Morning everyone.
Good morning, Minty.
Yo all
My computer weather forecast says ‘Rain Coming’
I shall be out there with my cup, to make the coffee.. or has the heat wave gone
When the rain finally arrives I shall be tempted to dance naked on what is left of my lawn. If my neighbours are lucky the precipitation will arrive after dark…
‘Morning, Tryers.
Yo Hugh
I am glad my curtains are drawn closed.just in case you live at No 73
In that case you would miss the spectacle of the police arriving to Section me!
We’ll be out there together, Hugh
People will begin to talk, Wibb.
Good morning, all.
Out watering the important areas of the garden at 05:30, pleasantly cool at that time. Another opportunity today for the climate loons to blather on about our impending doom: it’s only two days, for goodness sake.
Good morning, Korky.
Good morning, Elsie.
Ukrainian spy chief’s dismissal renews questions over Russian infiltration. 19 July 2022.
The Sunday presidential decree announcing the dismissal of the two officials cited hundreds of criminal proceedings over alleged treason and collaboration by people within their departments and other law enforcement agencies.
“In particular, more than 60 employees of the prosecutor’s office and the SBU [state security service] have remained in the occupied territory and work against our state,” Zelenskiy said in his nightly video address to the nation. “Such an array of crimes against the foundations of the state’s national security, and the links recorded between Ukrainian security forces and Russian special services, raise very serious questions about their respective leaders.”
There is no “infiltration”; the truth is that a large minority of the population are pro-Russian! These are of course side-lined and kept out of the public eye by the MSM. Aside from these latest indicators the arrest of the opposition leader and the abolition of all the political parties outside Zelensky’s non-aligned crypto fascist position is witness to this simple fact.

Good morning, BoB.
Good morning Elsie.
Hope you are keeping your cool.
Yes, Bob, I have put my cool in the fridge. Lol.
The BBC doesn’t mention that. It present Ukraine as a single united country with no dissenting voices. Makes the narrative easier, I suppose.
Zelensky’s not a Ukrainian patriot, he’s a puppet of the EU/WEF. He’ll continue along the path laid out by those two sinister organisations until he is deposed. It can’t come soon enough.
This is similar to the situation in West Germany. East German spies were found working in the Chancellor’s office.
He is acting like Kim Wrong un.
Good Morning Folks
Bright start here with a warm breeze.
Off to golf
Good morning, Bob3.
Morning all,
At 05:30 it was lovely and cool here near Canterbury. As I predicted in a post a few days ago, to reduce my biggest electricity use I have switched to running the washing machine after 00:15 and hanging the laundry out on the line instead of tumble-drying it. I had forgotten how long it takes to hang out 36 pieces of washing. Came back in to take a drink and was surprised to find that Geoff had already posted NTTL blog. BBC moaning on about how blisteringly hot it’s going to be and that the elderly should be VERY careful and monitored. We didn’t get to be elderly without being careful, closing curtains, etc, dagnabbit (© Bill Thomas).
Good morning, roughcommon.
Good Moaning, rc.
My pathetic reply to Younger Son’s “enjoy the sunshine” was to boast about drying towels in double quick time.
He nobly rose above the temptation to suggest that the old fart got herself a life.
Ah, but you’re going to have to be careful, rc – they’ve released bison in your neighbourhood. You don’t want to tangle with them whatever the weather!
Two hot days close down public services, leaving the rest of us to get on with life the best we can
One of my phone weather apps say 36C max today ( Met Office), the other 38C the tv and radio weather are saying 41-42C
I wish they would make their minds up
354435+ up ticks,
Morning B3,
They have.
They want us to fry.
354435+ upticks,
Morning N,
If that be the case they could drop the price of butter
Whatever the cause, it’s climate change and requires more money be taken from the earner and given to the slacker.
I see that Kemi got the biggest percentage increase in support yesterday
CCHQ will see to that one.
Can’t have another free thinking, patriotic female leader.

