Good Morning Folks
Cloudy damp start here again.
Campaigners fear far-right ‘defence’ of statues such as Churchill’s. Wed 10 Jun 2020 20.24 BST.
Some fear that police could be put in the difficult situation of having to keep two sets of protesters apart while trying to maintain public order.
Tim Newburn, professor of criminology at the London School of Economics, said: “That could become extremely problematic, because what happens is that the police start to look like they are protecting the smaller of the two groups, which is likely to be the far right.”
Morning again everyone. That I would like to see. Lol! Much more likely is that they will turn on them.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/jun/10/far-right-protesters-plan-defence-of-statues-such-as-churchills
So defending statues is far right now but tearing them down is the new normal.
Anything that offends or denies the long held truths and facts understood by the people becomes the new normal e.g. the ‘trans’ phenomenon, mass immigration/multiculturalism strengthens the Country and now this latest uprising.
The police will be ordered to turn on the mythical far right aka ordinary people fed up with the current nonsense.
So – who are the mythical “Far Right”, then? Or, does disagreement with the methods of BLM fascists make me “Far Right”?
Morning Oberst. Actually it does. The far-Right label is just a way of disenfanchising the views of the Main Stream!
The police will be ordered to turn on the mythical far right aka ordinary people fed up with the current nonsense.
‘Morning, Minty, Professor of Criminology at the LSE – says it all about his politics and then he bumbles on about ‘far-right’.
A total left libtard who probably purchased his professorship as the price of accepting Common Purpose brain-washing.
There is no far right. There are two groups of racists shouting abuse at one another.
Shut down the aggressive black racists and the white ones will go away.
The new world order doesn’t even mind everyone realising what is going on now they are so all powerful
Ferguson back on the news saying that if we had all locked down a week earlier we could have prevented 50% of the deaths.
It’s the Campbell- Mandelson effect, apparently a well known phenomenon.
No one questioned (that I heard) the Bonking Boffin over his remarkable failures in the past, and particularly his dire predictions of several hundred thousand Covid deaths.
‘Morning, B3. If this is the start of his media rehab, it certainly won’t wash in Janus Towers. He should get lost, and take his dodgy modelling with him.
Now they are calling for black history to be taught in schools, not sure how far back they will go.
But i hope they cover where Arabs enslaved and sold them.
Not sure that that particular trade has ended, Bob3.
It hasn’t.

I don’t expect that they will be covering recent history, maybe the period after colonial times.
After all, the tribe archives will have detailed written records of those transactions.
Morning all
SIR – Wouldn’t it be nice if protesters placed a wreath at the memorial next to the Houses of Parliament to Thomas Fowell Buxton, William Wilberforce, Thomas Clarkson and others in thanks for their efforts to abolish slavery against strong opposition?
Sir John Lushington Bt
Barrington, Somerset
SIR – It was in Britain that the moral enormity of black slavery was first acknowledged and acted upon. First, back in 1772, Lord Mansfield gave his landmark judgment that slavery was illegal within Britain, meaning that any black slaves who landed here automatically became free.
Soon after this, Granville Sharp, Thomas Clarkson and William Wilberforce spearheaded the primarily Christian Evangelical campaign to make the slave trade illegal. This was finally carried into law in 1807, followed in 1833 by abolition of slavery itself in all British dominions.
Britain has been acknowledging that “Black lives matter” since the 18th century.
Dr Allan Chapman
Oxford
Advertisement
SIR – As a black person, how could I not endorse the statement “Black lives matter”? Yet, if the intention is to highlight social injustice – including that experienced by black people – then surely, it would be sensible to adopt a more representative statement that “All lives matter”.
Young and old, black and white, and people of all classes should not seek to eradicate history by destroying its representation in bronze or stone. We have nothing to fear but ignorance of our past. The destruction of historical statues or monuments will not lead to better-informed citizens.
Paul Jones
Maidstone, Kent
SIR – In the United Kingdom there remains a virtual cloak of silence over the continuing economic legacy of the trade in African peoples.
It is an open secret that the bankers Barings, the Church of England, members of the Royal family, West India Dock, even something as mundane as the RNLI all profited from the blood-soaked proceeds of slavery. The trade was essential to the very structure of capitalism as we know it.
The Slavery Abolition Act in 1833 saw the largest bailout in British history (before the banking crisis and coronavirus). It paid out to planters and owners £20 million, or in today’s money £23 billion. This fiscal stimulus built railways, hospitals, banking dynasties and political dynasties, embedding the brutal legacy of slavery into the very fabric of British society.
And if that legacy, and the racism it begets, cannot be discussed and, yes, apologised for, then young people will feel fully justified in tearing down those monuments to murder that they are expected to walk past every day.
Deryck Browne
Chief Executive, African Health Policy Network
London E7
SIR – If demonstrators want the statue of Cecil Rhodes to be effaced from Oriel College, Oxford, do they also desire the termination of Rhodes Scholarships, which give disadvantaged young people the opportunity to study at the university?
Gillian Gallannaugh
Waldron, East Sussex
SIR – The Left will be cock-a-hoop at the chance to obliterate all traces of our imperial past. The next controversy will be about who should now be commemorated.
Perhaps new statues should be made of a material like glass fibre so that they can be easily replaced when they too, in turn, go out of fashion.
David Vaudrey
Doynton, Gloucestershire
SIR – When all the statues deemed offensive are removed, what’s next?
Stuart Noyes
Andover, Hampshire
SIR – Will book burning be next? Throw Robinson Crusoe, Tom Sawyer, The Jungle Book and Gone with the Wind on the fire!
Ian Watson
Warlingham, Surrey
SIR – Just over a month ago the Queen said: “Our streets are not empty; they are filled with the love and the care that we have for each other.”
What went wrong?
Tristram C Llewellyn Jones
Shrewsbury
SIR – I have yet to walk down the aisle, but I already feel like a jilted bride.
My wedding is just a few weeks away, but we still have no government guidance on whether our reduced congregation of close family will be allowed into the church, whether we can sing hymns, or whether our vows will have to be heard muffled through face masks.
Seeing crowds protesting without regard for such restrictions makes my day seem even more of a mockery.
Georgina Haszlakiewicz

SIR – Why are schools talking about reopening “before the summer holidays”? Children’s education is too important to allow another long break.
Schools should redesign their term times to catch up, even if that means a short autumn break.
Huw Wynne-Griffith
London W8
SIR – Gavin Williamson, the Education Secretary, has made a mess of things.
Under-15s are at almost zero risk. This has been known since April, and backed up by the Government’s own statistics. Why, then, has Mr Williamson proceeded otherwise?
With clear advice, most parents would have accepted a swift return. Mr Williamson could then have taken on the teachers’ unions and tackled the question of teachers’ health.
Ernie Cochrane
Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire
‘Cos, Mr Cochrane, Williamson is a completely useless plonker. His demotion from Defence, so richly deserved, should have been to the back benches.
‘Morning, Hugh, send Hancock to join him, his half-hours are not funny in the least, just BS and bluster about the (flawed) science.
When it comes to schools, I’m in the Rod Liddle school of thought.
Add universities to the list.
‘Support bubbles’ mean adults living alone can join another household from Saturday. 11 June 2020.
Grandparents will be able to hug their grandchildren for the first time since the lockdown began under new measures announced by Boris Johnson.
From Saturday, adults living alone will be able to form a “support bubble” with one other household, Mr Johnson said. They would be allowed to “act as if they live in the same household” and would not have to follow the two-metre social distancing rule.
Isn’t that nice? It makes fiddle playing look like demented panic. I’m not absolutely certain how dim Johnson and his cabinet really are or how much is due to their being prisoners of a Civil Service that despises them and everything they stand for; Brexit primarily of course, but being closet racists a close second. Whatever, the result is the same, a government that exists in name only. It cannot close its own borders or prevent the illegal unrest taking place on its own streets so it mouths inanities about measures against the virus, a debate that was over a fortnight ago. The only important thing to know about it is, when it will go, and when will it be replaced by the Labour Revolutionary Council!
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/06/10/support-bubbles-mean-adults-living-alone-can-join-another-household/
Schools say they cannot possibly cope with social distancing, I’m sure it could be done with a little imagination.
Even if children were in for half a day or half the week.
Why not just have one subject taught each day with half the children in.
A thought provoking passage written by an Englishman about the current situation in HIS homeland – this is thought provoking and is equally relevant in any other (once) white country.
I have been wondering about why whites are racists, and no other race is?
There are British Africans, British Chinese, British Asian, British Turks, etc, etc, etc.
And then there are just British. You know what I mean, plain ole English people that were born here. You can include the Welsh, the Scottish and the people who live off our shores of Great Britain.
You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you. So why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?
You have the Muslim Council of Great Britain.
You have Black History Month.
You have swimming pools for Asian women.
You have Islamic banks for Muslims only.
You have year of the dragon day for Chinese people.
If we had a White Pride Day, you would call us racists.
If we had White History Month, we’d be racists.
If we had any organization for only whites to ‘advance’ OUR lives, we’d be racists.
A white woman could not be in the Miss Black Britain or Miss Asia, but any colour can be in the Miss UK.
If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships, you know we’d be racists.
There are over 200 openly proclaimed Muslim only schools in England. Yet if there were ‘White schools only’, that would be racist!
In the Bradford riots and Toxteth riots, you believed that you were standing-up for your race and rights. If we stood-up for our race and rights, you would call us racists.
You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you’re not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists.
We fly our flag, we are racists. If we celebrate St George’s day we are racists.
You can fly your flag and it’s called diversity. You celebrate your cultures and it’s called multiculturalism.
I am proud… but you call me a racist.
Why is it that only whites can be racists?
There is nothing improper about this message. Let’s see which of you are proud enough to send it on.
I sadly don’t think many will. That’s why we have lost most of our rights in this country. We won’t stand up for ourselves!
BEING PROUD TO BE WHITE! It’s not a crime, YET! But its getting very close!
“Homelands” ?
Surely Soros had those abolished years ago ?
Only for white people.
‘Morning, Grizz. Regrettably Disgust only allows one uptick!
‘Morning, Hugh.
It isn’t mine. It’s one (of many) that I nicked off FaceAche.
‘Morning, George – and re-posted to Ar$ebook. Thank you.
‘Morning, Tom.
Is that called recycling?
I’ll share that with you – should be in large letters everywhere!
BEING PROUD TO BE WHITE! It’s not a crime
Maybe T shirts printed with the slogan ? – after all, they can wear BLM printed shirts ?
Didn’t someone put up stickers (“Open border, virus disorder” and “Pubs closed, borders open”) recently in Sheffield, causing the police to seek to arrest those responsible posters for a ‘hate crime’?
Didn’t someone put up stickers (“Open border, virus disorder” and “Pubs closed, borders open”) recently in Sheffield, causing the police to seek to arrest those responsible posters for a ‘hate crime’?
It’s in their bally slogan. ‘Black lives matter’ It’s fundamentally racist! Teir entire movement is racist.
Comically they prove that they cannot be treated as others can because instead of a calm, dignified discussion they riot loot and steal, leaping about like monkeys knifing each other. This is evidence that they need a boot put on their neck.

