mostly women turned up, though one of the chaps, of whom the MR and I were very fond – he was a brilliant debater – did make the trip from London. A delight to see him.
Then the hail and rain and now bright sunshine, though more rain may arrived.
Have a spiffing evening.

Metropolitan Police officers claim Tommy supporters are wanton violent protesters. We have arrested at least nine of the 200 thousand plus thugs which descended on the peaceful environs of multi-faith London today. We will not tolerate such barbaric behaviour.
Usual stitch up.
Don't fall for that nonsense.. Elizabeth Haigh (she/her) is a sh1tstirrer.
Just don't look at the Notting Hill Carnival crime statistics.

I shall be interested to see how many shops have been looted and how much graffiti has been sprayed by the Faaaar Right protesters compared to the typical Refugees Welcome, Anti-fa, Stand up to Racism and BLM protests.

COMMENT PATRICK MAGUIRE
Is this the end for Morgan McSweeney?
Labour’s calamitous start to life in government has exposed Starmer’s chief of staff to scrutiny like never before
Morgan McSweeney:
"I tried, but cursed harmer's desk has magic properties that prevent anything passing across it"
I understand Starmer's office has confirmed Starmer read the reports prior to confirming Mandelson appt.
Two tier policing?

Two-tier policing?
By any other name I would call it civil war.
As I understand it though, if there are two groups you manage the smaller one rather than the bigger group.
I do NOT like how plod are not facing the Leftists. They're the problem. They wanted to cause problems.
The "leftists" are off duty perlice.
Give over!
Stir up the leftists and you get riots, looting and God knows what damage.
Easier to satisfy the left by capturing a few on our side of the divide.
One day the dam will break.
Plod there in multitude and at least 3 helicopters overhead
Attended today's march. All I saw was good-natured and peaceful people. Numbers seemed huge. Will be interested to see what figure results from drone analysis. It must be much larger than the 110,000 mooted so far. There were so many that police were turning us away from Whitehall, when we got there, as insufficient space for more than a tiny fraction to hear speeches. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/2856f08474c99c6c3bd644a5f24ac2257fb2728fc1f4dfbccc03951913851fef.jpg . https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/a5a5cefb8b083d4e91ca75f7b247e812601f23ae82fd89e8fa2d2e6fba991480.jpg https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/5e01d30f35c489dfda7021c934cb10e2d526606fe022becf5cb409ae1f22f089.jpg https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/bf4e0abcea83e7b7cb988646badc33f1821f36717b733cca21eed9498e5dcc4b.jpg
Well done!
Thank you for being there to represent how I feel and what I believe.
Very good to read, Old Man. I didn't attend, journey too difficult, but I saw footage on GBN and that's what I saw too.

Evening VOM,
Good on yer,
110,000 plus a multitude, then a great many more.
Well done. It was too far and too long a walk for me and the dogs would have been trampled underfoot. I couldn’t have left them at home.
Whatever the MSM tells you will be a lie.
Glad it went off well.
Thank you. I was there – not for the whole thing – and appreciate the pictures.

David 'Bumble' Lloyd has been encouraging and leading the drunken revellers in Edgbaston's Hollis Stand to have a bit of a sing-song. Mr Brightside and, inevitably, Sweet Caroline were featured. It's lovely to have the silly old sod back in harness. Cricket commentary hasn't been the same without him. Amongst the costumed spectators we've had Captain Hook, Tinkerbell, Smurfs, traffic cones, bananas and a wonderful time is being had by all. We've had sunshine, downpours and rainbows. It's difficult to think of a more joyous occasion in the British sporting calendar than T20 Blast finals day at Edgbaston, Birmingham.
Ahh, my Edgsbaston days. Fondly remembered.

Sorry Johnny but Right wing (conservative) means small government and freedom within a Nation State in the context of Great Britain. You are arguing for a definition the post war Marxists use to distance themselves from the same Collectivism that underpins Communism, Fascism and National Socialism.
There is no “far-Right”.

The Proms ,
How quickly a year moves on .. the Proms .. always some memory , some tear drops , pulse racing .. We have been overseas and listened to taped Proms , a reminder of England and the beautiful music orchestras play, choirs sing and conductors solemnly or excitedly leading the orchestra ..
I would loved to have been present at the Royal Albert Hall , but you know the comfort of one's own chair or sofa is timeless, or the weirdness of a veranda, and the clicking of cicada's.. and feeling homesick.
The talented musicians on TV have filled the room with wonderful sounds ..
I hope we are still around to enjoy next years offering .
Post this in the correct place:-
I am put off watching by the gushing hyper excited commentary from the BBC.
Incidentally, the 1st time I saw the Last Night on TV was when Constance Shacklock sang Rule Britannia.
AND it's on Youtube!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xd8Xeg9jgy4
Just an observation:
Did anyone else notice how few of the marchers on the Tommy Robinson, spit, aka Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, vomit, /sarc were wearing masks?
As opposed to the BLM protesters on earlier "manifestations" where masks are almost compulsory.

Last night or the march?
Have you replied to the wrong post?
Bugger Wrong Post!
Easily done.
To be honest, if I was there I'd be wearing a mask – there will be a massive information gathering exercise taking place to ensure everybody there is now labelled as 'Faaaaaar Right' and subject to potential future penal measures.
I’d be wearing a burka. I’d be untouchable.
You are John Simpson, and I claim my £5!!