The closing down of debate worries me most
From magazine issue: 13 June 2020
The Eastern Orthodox Church has decided that yoga is incompatible with Christianity. This is an enormous problem for me, as I am a regular practitioner of this interesting meditative calisthenic technique, but also someone who judges the sagacity of a person by the length of his beard and the mournful extravagance of his hat. So I must change my daily regimen somehow. I fretted a while — but then it dawned on me that modern Britain might come to my aid. The other evening I was required to ‘clap for carers’ while simultaneously going down on one knee in apologetic homage to an oppressed person who was walking past my house at the time. I found this a satisfyingly tricky operation to co-ordinate.
All we need is a couple more of these agreeable genuflections and I will have a new exercise regime. Perhaps I could put my legs behind my ears to show solidarity with the suffering of Palestinians and bend over and touch my toes to express support for the transgender community. (I don’t mean anything suggestive by ‘bend over and touch my toes’, incidentally. I just mean ‘bend over and touch my toes’. One has to be terribly careful these days, re. giving offence and stuff.) I don’t know what Bartholomew I, Grand Patriarch of Constantinople and thus head of the Eastern Orthodox congregation would think of this idea, but I have the suspicion it would go down very well with our Anglicans. In fact, the entire general synod is probably doing something very similar right now, while keening about austerity and refugees. (I hope if there is a God that He finds the relentless self-abnegation and whining of our clerics as hilarious as the rest us do.)
Meanwhile my wife, denied the opportunity to visit her usual hairdresser because of a lockdown which does not apply to lefties, is shaving off all of her straight blonde hair because she has been told by social media that it is oppressive and she ought to show solidarity with people who do not have straight blonde hair (and they don’t mean me).
It is an exciting world we live in, even despite the strictures of social distancing, no? I think that the writer Brendan O’Neill, of Spiked Online, is right when he says that it is as chilling a climate as he can remember. A cowardly ninny of a local police chief connives in vandalism by allowing a statue to be thrown in a river; the usual useful idiots of the self-flagellating liberal middle class parade through city centre in sweatshirts saying ‘I’m sorry’. So you should be, you mindless, grovelling saps, if not for the reasons you think.
Black Lives Matter has become the provisional wing of the BBC which, as usual, talks rot about the peaceable nature of those demonstrations, with misleading headlines (which it is later forced to alter) and — astonishingly, even by the BBC’s standards — editing photographs of the demos so they do not show people behaving in a violent manner. The Mayor of London, the terrible vacuum which is Sadiq Khan, has convened an inquiry into London’s statues, pledging that henceforth they will represent the thrillingly diverse ethnic mix of the capital. So in future, statues will be erected of people not because they did something wonderful, notable or historic, but primarily because of the colour of their skin. Disavow the BLM paradigm — that the UK is ridden with ‘structural’ racism (something which has not noticeably hampered our Jewish, Indian, West African, East African Asian or Chinese communities, nor stopped Rishi Sunak, Priti Patel, Sajid Javid and so on rising to the highest offices of state) and you may be sacked from your job for speechcrime.
Two thoughts immediately occur. The first is that according to every Human Development criterion, black people in the UK (and USA) are better off than pretty much anywhere else in the world. If you are black and would quite like a decent education, a long, healthy life, a reasonable income, a high standard of living, good medical treatment, democratic rights and suffrage — then it’s not Africa you look to, is it? And the second thought is that once again the liberal establishment — the woke coppers, the uni morons who wish to change Imperial College’s name, the BBC, the virtue-signalling private companies — is not remotely representative of the people of this country, who find the whole thing absurd. It is only a small minority in accord with this madness.
But then the Bolsheviks constituted about 0.04 per cent of the Russian population in 1910, and look what they achieved, what enormous pleasure they brought to their fellow citizens for 80 odd years. And they didn’t even have Emily Maitlis fighting their cause.
What is to be done, then, as Lenin himself once asked? The closing down of debate worries me most, as it worried Brendan O’Neill and many others. A US broadcaster was sacked for tweeting ‘all lives matter’ — just that, nothing else. And over here, Stu Peters, a broadcaster, was taken off air and suspended by Manx Radio for saying exactly the same thing. While interviewing a black caller to his radio show, Mr Peters then committed the even more heinous crime of suggesting he was not ‘privileged’ simply because he was white. Not just suspended, mind — he was even referred to the Isle of Man’s Communications Commission.
In a democratic country, where we are supposed to cherish freedom of speech, that is genuinely shocking. My colleague Toby Young has written to the IoM Communications Commission asking what they think they are investigating. Meanwhile, people who care about freedom of speech should boycott Manx Radio and listen to almost anything else instead, even that clown Rylan on Radio 2. It’s a small counterblast. But these things matter. You can do your bit by joining the Free Speech Union. It’s a precious thing, freedom of speech. It’s looking a bit green about the gills right now.

Even Rod is beginning to feel the chill of the coming terror!
Poor old Rod will be one of the first up on the BBC’s BLM, XR, TransCentral and government mandated, ‘Shameful Britons’ programme. Coming to BBC1 with daily repeats SOON.
Funding and influence of BLM and the BBC comes in part from the same place, Dolly, so no surprises the latter is very sympathetic towards the former.
Nailed on certainty to follow Palmyra and the Bamiyan Buddhas if governments continue their immigration madness.

Dt,
“Civilised societies do not betray their children”
Tell me, why must we be first in ALL odious issues ?
Concerning kids safety & welfare, carrying knives in school time, teaching
a three monkey view of history etc, concealing rampant paedophilia targeting the young, ALL had / have great success on the betrayal stage.
So why are we as a society seemingly leading the field on such odious issues ?
We’re not. We’re just closely following the U.S..
319993+ up ticks,
Morning Ims2,
I do beg to differ in the nicest possible way, take for instance the odious issue of the Rotherham 16 plus year cover up, I do not believe the US could better that.

After being away on business, Rich thought it would be nice to bring his wife a little gift.
“How about some perfume?” he asked the cosmetics clerk. She showed him a bottle costing $50.00.
“That’s a bit much,” said Rich, so she returned with a smaller bottle for $30.00.
“That’s still quite a bit,” Rich groused.
Growing annoyed, the clerk brought out a tiny $15.00 bottle.
“What I mean,” said Rich, “is I’d like to see something really cheap.”
Morning all 😕
I wonder if all of these low self esteem brain dead moronic scum are going to visit Italy this year and try pulling down statues of early Romans. Who where more than guilty of slave trading.
They can move on to Islamic countries (i don’t think they have statues) and desecrate the buildings with their stupid graffiti.
It’s a well established fact that thousands of blond blue eyed white boys girls men and women were snatched from Northern European countries by islamics, in order to meet their needs of service and of course sexual delights.
Perhaps the raging mad self centered chip on the shoulders idiots haven’t consider anything near the truth.
Morning Eddy and everyone.
You are exaggerating their capacity to “consider” or even think. What with?
Thomas Sowell, the black American economist and philosopher pointed out yesterday that the number of whites taken into slavery by the Arabs and North Africans exceeded the total number of black slaves taken across the Atlantic to America and the Jamaican islands. Unfortunately I have lost my book “White Gold” which detailed this huge trade.
Only last night Simon Sebag Montifieore (spl)?
Presented a programme on the history of Islamic Spain. Cordoba was the center of the muslim ’empire’ where the (he sounded repulsive) midget muslim leader had 6000 white blue eyed girls and boys on lockdown, for his pleasure.
He also kept a pride of lions on the premises of his huge ‘palace’. He fed them with people he didn’t like or wouldn’t do as he bid.

By Giles Milton. Just ordered it from Amazon.
It’s an eye opener , the privations and brutality suffered by the white european slaves appears to have been the equal or far worse than their POC equivalents. I could only take the book a chapter at a time before resorting to a calm down ( usually in a glass )
I was checking who were responsible for all the African slaves sent from opposing and differential tribal leaders for money gifts or favours.
It appears that the US Dems haven’t done any research. Up until republican Lincoln and his 13th amendment his Dem predecessors where hard at it for decades.

This is the Islamic Iberia which Boris Johnson said in his BBC programmes ‘After Rome: Holy War and Conquest’ really wasn’t such a bad place for non-Muslims.
I believe the non muslims put up with it until around 1212 ad when they drove them out.
The Janissaries were Christian boys taken from the Balkans and pressed into service as soldiers of the Ottoman sultan.

Black Lives Matter protest: Edward Colston statue retrieved from Bristol Harbour and taken to ‘secure location’
A really courageous government would have it put back in its original site and the rioters told that any future acts of vandalism will be severely punished. But in a country where there is no effective government and anarchy is not only allowed but encouraged this will never happen.
(We have been sold down the river by the PTB – to use a phrase used to describe what happened to slaves in America which is what Mark Twain’s Huckleberry Finn was about)
An effective Government would have arrested the whole crowd responsible and ensured that they were charged with racially aggravated criminal damage.

The rampaging racist mob should be corralled at gunpoint until they realise just how disgusting their behaviour is considered by society.
I’m seriously worried about all those empty plinths in our public spaces.
They are crying out for replacement statues. Here’s one I prepared earlier.

Is that on red benches
in the HoL ?
Some young people, members of the banned terrorist group National Action have been sentenced to significant prison terms for being members of National Action. These are very silly young people. They have planted no bombs, blown up no theatres, killed no one in street attacks. They are less effective at terrorism than are the people spilling out of a pub late on a Friday night in the Bigg Market. The only significant attack attributed to them was by a man who attacked a Sikh and who received a life sentence. A man who was disowned by National Action . (Well, they would say that, wouldn’t they?)
Their Wikipedia entry suggests that they barely exist, describing them as secretive (well, really?) and the numbers are quite small. So small that any member not named in the article might well feel slighted. It may be that National Action is a Government project, it is certainly inept and incompetent, almost risible.
But here’s the point, just belonging to National Action or claiming to belong to it, without any other misdeeds, will result in a jail term the length of which may be anything up to ten years in prison depending on how bilious the judge is on the day.
If you are a member of a cohesive group that has a handbook that sets out an intention to kill, whose members carry out attacks which brutally and indiscriminately kill and maim people fairly often, you are pretty safe from armed raids by Counter Terrorist Units. Just saying.

Godfrey Bloom
@goddersbloom
I suspect I will be right yet again, I can’t see this weak man really taking us out of the EU.
Withdrawing our commissioner & MEPs is not leaving.
We still take the rules & pay the fees.
WE WILL BE BETRAYED BY THE TORIES AGAIN
I don’t believe that Boris will let us down on our EU departure. It will be 4 years soon since the referendum result and the EU has failed to come to a satisfactory agreement with the UK. The last thing the UK needs now is another extension as we will then continue with the damaging division in UK government at a difficult time when freedom to make our own decisions on our way forward is essential. Project fear is under way now, stockpiles stored for Brexit day have been purloined for COVID-19 purposes and not replaced, much more of this scaremongering will be heard over the next three weeks from the BBC and remainers. It will be a torrent of anti-Brexit publicity. Boris must stand firm and Godfrey Bloom should support Boris who is still recovering from his serious illness.
We all hope you are right, but why do we have silence from Boris. I smell a rat.
Afternoon Johnny – Godfrey Bloom has already given up on Brexit which will encourage the Remain people. We must stand firm with Boris and encourage him to get us over the line. Many of us predicted from the day after the result that we would never get a decent agreement from the EU as both parties’ red lines were incompatible. We favoured a clean break and that is what we should get on 31 December 2020. A 2 year extension means the end of Brexit
I never take what people say only what they do so I wait and hope. I do not totaly trust Boris .I hope i am proved wrong.
You succeeded, Geoff!
Despite the best efforts of technology!
Excellent – good morning!
:-D)
Morning, Oberstleutnant; morning all!
I think they are keeping schools shut so that the older ones can go out and tear down statues.
I think you are onto something…
Apologies if this letter has been posted already, but for me this says it all:
SIR – It was in Britain that the moral enormity of black slavery was first acknowledged and acted upon. First, back in 1772, Lord Mansfield gave his landmark judgement that slavery was illegal within Britain, meaning that any black slaves who landed here automatically became free.
Oxford
I think that rather we considered slavery an abomination.
It wasn’t raising blacks up. it was simply saying this behaviour is wrong, and we’re not doing it any more. After all, there were plenty of white slaves – indentured servants. These racist blacks ignore that because it doesn’t suit their narrative.
Quite so, Britain understood that slavery was wrong and took steps to stop it. Africans and Arabs continue it to this day because it is part of their culture.
‘Black Lives Matter’ risks becoming an empty slogan. It’s not enough to defeat racism. 11 June 2020.
This is where leadership really counts: the day-to-day decisions, at the most senior levels, that affect thousands of lives. To make lasting change, we ultimately have to get off the streets and into the rooms where these decision-makers operate.
In the UK we have to be equally thoughtful – so that every single officer, every single business chief, every head of every institution thinks every single day about the need to eradicate racism and bias. Black Lives Matter is a catchy slogan. But right now, action is what really matters.
This of course is the same sort of thing the Jacobins and the Bolsheviks used to mouth but eventually Robespierre and Stalin emerged to end it. So it will be here. The Man of Blood is hidden at the moment but he will be there, awaiting his inevitable opportunity. There is a bright side to this; the first people he will murder will be those like the author of this piece!
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/jun/11/black-lives-matter-racism-bristol-colston
What racism? Where is it? Even if there were meaningful definition,- there isn’t one – it would be difficult to prove it exists in any significant way. Our national broadcasters seem to have vastly more BAMEs working for them than the proportion of BAMES in the general population.
People get jobs based on merit, usually. Is that wrong?
‘Based on merit’ HP? What a quaint idea. It will never work all the while the race industry imposes ludicrous quotas…
Is this mouthing of racism the one certain way to create a racist problem where none existed?
Good morning all.
Raining & dull.
Morning Peddy, sun crackin’ the flags up here
‘Morning, Spikey.
Well, May, Patel, Khan and Dick, I hope you’re really proud of your achievements.
This has come about because of your appeasement of the thugs.

And it’s going to get worse, precisely because you are bending the knee to every passing identity political bandwagon.
When will Starmer realise that ‘taking the knee’ and having it recorded and published was not a sensible thing to do for someone with aspirations to become PM. During the next election his ability to turn himself inside out in support of all the extreme factions will come back to haunt him. Who does he think he is, Justin Trudeau?
It’s getting to the tipping point where those being “bent to” are likely to hold the balance of power in many marginal seats. He knows what he’s doing.

that fact very seriously prior to the take over.

SIR – Wouldn’t it be nice if protesters placed a wreath at the memorial next to the Houses of Parliament to Thomas Fowell Buxton, William Wilberforce, Thomas Clarkson and others in thanks for their efforts to abolish slavery against strong opposition?

Quite right, Ian Watson. And don’t forget Enid Blyton…the bitch has got it coming to her! Meanwhile, we have just dug out some of her shocking works, for onward transmission to our grandchildren. Let us hope they have the opportunity to read them before the mobs find out and ransack their houses.
Deryk Brown – if you don’t like it, stop taking public money- money you are still whining about 250 years after it ended.
It’s that sort of perpetual greivance that just makes us think you’re a pillock.
Morning again
SIR – Charles Moore (Notebook, June 9) writes about the difficulties that a blanket policy on the wearing of face masks poses to asthmatics.
Another example of the weakness of such policy-making is Matt Hancock’s announcement that all healthcare staff and hospital patients must wear masks from June 15.
For the millions of people with hearing impairments, visual cues are an important for their communication skills. Enforcing the wearing of masks would leave them further handicapped when seeking medical help.
It seems that no one at Public Health England or the Department of Health has thought to raise this point.

I am a discarded father, so support bubbles for such symbols of male patriarchy are “inappropriate”.
The way Boris said it “we are going to allow” got my back up for a start.
We listened to his questions and answers on the car radio while coming back from a fishing charter yesterday evening. The man sounded like a bumbling imbecile.
Boros can’t square the circle with his billionaire and Davos friends pulling one way, his MPs another, the Chinese demanding this or that, and BLM forcing him into a straightjacket of nonsense..
So only babbling is possible.
You should be grateful you don’t get lectured at by wee Krankie! “I will…” this and “I won’t…” that!
She is dreadful and does more than put my back up!
Same here, Sue. She has taken grandstanding to a whole new level.
And if she tells us once more that she isn’t “doing” politics I will scream!
Better lay in some throat lozenges then.
Stropsils!
Good one!
Thanks Anne! Battercup syrup is quite good as well!
I think Nicola is a Soros operative.
I had to grant myself a huge smile and an out loud chuckle when the ‘bubble inhabitants sans pareil’ used the term in an advisory manner.
I had visions of them handing out huge Zorbs to these people! OK! It ‘s cabin fever!
Snippet from Telegraph View:
“Has there ever been a time in our history where such micro-management of family contacts has been imposed by the state or tolerated by the populace?”
I don’t think even Stalin’s Russia measured the distance between people – let alone among family members.
Blasphemy BTL:-
Schools say they cannot possibly cope with social distancing, I’m sure it could be done with a little imagination.
Even if children were in for half a day or half the week.
Why not just have one subject taught each day with half the children in.
Morning Bob. There is no earthly reason why the schools couldn’t have been opened a fortnight ago.
One word – Unions
Three words Alec.