Let's have the truth, you'd be wearing a mask so that you didn't frighten the natives!
Unfortunately yes, when I was born I was that ugly the midwife slapped my Mother…….
Blimey, I thought she’d retired, she did the same to my mother.
Bir late in my case 🙂
Masks you say….
Not so much

Good to see you here AA – hope you're keeping well, buddy!
Good tidings to you 4G. Likewise I hope you too are well. I try to pop over to Nottlertown when I can to take in the waters. I value the insights. I am often in the parish of Free Speech Backlash, all are welcome.
Yes I look in at FreeSpeechBacklash reasonably regularly but dont contribute much these days – you start to realise just how much bloody time you’re spending on social media!

Fewer stabbings, drugs busts and sexual assaults i expect.
Totally, completely, and utterly off topic.
I was wondering why I had been to the Albert Hall, assuming it must have been for a prom, and it struck me that it was for the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Budokwai, a Judo club in London.
Intrigued by the memory I looked it up.
Couldn't find anything about the 50th but found this:
https://www.britishjudo.org.uk/celebrating-100-years-budokwai-british-judo/
Jacks was my coach at school and I used to practise randori with Angelo, possibly one of the best Judo players ever, at the Budokwai when I was in the London U20's squad. I was coached by a Ray Stevens, possibly his father?
Strange how memories come flooding back for the strangest of reasons
Ah, remind me not to pick a fight with you. Mind you, I practise a bit of Kendo with my 5' walking stick.
I stopped 50 years ago.
Laughing aside, I once got hit by a motorbike and the instinctive breakfall saved me from very serious injury.
George Kerr ran the Edinburgh club when I used to train there; amazing range of talent there, sadly not including me!!
I was working in Tokyo and on my last night I was talking to a Japanese colleague.
It turned out he was a member at the Kodokan and he could have taken me there for a training session.
One of the greatest missed opportunities of my life.
Goodnight everyone.
Plenty of diversity on stage tonight for the Last Night of the Proms…………not sure about the bloke impersonating Freddy Mercury…….he's a bit dark……..
I cannot face the revised Last Night of the Proms. The BBC in its betrothal to dissonance and pop culture lost it to me years ago.
I could just about accept the occasional oddball clatter stuffed between the great works of Mozart, Beethoven and Brahms but the whole enterprise has been captured by morons and as a result it has lost its purpose viz. a celebration of British culture and great classical music.
We gave up after the Queen pastiche. Needed an early night anyway.
Dies anyone care about this anymore? And today of all days?
How did it go? Was it 110, 000 or 3 million?
The left are trying to "anti-Kirk" todays protests.

Desperate fair.
Not too early, he'll have a cardiac arrest…
7a.m it is then.
Oh Well I'm orff to sleep now. Not done anything thing of merit today but I managed to stay with it.
Good night all Nottlers sleep well. 😴
Oh bugger.
Crush at the March, injuries and some are reporting possible fatalities.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eW2m8-tNnog
Why hasn't this been all over the MSM, they would by dying to report this.
I think this video is utter crap.
I'm prepared to be wrong, but this stinks.
Oh no. When i saw it, admittedly at 2:30 pm, it was good natured but crowded. Khunt is, well, a Khunt. Wow. 3 million people. Loved it. Loads of us.
Re today's marches
And when thousands and thousands of Muslims take over our streets to pray, in a show of force, is anyone allowed to object?
Can groups march through their ranks protesting?
Of course not.
It's a gross and malevolent biased system of policing.
Hear hear.
No. The plod i saw was OK but clearly on the alert to go in. I wouldn’t trust them.
What an excellent day of cricket. T20 I know, but still good entertainment. It helps when you support a west country team.
The wimmins Rugby, whilst one sided, was entertaining too.
I'll have to give it a try…
Tomorrow the European sides gets to fight.
England and France to go through is where my money is.
Sorry, I was slow on the uptake there.
You mean you're converted?
I will actually have a look.
The Canada SA game was especially entertaining.
Not a hook?
What with you being a fish!

WWhy?
Cameroon has oil and gas as well as significant hydro electric power generation.
You would think that they couldn't handle their corruption or summat.
We already know how anti british stupid and utterly useless our government is, they don't need to provide proof on a daily basis.
Hell hath no fury like the scorn of a pooftah. Mandelson will likely take down Starmer.
That a KC, a supposedly senior advocate and former Director of Public Prosecutions, allegedly failed to read his brief before endorsing his mentor, Peter Mandelson, ought in a normal world to be grounds for resignation.
Some say the Clintons have stolen billions from US taxpayers. Those ghastly people loved Blair, Hillary herself thought David Miliband “handsome” (well by comparison with his brother I suppose he is) and still no one has linked these shits to Macs weeny. (?).
Well, it's now my bedtime, so I will wish you all "Good Night". Sleep well, and I hope to see you all bright and early tomorrow morning.
Night all. It’s been a busy day. The One True Sport, the Unite the Nation March and Book Club at my place. Looking forward to catching up on what i have missed today.
Good morning, all – Sunday’s new page is here .
Good morning and thank you Geoff.