The problem now is that the PTB have completely capitulated to the mob and, anyway, the mob has no intention to listening to reason from whatever source. We, the public, will reap what the PTB have sown.
319993+ up ticks,
Afternoon V1,
It has become abundantly clear to me that we are reaping a regular harvest of sh!te seemingly the peoples are not up for investing in a new crop.
These politico’s depend on the lifestyle giving kiss
X of the peoples to survive you can get a lot of smarties ( sweeties not politico’s) for 80K & exs they are not never, ever, going to admit to treachery / failure.
People power put the powers to be in place.
Algebra would read
PP + X = PTB to one place recurring.
I’m pondering on the possibility of at least one political assassination if this nonsense isn’t nipped in the bud. There has been much rage since the Leave vote and now the PTB have dropped the ball as far as control of the streets is concerned. The BLM anarchists will attract some really extreme elements and if a politician openly speaks out against them and their plans it is quite possible that that person will be taken out. It will take something terrible to drag the PTB out of their slumbers and the killing of one of their own might just be the catalyst. That or the killing of a number of police officers. It looks like being a long summer.
It will only take one spark over the weekend and what you mention may well happen. Then what? Will the mob join in? I dread to think.
The killing of Joke Ox didn’t stop the Leave vote. The silent majority doesn’t like what is happening now.
Funny, I’ve had three external conversations today (one out walking the dog, one at the checkout when shopping and the third when my neighbour walked past my gate while I was gardening). Every single one of them, without my broaching the subject, condemned what was going on in London and elsewhere re BLM,
Whom would you nominate as the best targeted victim?
As far as I’m aware not one MP has come out and denounced in strong terms what has been going on and therefore made themselves a target. On that basis I have no idea, and I would like to add, I have no wish for such an event to occur. However, the longer this insurrection continues the possibility of a tragic event increases. The BLM/Antifa have been encouraged by the lack of a firm response to their brutality. Appeasement is a bad strategy as it gives encouragement the people who are threatening the peace of the nation.
We’ve been sewn up too!
Yup. Pretty well stitched up!
Ahem

Pretty much in line with a Daily Mail story stating that a third of people that the tracers contacted would not give a list of contacts.
Goddamn autocorrect, tracers not teachers.
There again, they are doing nothing so why not?
Towards Britain’s Year Zero. Spiked 11 June 2020.
Middle-class, liberally inclined people around the country might have some sympathy with the Bristol mob because they assume action will be limited and controllable. They assume the mob will work for them rather than against them. Yet the cycle of destruction will eventually include monuments and art loved by many. There will be collateral damage, both cultural and human. Only after some deaths will authorities act to restore order. By then, people all over the country will have already erased traces of slavery. That is cowardice.
This is very good piece though the author tries to ameliorate his own headline, probably because it is too frightening. The paragraph above for example should have said, Only after some deaths will authorities attempt to restore order. In reality it will soon gain an unstoppable momentum toward Pol Pot’s dream where ethnic genocide against the hated White Population will seem only just!

I am scared , I witnessed too much when I was a child living with my parents in Africa.
Later on in life , Moh and witnessed the aftermath of tribal horrors in Nigeria .
Do you know that intense anger smells, it has an odour , a very strong odour.
The memory of that lingers in one’s mind .

‘Morning, Sue, Dr Adam Elliott-Cooper, Doctor of Death and Master of Madness.
Oh good grief! I have just googled him! Surprise! He appears to be quite darker-toned!
Then I shall have to change that to Witch-doctor of Death.
He has corn-rows!
Alas, no bone through his nose!
Haha!
Snap! I think that was a tie.
‘Morning, Sue. Horrifying, isn’t it?
I find it quite appalling that people with such twisted ideas in their tiny heads, are let loose on unsuspecting young minds. I suppose Greenwich “university” says it all!
Good morning Hugh!
‘Morning, Peeps (and thanks Geoff),

What is the effect on the UK’s trade reputation if customs officers are allowed, without regulation or control, to intercept and pilfer the mail at Langley HWDC, the Royal Mail’s Heathrow Worldwide Distribution Centre?
Parcels randomly and routinely go missing from there, or are held up for weeks for “customs inspections”. Yet we only have their word on this, since nothing is recorded or monitored, and the tracking of registered items is suspended upon arrival at Langley.
‘Morning, jeremy, many years ago to my certain memory, Heathrow quickly earned the soubriquet, “Thief row”.
When Frank Cousins boy (Mathew?) was the top union banana.
Morning Jeremy. This is just one small aspect of a system that is irretrievably broken.
‘Morning again,

Another shameful capitulation by a spineless council.
‘Morning, HJ.
Belle highlighted this yes’day. Still shameful though.
He’s definitely in line for the mob treatment – he only went and set up a worldwide youth organisation now in 216 countries with membership of some 28 million, of which nearly half a million are in this country…what an utter bastard!
Quos Deus vult perdere prius dementat
Just as well they don’t live in certain other countries, e.g. Japan or Korea. Those are very racist people and countries. I don’t particularly care, frankly, as I support their desire to be a distinct people with their own customs and traditions, etc.
This far Left mania has to be stopped now, before it goes any further. They won’t stop with statues; they’re just the beginning.
If, as they state, all while people are inherently racist, that means eliminating us, i.e. the white genocide the far left have been calling for for years now. Which, of course, is the most racist act of all, but that irony will be lost on them, and there’ll be no one to call them to account afterwards.
I see from the ‘Have your Vote’ that those who want it left in place are in a ‘minority’ of 73%.
Changing the conversation.
Can any of you remember your old school house names ,, say, from primary school days?
One of the mixed primary schools I attended when back in Britain had Anson , Benbow, Collingwood and Drake . My house was Anson, one of the little girls wanted to be a Wren, and one of the boys declared he wanted to be an Admiral , and I became a Naval nurse years later!
Tudor (green), Windsor (yellow), Plantagenet (blue) and Stuart (red). My sister and I were in Tudor – sporty AND smart!
Interesting isn’t it Sue.. and I expect you are sporty and smart .
Thanks Belle! That’s kind of you! As you are unfailingly kind.
Dis we go to the same school? 🙂
I disn’t remember!
Yes. Not primary but at secondary school we had Alcuin, Ebor, Severus and Minster. Guess where?
Lucas, Lisle, Gilberd and Wilby.
Lucas and Lisle were ‘martyred’ Royalist generals.
Gilbert was a scientist; he investigated electricity.
Wilby was a composer/musician.
All were Colchester worthies.
Isn’t it interesting that we learn something so different from each other .
I must confess I have never heard of any of them , but I have now , and will investigate further .
Haddon (yellow), Hardwick (green) and Chatsworth (red). All stately homes in Derbyshire. I was in Haddon.
Interestingly, when I went on my educational cruise of the Baltic, in July–August 1964, along with around 600 young teenagers aboard the converted troop-carrier, MV Dunera; all the dormitories were named after famous admirals. In our block we had Anson, Baffin, Blake and Benbow. I was in Anson (and we won the dormitory prize for keeping the tidiest dormitory on the boys’ side of the ship!).
I visited Haddon Hall … boarding school excursion .. Not sure it was a great place for school outing for young girls , but I remember it being so impressive and huge , it was so awe inspiring , creaky spooky and rather cold ..
We were also taken to visit the Blue John mines on another excursion , funny how one can remember things like that from such a long time ago.
So you were a swot then.
I wish, John.
Transport me back to age 11 and send me to grammar school (instead of the secondary modern) and, knowing what I do now, I’d FLY!
Haddon belonged to the Dukes of Rutland, didn’t it?
Indeed it did, Conners.
I was in Sandringham House at prep . At KGV it was Nelson House. tells you all you need to know.
Bungay Grammar School had house mostly in favour of the founders except mine, E House for Emmanuel College Cambridge – I didn’t go. The others were C – Crabbe, P- Popeson and T – Throckmorton.
Bowlker.
Whoever that was:-((
I was in School House (SH) at Blundell’s and at house matches when we supported our team we repeatedly shouted “S.H. …. S.H. ….S.H. …. S.H. ….” in unison.
But a supporter of the other side rather ruined our shouts of support by organising his friends to cry out: “I.T.” in between each of our shouts.
Mynd, Kyneberga, Barwell, Bearland, Hartland. A variety named after old Headmistresses, a Saxon princess and old premises where the school was in earlier years. I was in Mynd house, usually one of the better ones in house competitions.
Apropos Saxon princesses, where’s Ethel?
I wondered that the other day. Apparently she’s been seen on another site.
Has anyone seen basset edge? I miss his wonderful photos of Northumberland!
My primary school was a village school with approximately 60 children so no houses there.
Kier, Jeremy, Edward and Tony were our school house names. We were all fuckwits. 😉
Yes. Not primary but at secondary school we had Alcuin, Ebor, Severus and Minster. Guess where?
Fleming, Nansen, Temple, Churchill and Roosevelt. Boarding School in Germany.
York?
York … how lovely !
Eboracum.
As far as I can remember my primary school didn’t have house names. On sports day we were assigned a colour, red, blue, yellow or green. My Grammar had three houses, my house Ramsey (red), Swallow (blue) and Hunt (green). All were named after men who had contributed something to the school over a few centuries. The Hunt family owned a farm machinery and industrial metal works in the village and contributed to the building of many of the buildings. The works have long gone, rather like the school and are now mainly covered in housing. The large boarding house remains and last I heard it was a care/retirement home.
Ours were Windsor, Tudor, York and Hanover.
I went to two prep schools in my childhood – one had Army, Navy and Air Force, and the other had Normans, Saxons, Celts and Britons. My grammar school also had houses named – Collyer, Hurst, Mercer and St Leonard’s.
319993+ up ticks,
Afternoon JM,
Ours were Canterbury, Camp Hill, the Villa,
& Parkhurst.
What about Dartmoor, Broadmoor, Strangeways and Wormwood Scrubs?
319993+ up ticks,
Evening JM,
Broadmoor should be strictly for the politico’s
as in the criminally insane.
My RC grammar school had St Augustine’s, St John Fisher, St Gregory and St Thomas Moore. I was in Gussy’s.
You did time, Ogga?
I went to a RC secondary school. Nottlanders shouldn’t have too much difficulty guessing the names.
I was in Sandringham House at prep . At KGV it was Nelson House. tells you all you need to know.
Allard, Erasme and Mazenod – I was in Allard: the first bishop of the old Transvaal Republic
None at my primary schools and can’t remember if my first secondary school had houses, but the second had Windsor (mine) Tudor and Stuart (and may be a 4th I can’t remember) and at my final secondary school I think they were all benefactors/founder of the school (Dauntsey, Fitzmaurice, Mercer & Farmer)
Didn’t have Houses at my primary school, but my Grammar School had Bredon (dark blue), Wenlock (green), Clee (light blue) and Malvern (yellow). I was in Wenlock – I have always hated green, so it hardly endeared me to cheer on and support my House 🙂
We just had two – Victoria and Elizabeth [I]. I was in Elizabeth.
At secondary level it was four previous Heads – very dull.

…Social distancing drinking measures.
Good morning, everyone. Had a bit of trouble logging in.
Dubious modelling is compromising Britain’s lockdown debate. Sherelle Jacobs.
This was the week that the official Covid narrative reached peak absurdity. In the real world, wake-up call after wake-up call rang with grisly lucidity, while Britain remained trapped in its obsessive-compulsive second wave bunker. First came the warnings of a jobsageddon, as unemployment claims surged by 70 per cent. Then the news that NHS waiting lists are set to double to 10 million. This rounded off by Rishi Sunak’s revelation that school closures will wreck the UK more than the 2008 crash.
But on Planet Lockdown, even these grimmest of facts could not penetrate the powerful forcefield of Covid hysteria. So much so that No 10 has ditched plans to reopen primary schools, overwhelmed and intimidated by the strange new “safety first” neurosis sweeping through the public sector. At this crucial juncture that will decide Britain’s economic future, the nation is incapable of having a sensible lockdown debate.
But perhaps this is no surprise, when virus modelling zealots continue to conflate, confuse and corrupt the scientific discussion. After playing a starring role in what may go down in history as the most seismic scientific error ever, Imperial College on Monday released a deeply odd paper, with a cunningly worded press release, claiming that “lockdown and school closures in Europe may have prevented 3.1 million deaths”.
The hitch is that this impressive figure comes from comparing the actual death toll with the death toll in an imaginary counter-factual universe that could never have existed. The report appears to make the literally inhuman assumption that, if there had been no government measures imposed, not one person would have changed their behaviour in response to the virus– even though mobility data suggests mobility was falling before lockdown. It also assumes that in this parallel universe, 70 per cent of people would get the virus to reach herd immunity.
This despite emerging evidence that calls such thinking into question, or at least complicates it significantly. The La Jolla Institute for Immunology in California has, for example, tested pre-Covid 19 blood samples and found that many have so-called “T cell reactivity” (a form of immunity) to the virus, even though they have never been exposed to it (but had almost certainly been exposed to at least three of the four common cold coronaviruses). They tentatively posit that such “cross-reactive immunity” could offer some people natural protection from Covid-19, which means that a great many people may have natural protection, making the herd immunity threshold potentially much lower.
Could it be that burrowing down too deeply into the latest evidence risks rocking the foundations of lockdown? Other researchers have had no such qualms, revising their assumptions based on new information as it comes in rather than retreating to tired old models. The University of Oxford has, for example, just published research that explores what respiratory infection logs up to May might tell us about Covid in the community. This granular, evidence-led approach suggests that the infection rate fell significantly from March 15, long before lockdown orders were imposed.
But the momentum somehow seems against them. From the study into the virus on the Diamond Princess cruise ship, where only 19 per cent of people were infected despite ideal spreading conditions – which could suggest widespread natural immunity – to early evidence of superspreaders in China and Italy, insights that challenge pro-lockdown assumptions have been sidelined from the start.
And in an infuriating twist, a lot of very good modelling is going on in the margins. Neuroscientist Karl Friston, whose generative modelling, which is more responsive to uncertainties and adjusts assumptions as data flows in, is digging into whether natural immunity could explain Germany’s comparatively low fatality rate. Nobel prize-winner Michael Levitt has found that Covid has seemingly followed a so-called Sigmoid curve across the world, with exponential growth slowing after two weeks (rather than the virus continuously growing exponentially as assumed by Imperial).
Mathematical research company Omega Analysis has compellingly predicted the daily increases in new cases in several countries using cutting-edge statistical methods. But this, alas, is a side story. Years from now historians will write books about how a mickey mouse discipline crept across Western universities like a cancer, spawning new fields (like climate modelling), and corrupting old ones (like epidemiology). Indeed, one of the most bizarre spectacles of this whole debacle has been to watch some modellers justify their murky findings by talking up “fundamental epidemiological theory”, as if it is the new physics.
It cannot be a coincidence that, as the scientists refuse to engage with the real world, so too do the wider public. Life imitates art, so the merry cliche goes. But one might fear that Covid will give rise to a chilling new saying: life imitates science.

‘Morning, Anne, I trust your FLU is not catching.
Good morning all,
Fine morning still no rain as promised . We had some drizzle during the evening for an hour , but the ground is so dry.
Where we have watered everyday , a mole has tunnelled right through the flower bed , under some steps and caused rockery wallbit of a mess as it took a uturn under the rockery wall.
Moh ‘s rain alarm on his phone shows us right in the middle of a swirling weather system .. a little fine microclimate.

Let them keep their “State”, but don’t allow anything in or out for a few weeks and see how they are feeling then.
Roll on the free trade deal with the US, it should only take a few years.
With logic beyond me, they demand that they defund the police as an aid to ending this foolishness.
Reminds me of a film starring Alec Guinness and set in London…
Maybe the outside world should shut off water and electricity, block the roads and insist on a WTO agreement before goods can be allowed to cross the border. That’ll only take 4 years to negotiate. Oh, yes, what about passports?
Passport to Pimlico one presumes.
Of course! Just couldn’t get it! Thanks!
Yep, when I wrote” anything” I meant just that.
It would also show them what they might have if they returned to Africa.
ROFLMHO 😹😹😹😹😹 Thanks for that, best laugh I’ve had for weeks! 😸😸😸😸😸
Best laugh I’ve had since this all kicked off.
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years.
No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
– Knowing when to come in out of the rain;
– Why the early bird gets the worm;
– Life isn’t always fair;
– And maybe it was my fault.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don’t spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).
His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.
Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.
It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.
Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.
Common Sense took a beating when you couldn’t defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.
Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot . She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.
Common Sense was preceded in death,
– by his parents, Truth and Trust,
– by his wife, Discretion,
– by his daughter, Responsibility,
– and by his son, Reason.
He is survived by his five stepchildren;
– I Know My Rights
– I Want It Now
– Someone Else Is To Blame
– I’m A Victim
– Pay me for Doing Nothing
Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.
319993+ up ticks,
Morning ATG,
The murder most foul of common sense can be laid at the door of a multitude of ballot booth users & their love affair of the governance parties candidates, confirmed once again by their kiss of treachery X within the secrecy of the booth.
The most pertinent question that needs to be asked, urgently, is:
“Why has Common Sense been supplanted by Common Purpose?“
WHO has coordinated this.
Is that a question or a statement?
Common sense is free to air, so to speak, anyone and everyone could, if they wished, exercise common sense.
On the other hand Common Purpose is a Marxist concept that was brought into the power structure by unscrupulous politicians and power brokers to undermine society. It is not a natural state but an ideology that has been promoted and allowed to buy its way into the top echelons by offering power and authority to those who do not merit such elevation, perversely, by empowering weak and useless people, CP’s own power and influence is enhanced. It is morally corrupt and like a maggot is burrowing its way through the public sector.
Good morning Grizzly
I believe Common Purpose is actually a condition which is softhanded and feeble and rather squeaky , it is neither masculine nor feminine .. there is no true grit , courage or strength of purpose .. energy sapping quasi so called intellectual thought .. sociology gone wrong and very contagious .
Bland and unsexy !
Good morning, Belle.
Don’t you mean……
‘I believe Common Purpose is actually a condition
which is softheaded……..’?
Good morning Garlands .
No I don’t ..
Common Purpose types are usually soft handed , wave their arms around far too much , and are incapable of giving stern rebuke !
But surely, Belle, that is because they are
soft in the head?
No moral fibre!!
Good morning, Maggie and Garlands.
I call that a draw. Northampton 1 Southampton 1. 🤣
Money.
Is this a paranoid thought ?
Introduce a virus .. then introduce fear, then isolate the population , confine them to solitary for a few months , introduce a state of unreality , the shock of isolation , seperating generations , closing everywhere where discussion takes place… distance from close friends and relatives . .. Certain groups will become agitated and confrontational , and suddenly control is lost amongst amongst frustrated BAME groups who believe they have been targetted by the virus because of socio economic failures .. any excuse for a kick off .. the stabbings stopped and the police and government became hate figures because they exercised control..
Of course Common purpose kicked in and the various Labour Bame Mayors have almost encouraged a Hate Whitey campaign .
The ignorant few have forgotten how a country became wealthy and how one hundred years later , that wealth has been distributed with largesse, supporting the many , overseas and at home .
Stop all foreign aid , cease encouraging students to come to Britain ..
How on earth do these people believe we can afford them any longer ?
I think you give them far too much credence TB, they are not that intelligent.
It’s now been established that at least one third of the people infected in the UK had traveled from Spain and France.
And still it goes on.
The majority of our infections seem to have come from Spain, France and Italy.
I missed that, it did mention it in the article.
But Spain and Italy are a long way in rubber boats. 😊
The grunts just do as they’re told: they’ve been whipped (oops) up by a few figures behind the scenes, who have steadily undermined western governments and culture for years. They can now see that their work has been successful: all western European countries now have spavined cowards at their head.
Sadly, a tin foil hat is fast becoming this year’s must have fashion accessory.
Morning, Maggie.
Excuse me, please. Sadly, a steel helmet is fast becoming this year’s must have street attire.
Morning Anne .
Things are happening far too fast .
The Bebelplatz is known as the site of one of the infamous Nazi book burning ceremonies held in the evening of 10 May 1933 in many German university cities. The book burnings were initiated and hosted by the nationalist German Student Association, thus stealing a march on the National Socialist German Students’ League. The assembly of the books had started on the sixth, when students dragged the contents of the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft library into the square. At the Student Association’s invitation Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels held an inflammatory speech prior to the burning. Besides other spectators, it was attended by members of the Nazi Students’ League, the SA (“brownshirts”), SS and Hitler Youth groups. They burned around 20,000 books, including works by Heinrich Mann, Erich Maria Remarque, Heinrich Heine, Karl Marx, Albert Einstein and many other authors. Erich Kästner, whose books were also among those burned, was present at the scene and described it with bitter irony in his diary.[citation needed]
Today The Empty Library, a memorial by Micha Ullman consisting of a glass plate set into the cobbles, giving a view of empty bookcases (large enough to hold the total of the 20,000 burnt books), commemorates the book burning. Furthermore, a line of Heinrich Heine from his play, Almansor (1821), is engraved on a plaque inset in the square: “Das war ein Vorspiel nur, dort wo man Bücher verbrennt, verbrennt man am Ende auch Menschen.” (in English: “That was only a prelude; where they burn books, they will in the end also burn people”).[1] Students at Humboldt University hold a book sale in the square every year to mark the anniversary.[citation needed]

Ah, Erich Maria Remarque – Im Westen nichts neues.
Now call me stupid, but if the European Parliament vetoes any possibly deal between the EU and UK, does that not mean we will revert to WTO terms on our departure.
And the problem is what exactly………

We will be lucky if we leave. The silence from Boris is a concern.
Does anyone trust him now?
Come on Nottlers – nail your colours to the mast,
Do you still trust Boris about Brexit:
No. There’s not going to be Brexit!
No.
No – but I never did.
Why did he never come clean about the fact that his “brilliant” WA was the same as Theresa’s May’s Surrender WA?
Some of us were saying it, Rastus, but we were being ignored.
He let the so called medical experts tramp all over him. He now comes over as as a wet.
Was he given a blood transfusion ?
No.
There is no question of “still”; I never trusted him in the first place!
I’m afraid BoJo has completely lost his get up and go and I think that’s the effect having the virus had on him. I do not trust him any more, it was a fleeting trust, bit it’s been wiped out by the non-response to the rioters.
I stated in December I did not trust him, nothing I have seen or heard has changed my mind.
The saddest thing of all, when they who put trust in him to deliver are betrayed, they will still vote for him and or his party.
Good afternoon JN
I think we are being herded like sheep .. into a pinch point which will have no exit .. We have been silenced , put into a state of hypnotised shock , and then we will wake up and find we have been duped . Sorry to be negative .
I think you are True Belle.
The silence is deafening.
In that case vvof, let’s do it NOW and refuse to pay a penny more.
Ah, well, given this hard-ball government, I can dream, can’t I?
Your spelling needs work, it is no-balls government.
I was taking the piss, vvof. Irony is us!
I realised you were as soon as you used hard-ball and government in the same sentence.
I however was serious with my use of no-balls and government.
According to the DT, Michel Barstewardnier is claiming that “Britain is trying to use fishing rights as a bargaining tool”. I’m pretty sure I read a few days ago that we had offered to accept some tariffs in order to get to a trade deal. WHY do we offer them anything? They have screwed us on the WA and are still turning the screw – there is no need to offer another thing to bash us with.
If only they had listened to Varoufakis when Greece were in deep doo doo. Oh, but then they had Mrs May on their side.

funding the crane hire in agreement with the unwritten rules of submissive pcism & appeasement ?
As in a prior post of mine years ago “then they will come for your cenotaphs etc”
Good morning again, ogga
And if the BLM do come for the Cenotaph will the PTB and the police stand idly aside and just let it happen?
On past performance, certainly.
“we can commemorate the positive work without commemorating the man.”. Not in any sane, civilised, compassionate, responsible, Christian society, you can’t.
Tell me dearie, does it work the other way round? Can we deplore the negative work of Chancellor Hitler without deploring the man?
I wonder if this dismal woman is ‘clean in thought, word and deed’.
(And what sort of job would she do for a bob!)
Once again the Bigoted Broadcasting Corporation revels in its duty to give these scum the oxygen of publicity – and the more the better.
Suffer the little children.

The historical illiteracy of Black Lives Matter. Spiked. Paddy Hannam .11 June 2020.
Other examples abound. The focus on white people as being to blame for historic slavery is one such case. Slavery has been a feature of many societies throughout history. And yet, it is only Western countries’ names that come up when people talk about who is to blame. How can it be that Europeans and Americans are responsible for the Arab slave trade, or slavery in Ancient Egypt? Even the trans-Atlantic slave trade was made possible by Africans selling other Africans, often captured as prisoners of war. Brutality, like goodness, is not unique to any race of people.
Paddy Hannam falls into a trap here. Of course it’s necessary to expose the lies about the Slave Trade and the Empire etc. but this will have no effect of Black Lives Matter and its allies. They couldn’t care less. These things simply provide the excuse for their actions not the reasons. The truth is that they have been imported into a Society in which they have no place, historically or culturally. They have played no part in its creation except at the most menial level. Like the Mongols who invaded China in the fourteenth century they see nothing of value in the wonders around them only that it is Alien, and like the horse nomads they can only loot and destroy out of a sense of greed, inadequacy and shame. Make no mistake; this is not about justice or equality, it is about hate and revenge, the annihilation of a whole culture and its people!
https://www.spiked-online.com/2020/06/11/the-historical-illiteracy-of-black-lives-matter/
Your mention of the Mongols and their invasion of China reminded me of something I read some years ago. The nomadic Mongols had no concept or understanding of farming and sought to destroy it by slaughtering the farming communities. Strangely, on another level the Mongols were tolerant of other religions, in part to not antagonise the many societies they had conquered.
They also needed the land for pasture for their horses. The Chinese lost almost 40 million people to the Mongol occupation!
Not imported. They chose to come here for the free money.
They’re getting that, and all the other indulgences this country offers and still they bleat and whine.
And the woke think it is quite acceptable to allow our history and culture to be destroyed and replaced by barbarism?
Rastus, I do not think that the woke have the mental capacity to foresee the disasters their insane actions will bring upon the Country. Their puppeteers are set on creating a moral and political vacuum so as to open the door to rebuilding the Country with themselves as the architects. The result will not be a nice place for anyone not acceptable to the puppeteers, especially the woke who enabled it. They will be the first to be crushed: for an example one has only to look at Hitler and his ‘final solution’ to the problem of the SA. leadership.
Nothing to see here, didn’t happen ,move along there

Robert Clive was a vicious asset-stripper. His statue has no place on Whitehall. Thu 11 Jun 2020 11.34 BS
In Britain, study of the empire is still largely absent from the history curriculum. This still tends to go from the Tudors to the Nazis, Henry to Hitler, with a brief visit to William Wilberforce and Florence Nightingale along the way. We are thus given the impression that the British were always on the side of the angels. We remain almost entirely ignorant about the long history of atrocities and exploitation that accompanied the building of our colonial system. Now, more than ever, we badly need to understand what is common knowledge elsewhere: that for much of history we were an aggressively racist and expansionist force responsible for violence, injustice and war crimes on every continent.
Of course all English children should be taught that they come from a nation of monsters that murdered, raped and plundered its way across a world filled with benign generous states that wished only the best to the British and each other. This will do wonders for their self-esteem and confidence and fill their heads with unutterable bunk..
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/jun/11/robert-clive-statue-whitehall-british-imperial
“we were an aggressively racist and expansionist force responsible for violence, injustice and war crimes on every continent.”
I hope we can be forgiven for those dreadful penguin concentration camps in Antarctica.
No doubt Cur Keir Starmer will disown all the relatives of those who worked in the Manchester cotton mills as being parties to slavery.
I still don’t understand why so many people who were so severely repressed by the racist colonial British want to come and live here.
Or the ones who are already here want to stay. Is life a mystery. Were the Chief’s of their tribes innocent of selling their ancestors into slavery.
Has any journalist dared to ask the question:
If Britain is so foul and racist why do so many BAME people want to come here and even risk their lives to do so.
The Mayor of London has already proposed Muslim Only council housing in London. If BAME and white people cannot co-exist peacefully then maybe they should live apart and be independent of each other?
They tried apartheid in South Africa and it was not considered a good thing. But is South Africa now a better, more prosperous, and happier place for black people than it was before?
No. It’s so murderous and lawless that the ANC government in their wisdom banned the sale of alcohol during the lockdown – which led inevitably to the making of illicit hooch, and the deaths of poor people from alcholol poisoning.
Caroline was talking to a South African friend of ours on Skype yesterday and she told us the same thing baout the alcohol ban. Life in South Africa sound pretty miserable to me for both blacks and whites.
The elderly white people are being murdered daily, while the black people are worse off than they were under apartheit.
Think of the benefits Ellie. 👀💷💶💰
All of which should be drastically reduced forthwith.
Watch the illegal immigration dwindle to nothing and we might even see some emigration – especially if our limp-wristed government had the guts to outlaw Halal slaughter and, ironically, maintain Kosher.
Because they want to colonise us?
Seems that way.
Study of the Empire? Until recently, many of us here lived in it! Our parents worked in it, for little money and the betterment of those without the good fortune to be born British! Personal experience beats history books & statues.
Ungrateful bastards.
Considering the hardship that British millworkers in the cotton and wool industry , ship building , coal mining, steel, foundrys, agriculture, print works, and every other industry that made our country great in our lifetime endured , I have no time for the protesting ungrateful wretches who whine about this that and the other in these modern times . It was united strength of purpose that made Britain great , and how ungrateful are the overbreeding third world with regard to our charitable hearts.
Maybe blm should return to Africa & live without all the goidies the hated whitey invented. You know, like clean water, electricity, mobile phones, iron, medicines, concrete, cars, tv, …

When this was first released, back in the 1970s, Charles Shaar Murray, writing in the New Musical Express, found Graham Nash’s little ditty to be trite and compared it unfavourably with David Crosby’s more radical Almost Cut My Hair from the same album.
Their fathers health did surely go bye.
Why is anyone still listening to Neil Ferguson?. Spiked. 11 June 2020.

Further down the article:-
‘Mark Howell, the deputy leader of the council which is run by a coalition of parties, explained Dorset Police notified them of the possible threat to the statue and they then made the decision that it should be taken down.
He said that this wasn’t done today as the foundations are a lot deeper than thought and they will return another day to remove it.
In the meantime the council will be paying for the statue to be protected by a security guard 24 x 7’

Sort of topical.
A demain.
Has your new car arrived Bill, and do you like it?
Tomorrow we go to collect it, Maggie, at 5 pm.
I hope we like it as much as the dear old Kangoo – which left at 12.00 We felt rather as though we were putting down a loyal animal.
We do get attached to our cars, they are familiar comfortable spaces .
You will enjoy the replacement , a change is sometimes needed.
Many people feel the same about their spouses!
Err… :-O)
That’s no way to think about the ol’ banger.
Caroline! Come here this minute!
Hmm… I think I had better deal with this one in private. Rastus may or may not be with you tomorrow…
Help – I was referring to comfort and attachment not replacement.
Claim you were referring to our learned friend’s former tendency to move on.
This arrived this morning………..I can’t believe it’s actually still out there…..I mean the clip of course.

Any one attempting to will be dealt with summarily!
Samurai (ly)?
They won’t tell you, they’ll simply arrest you.
I’ll bite their legs!
Supt. Bennett, thanks to you the police now actively support vandalism and mob rule. You should be utterly ashamed. You are a disgrace to your uniform.
And then they wonder why no-one came to the aid of the two PCs set upon and injured last night. Instead the passers by took selfies! God help us!
I think I just might write him a personal letter.
Go get him Grizz!
Grrrrr!!!!! 🐻
Oooh scary!😳
So why is Prime Minister Johnson, like his predecessors, so keen on China ?
Especially now that US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has told us that………..
“The United States stands ready to assist our friends in the U.K. with any needs they have, from building secure and reliable nuclear power plants to developing trusted 5G solutions that protect their citizens’ privacy”.
Despite which it’s pretty obvious from Prime Minister Johnson that it will be business as usual with China, even while ”raising concerns”………
”During Prime Minister’s Questions today the Prime Minister said that while the UK should continue to work with the “great and rising power” of China it must feel “absolutely free” to raise concerns with Beijing”.
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2020/06/10/us-offers-build-uks-5g-nuclear-stations-end-coercive-relationship/
You would think that the UK would choose to do business with the US which is obviously a reliable long term friend and partner instead of with a country which browbeats and bullies at every opportunity.
So what is the explanation ? Is there something in the background which we don’t know ?
After all, Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington told us in 1820……….
”All the business of life, is to endeavour to find out what you don’t know by what you do; that’s what I call guessing what is at the other side of the hill.”
I think we can probably guess quite easily what might well be ”at the other side of the hill” in relation to the UK government’s fondness of China, why UK policy frequently looks so similar to multi billionaire policy for decades, and why the UK government is apparently so enthusiastic to build Hong Kong 2 UK.
In 1832 The Duke of Wellington stated of parliament.. ”I’ve never seen so many shocking bad hats in my life”.
I wonder what he would say of parliament today ?
He’d probably be horrified by their incompetence.
..and their apparent love of gold !
We still need cheering up, I think…

‘Morning, Caroline, I’m doing me best, lass.
You are a ray of sunshine, Caroline, and Richard is a lucky man to have won your heart.
Thank you. Modelling myself on P.G. Wodehouse’s Uncle Fred whose aim in life was to “spread sweetness and light” with fairly catastrophic results, most of the time. I am greatly inspired by a friend of ours who writes satirical songs and who said “I’d rather be a cheerful nincompoop than a miserable old sod”! Here’s the song, it’s a wonderful bit of writing.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rouggLdDuQ&list=PLtnyb8KoYfYS7Mr-979NjW3uqFqtB2_k5&index=50&t=0s
Do you remember when he came to stay with us fairly soon after the death of Princess Diana? He had written a song which contained the line “I am a caring carer and I care most carefully” and expressed the People’s Princess’s ambition to become the Queen of People’s Hearts. Events meant that he could no longer sing this song in public for fear of being booed and he did not record it – but he sang it for us, As you know he and Jake Thackray were a great inspiration for me when I tried to write satirical humorous songs.
Jeremy’s most famous South African song was Ag Pleez Deddy and he was the first person to coin the word Jobsworth which he put in this song:

But we’ll never know how many people will or have died from Coronavirus as they are including all and sundry within the figures. This becomes more bizarre and perverse with every passing day.
No one seems to have pointed out that it is national policy to give preferential treatment to BAMEs and cripples in the area of employment. Every organisation involved in employing people, whether the in-house HR department of a big company, a charity, a council, civil service, academic institution, factory or NHS Trust, or an outsourced recruiter, consultancy or agency, has the same policy. At the same level of qualification and experience the job will always go to a BAME/cripple in preference to a white person. Most big organisations have a quota which means that they will keep the numbers of BAMES/cripples up to a certain percentage of the workforce, even if it means employing people who have less suitable qualifications and experience than a white applicant. Some organisations exclude applications from non-BAMES when they can get away with it, the BBC for example.
I have noted on many occasions that when being interviewed for a job the HR person sits in, even though this was not mentioned at the time the interview was arranged. Instead of a one to one discussion with someone who knows the job, one has one’s attention divided. The HR person is not capable of making an assessment as to usefulness. The HR person serves the same function as the political commissar served in the Red Army.
Racism? Heavens, yes!
One has only to watch TV ads to see that confirmed.

I note a number of responses complaining about the use of the death of an innocent little girl to ‘fuel racist views’, whilst simultaneously ignoring their use of the death of a black criminal to further their own agenda. Obviously the word ‘hypocrisy’ doesn’t appear in their lexicons.
He is an Ameican and nothing to do with us.
Starmer, like the majority of politicians says one thing and then does the opposite. Take, “…those opposing racism and oppression in the UK…” He’s anti white British – Labour has abandoned its old heartlands and now chases and nurtures the BAME vote – and he will oppress anyone who doesn’t think like he does: even to the point of legislating to make others’ words and opinions illegal.

Climate change was on track, the pandemic had ticked all the boxes yet still the patient stoic British public were taking it on the chin in their usual calm and placid way, they may have a broken economy, endless years or unemployment and poverty to look forward to, prospects of power cuts, third world public services all for absolutely nothing, but still nobody was losing the plot.

Mosques must fall!
https://order-order.com/2020/06/10/guardian-must-fall/
SURELY GUARDIAN MUST FALL
Guardian columnists are revelling in the destruction of imperfect historical figures, perhaps unaware their employer’s past is one rooted in being on the side of the US Confederacy and opposition to Abraham Lincoln. Will Black Lives Matter protestors begin marching towards 90 York Way?
Back in the 1860s, The Manchester Guardian gave unqualified support to the confederacy during the American civil war; even reprinting confederate propaganda against the slaves’ liberator Abraham Lincoln.
“it was an evil day both for America and the world when he was chosen President of the United States”
– Manchester Guardian, 10th October 1862
Upon the news of President Lincoln’s assassination, the Guardian described the president’s time in office as “abhorrent”, specifically the Proclamation of Emancipation – the act that declared “all persons held as slaves” within the rebellious states “are, and henceforward shall be free.”
Perhaps the opposition to emancipation of slaves was driven by the views of their founder, John Edward Taylor, who made his money in the cotton trade – an industry that prospered on the backs of cotton-picking slaves. After the death of their founder in 1844, the paper continued its relationship with its cotton merchant advertisers, going as far as demanding Manchester’s cotton workers, who refused to touch cotton picked by US slaves, should be forced back into work. Guido’s proud that his heritage is rooted in a history of toiling to end the despotic rule of oppressive leaders…
Perhaps Owen Jones could throw himself off the top of a tall building and save the Islamists the trouble.

Toppling statues of bygone tyrants forces British people to face present-day racism. Owen Jones. 11 June 2020.
British exceptionalism likes to portray the country as a historic oasis of liberty, the slayer of foreign tyrants from Philip II and Napoleon to Adolf Hitler. The demands to remove statues of Robert Clive from Shrewsbury and Whitehall directly contradict this myth. Clive, who conquered much of India, plundered his many victims and created policies that led to the famine of 1769-1773, in which a third of Bengal perished. Indeed, as Mike Davis’ seminal Late Victorian Holocausts detailed, millions died under British rule because of famines driven by laissez-faire economic policies. The last such famine occurred in Bengal in 1943 under the rule of Winston Churchill – who declared he “hated Indians” and saw them as “a beastly people with a beastly religion” – as up to three million starved in large part because of his policies. If Soviet and Chinese famines are rightly attributed to Josef Stalin and Mao Zedong, the British state should be similarly damned for the horrors of India.
This is not a reasoned view of British History but a hate filled diatribe from someone who will make a good Minister of Propaganda in the forthcoming Labour Government. The UK could of course have just surrendered to Philip II, Napoleon and Hitler; though one suspects Jones and his ilk would not have lasted long against the Inquisition, Fouché or the Gestapo. He talks here about Clive who was actually tried for his activities by the British state of the time. As to Churchill he was engaged in defending the UK against a combination of forces that would have been more than happy to do Jones job for him. The 1943 famine of which he writes was largely engendered by the Japanese preventing rice supplies from Indo China reaching India. And so it goes on. There’s no real point combatting these views since I’m pretty sure Jones doesn’t believe them either. To twist the truth requires that you already know it. What they provide is the justification for his hatred of the present system. This is one that largely despises him and others of his sexual orientation, an attitude that not even the recent changes in the law have altered. This has over the years burned its way into his very soul. What Jones seeks is pretty much the same as all Marxists of whatever orientation want. Revenge against a system that has failed to recognise their qualities and rejected them.

It rained again … for five minutes late afternoon, everywhere else had more rain than us.
We really do need some rain, a few hours would suffice, the farmers want it , the grass needs it, the air is so dusty , the breeze is strong , the waves are white and curly , the sand was blowing off the beach , swirling across the road.. Where were we .. Weymouth , filling the car up with diesel fuel from Morrisons .
Our local weather stations have recorded rainfall on seven days this month but the total is less than 10 millimetres. This evening, on the rainfall radar, I’ve watched three hours of rain, often heavy, pass by less than 10 miles away to the north. Last night parts of S Wales, Devon and Cornwall had between 1 and 3 inches of rain.
Moh’s rain alarm showed us that we were surrounded by possible rain sweeping in… around us as if in a vortex!
We had some rain around midday – but not much. It soon dried up in this howling gale. We’ve had the heating on this evening.
We had the heating on last night , but this evening is quite muggy. Windy , dry and warm, we have the patio door open slightly. The sort weather that gives me mind fog!
Gosh, I wish I could pass on some of mine! It’s been tipping it down relentlessly for four days now and the dripping gutters are driving me bonkers!
Where are you Ashes?
East Riding of Yorkshire. Unless it’s slipped a bit in all this rain!
My lawns are turning green again.
I haven’t filled ny car up since January. I went to Cirencester on Tuesday – 27 miles round trip – the furthest I’d been for months.
It’s been wet most of the day here.
Got soaked going to Cromford for the paper & a bit of shopping this morning.
https://www.lepoint.fr/debats/moix-autant-en-emporte-le-vent-non-a-l-hygienisme-historique-10-06-2020-2379362_2.php
An article in Le Point – a mildly left of centre publication – by Yann Moix – made the point that France, U.S.A. and Britain are not basically racist countries but we have become fearful countries – indeed our leaders are so terrified that they have become incapable of either reason or action.
In France the PTB are terrified of the gilets jaunes, black demonstrators and Covid19 – but their greatest fear of all is to be taken for racists and they are so terrified of that that they try to suck up to black people in such an odiously sycophantic and unnatural way that it displays how uncomfortable they are with the question of race and this in itself is a sort of twisted racism.
And in Britain Nigel Farage has been sacked from LBC for daring to criticise the actions and motivations of BLM. We must all despair – we are all being enslaved – and I use the word advisedly – by our craven leaders who are terrified of free speech and are determined to stamp it out.
319993+ up ticks,
Afternoon R,
“We must ALL despair” bloody glad you were not at
Agincourt on the 25 Oct at 2.15.
These “craven leaders” you speak of have been around for years their pedigree well known.
May one ask how do these “craven leaders” get to be leaders in the first place, would these “craven leaders”
if given a choice join a party that would elect their ilk
to a leadership position ?
Have LBC management bottled it under pressure from woke advertisers? Farage was worth listening to because he met challenges, even personal ones, head on and debated seriously. Now, only Ferrari in the morning and Dale in the evening are worth listening to. The odious and so woke O’Brien is followed by ex Al-Beeb, I’m so smart, Fogarty, and the pair just aren’t worth the wear and tear on one’s ears let alone one’s brain.
Perhaps Nigel will go to the USA and be given a voice over there. I can’t think there is any Newspaper, radio or TV programme that would give him a regular spot to present his views. The politicians are scared of him and are giving him the cold shoulder. I suppose the London Mayor put pressure on the LBC to retire Nigel early.
One thing is for sure he won’t be invited to appear on channel 5 TV Vine in the mornings.
That well known leftie AH Vine openly ridicules any one who has a different opinion to his.

The entire narrative of disadvantaged blacks is a nonsense. In the UK everyone is given an equal chance to succeed. Many white children and many black children fail to gain advancement. Likewise many white children and black children gain advancement.
Suffice to say that the individual person has equal opportunities in reality and many share disadvantages such as absent fathers, broken homes and general impoverishment through individual circumstance.
Those with the desire and wherewithal will succeed and those without desire for improvement will fail. The notion that every white person holds an advantage over every black person is complete nonsense.
A cursory glance at the composition of the present Cabinet proves the point. There are aberrations which counter my argument such as the elevation of the cretinous Dianne Abbott and David Lammy against any normal measure of intelligence but this proves awkwardly just how tolerant the UK is, albeit of fools whether black or white.
Thank you for a succinct summing up!!
Edited:
I have kept your comment. it is a worthy ‘quote’!
I hope that is okay?
It’s been known for years that the most disadvantaged group in schools is white, working class boys, but hey who cares about truth.

But there is fury over the statue’s planned removal today with local Tory MP Conor Burns tweeting: ‘The removal of the statue of Lord Baden Powell from Poole is a huge error of judgement. Very concerned by the idea it is on advice from @dorsetpolice’. He added: ‘Are we going to follow the example of the Met and Bristol and let the mob rule the streets?’
BCP council, run by an alliance of Lib Dem, Labour, Green and Independent councillors, took the decision after Dorset Police advised them to remove it ‘to minimise the risk of any public disorder or anti-social behaviour’ after chaos in Bristol when a bronze of slave trader Edward Colston was torn down on Sunday.
Utter madness.. Everything is collapsing so quickly .
Our culture is being demolished .
The fury is what the article is all about – things have moved on since this morning’s council announcement.

No mention of a core dump.
I don’t believe there is a single racist on this forum. We have all over the years appreciated the talent and efforts of black people. So many black artists are part of our memory and culture.
They may have faced adversity. They may have faced prejudice. But they got there. That’s life.
I think that every person on the planet is racist. Few will admit to it.
I refuse to believe that the first thing that registers on another human’s brain isn’t the colour/eyeshape/hair, etc. of the person they are meeting.
They might discount that colour etc. but don’t tell me they didn’t notice.
Of course they notice – but I’d rather judge people by the colour of their politics.
And I’ve been called Muzungu in Uganda. You stick out like a sore thumb there if you’re white.
I couldn’t care less about their politics, if they are fun to be with, live and let live.
My best friend is as far left as I am right. we accept each other’s positions and put those differences aside
I think you have self contradicted yourself. I assume your friend is white.
Only outwardly!
Note to self………must try harder.
It’s a normal human trait to want to be surrounded by people who look similar to you. Like many other things, all my life the left has told me that my natural instincts are wrong and bad.
I class people by their culture and behaviour. There are some cultures I dislike and elements of our own that disturb me.
Our trip to Kenya in February was my tenth trip to Africa – we’ve met many great people and I have the highest respect for them. Only racists judge people by the colour of their skin. We all have the same underneath.
Does ”all have the same underneath” include wanting one’s own tribe to be top tribe instead of bottom tribe or maybe being top or bottom tribe doesn’t matter ?
Does ”all have the same underneath” include wanting one’s own tribe to be top tribe instead of bottom tribe or maybe being top or bottom tribe doesn’t matter ?
Does ”all have the same underneath” include wanting one’s own tribe to be a strong tribe instead of a weak tribe or maybe being part of a strong or weak tribe doesn’t matter ?
It’s natural for people to feel more comfortable with people with similar interests.
Oh sure, and I think that can be part of belonging to a tribe.
Wikipedia apparently suggests that tribe is also associated with kinship……
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tribe
Do you think that’s true ?
It seems to be another non-PC word these days.
Maybe you’re right and maybe tribalism should be swept under the rug and we should all look the other way.
Though Psychology Today published a brief resume of the subject and perhaps got themselves tied up in a few knots by doing so………..

That sounds like a diapertribe.
Well, maybe, but you could try saying whether or not tribalism matters, and if it does, does being a member of a strong or weak tribe matter to you ?
I always work on the basis that you’re still in diapers, you might call them Tena pants but they’re still diapers.
Come on Sosy, you can do better than that.
Does tribalism matter to you ?
I take the view that everyone is tribal in one way or another.
99% just won’t admit it, and all of them want to be in the top gang/tribe.

Khan’s London.
Do they really think that will keep them out?

Today is Sinbad’s thirteenth birthday. Just took this shot of him in his basket in my study. Cheered me up. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/316e70fbc04b3787a741965685448e66be9fd9bf1cfaaf06e7f1b04ecabce85b.jpg
Happy birthday, Sinbad. My pooch turned sixteen and a half on the first of June.
I remember your saying that he wasn’t so well a while ago and being concerned for him? He as come through that all right now and doing well? Our little hound will be eleven in July, how her years (and ours) are flying by.
He had a couple of hiccups a while ago and I thought we were going to lose him, but he’s a fighter. He is often wobbly on his back legs due to the wear and tear in the discs in his spine, but he’s determined he’s going to go for his walks every day. I can’t stop and chat too long because he tells me in no uncertain terms that he wants to get on with it!
He’s beautiful, lovely expressive eyes.
Yup. Sinbad has long sweeping eyelashes and big brown eyes. His appeals for more food and treats are almost irresistible. He barks a lot but is better than a doorbell.
Ahoy Sinbad !
Good night all.
I think ”it’s” probably all here……….
”Belonging is our blessing. Tribalism is our burden”…………

So if ”Psychology Today” is right… judging by history, everything we are seeing, and probably the way you really feel, is normal
It’s just day to day, always as it has been, always as it will be, anthropology.
I expect I’m theonly night owl here at the moment, but for the early risers Tucker Carlson takes a light hearted look at CHAZ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KafIdOk8bLs
Trump is going to get a landslide in November.
Just watching it now.
I see G-TEKV is on the Dover Patrol, prepared to welcome our new citizens and keep them safe.