Morning all, and Happy Birthday Ndovu! I am singing it for you now before the heat gets to me (it was actually really hot here in Kent yesterday – no idea of fhe temperature but trying to paint in the caravan didn’t end well, and I flopped on a rug outside and was basically a leopard the entire day); wishing you a wonderful day!
Off to Sissinghurst with the ex’s wife this morning – can’t wait! I usually manage to coincide with great gardens around November, so it will be lovely to see some actual flowers!
Best wishes on your Birthday, Ndovu. Have an enjoyable day.
And I join Korky in wishing you a happy day, Ndovu.
Thanks Elsie 😊
Happy birthday! Have a wonderful day.
Thankyou !😍
Happy birthday!
Thanks Sean!
Thanks Korky!
Good morning, ashesanddust.
Morning, Elsie!! Didn’t realise you were in Anne’s hood until she told me, or you might have been threatened with a visit too.
Thankyou! It’s pleasantly warm here at the moment- might get warmer later. It’s our Silver anniversary today and OH is about to go and play tennis before it gets too warm.
Another celebration! Congratulations!
Well pished tonight… Hic!
We’re going to the Black Horse 🐎 for dinner.
BHM!
My goodness – congratulations!! Hope you OH wins and is in a splendid mood all day!
Hecwas grumbling about his sore achilles tendon when he came home. I’m not very sympathetic and told him tennis makes it worse.
Good morning. I have a Q for you. How big is your rig and could you get it up my alley? er.
Ahem! In Britain we speak of an “outfit” not a rig.
Not sure what Ashes has. But my comment was supposed to be a saucy, flirty joke. :@)
She has a caravan, I believe.
Yes. But what size? I have a neighbour who has some land opposite me for her to park up. No charge !
I don’t know, but I doubt it would be huge.
Happy birthday Ndovu, hope your finding something long and chilled to see you through the extreme weather event. I managed a round of golf in the sun this morning, then had a haircut – if you look carefully, my collar is almost visible again – popped in to see my folks and got home just before the rain started. Hope your day is rather more exciting.
Good morning all. I’m beginning the day as I intend to continue, just spent 7 minutes in the bath of cold water!
A somewhat hazy looking sky today with 12°C outside.
Lia Thomas and the threat to women’s sports. Spiked 19 July 2022.
Thomas is the transgender athlete who infamously smashed multiple records at the NCAA Ivy League women’s swimming championships back in February. Thomas won events including the 100-yard, 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle races and was part of a winning 400-yard relay team.
In other words, the NCAA is apparently seeking to ‘honour the impact of women on intercollegiate sports’ by allowing a biological male to be nominated for its Woman of the Year award. If you are baffled by this decision, you are not alone.
There is of course some considerable irony in that Feminism; the movement that set Political Correctness on the road to destroying Western Civilisation, will be the first to succumb to its poisonous ideology. The rest, Diversity, Equal Rights etc. will inevitably follow as this Doctrinal Cancer kills everything that it comes into contact with. It’s insatiable lust for “reform” will see the destruction of the West. Only those powerful enough to resist, Islam, China and possibly Russia will survive its onslaught.

This is extremely sinister. The people advocating this nonsense cannot be compos mentis.

Good morning m’dear and a Happy Birthday to you.
Thanks Bob!

“transgender rights”. I do not understand. If there is a law against suicide, should there not be laws against self mutilation?
I disagree with the notion of all encompassing “rights”. I prefer the notion of privilege and responsibility.
There must be no transgender rights. You remain, and must be treated as the gender you are born with. Anything else is moronic, an indulgence of fantasy.
If only it was a case of isolated lunacy…
https://www.diogenesmiddlefinger.com/2022/07/the-krazy-old-bat-warned-us-we-laughed.html
I was mulling over the behaviour of a transwoman that I know, and I realised that, as well as other problems, this person has always been addicted to feeling special. Ordinary, boring, humdrum life was never enough; it always had to be the glamorous job, the romantic place to live, the exciting hobby.
Now it’s the ‘excitement’ of the perpetual victimhood struggle.
That’d be narcissism.
Logic taken into the realms of madness.
The story of the C21 West.
Indulging the fantasies of the mentally ill and allowing men to compete against women is idiotic. It is a psychosis that simply cannot be countenanced.
We seem to be living in an era where mental illness is praised, where stupidity is lauded where rationality and facts take a backseat to common sense.
I can only assume this is because we are bored, lazy and fat. A generation that has never known want, never faced uncertainty, never lacked for anything, that has anything it wants a click away has, naturally sought diversion.
In rational times a boy saying ‘I’m a girl’ would be told, no, you’re not. and get on with it. A man wearing a dress would be looked at oddly, as a figure of comedy (which they are), not spoiled. Our very success has made us decadent and foolish. We’ve had men in dresses exposing themselves to children. We’ve had men getting into women’s refuges and raping women. We’ve had men in women’s prisons raping women. A man boasted of hurting women in a fighting tournament. What will it take for the stupidity to end and reason to step in and say ‘you’re not a woman, you’re ill.’ and start treating them appropriately?
Murders, I assume -but then, rape hasn’t stopped the dementia.
A different era with real leaders in both the political and military spheres. Will their like ever be seen again? A good take-down of the nanny state.

Used to freeze me nuts orff in the Libyan desert just before dawn. A jumper was a really good idea!

Good morning, Herr Oberst.
I’ve read about the extremes encountered by the Eighth Army. My reply.

A wooly jumper is always a good idea. I’ve been asked if wearing a jumper in hot weather is a good idea. I think so. Wool is an insulator so it keeps me cool in the noonday sun and warm when it is cool.
Good morning, everyone. Off to the garden now for an hour’s dead-heading before I retire indoors for the rest of the day.
‘Morning, Peeps. A thoroughly sh*tty 24°C here at 06:55. At least I survived the night although not sure how! With a ridiculous 35° forecast today this will be a do-nothing day in Janus Towers. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/aea8ef01d61e0a10bccd5435ae478c169db7f43cadbc3874b897721e9f70469a.jpg
Today’s leading letter:
SIR – It is amazing that this two-day heatwave is so powerful that sectors of the country are forced to shut down. Even more amazing is that the heatwave is so clever that it can direct its major impact on those paid by the public – teachers, GPs, railway workers and the NHS, all having to shelter at home while the rest of us get on with it.

It must be hot: one of my Sudanese carved camels just fell over for no reason whatsoever…
It’s not as hot as forecast, so it got the hump?
SIR – At 6.17pm on Sunday, I received a text from my son’s school informing me that it would close at noon in the impending heatwave. This meant that my son would have to leave a building that might (or might not) have air conditioning and go back to a house that certainly does not.
My wife and I work full-time. We have no permission to stop working. What were we supposed to do?

There will surely be many thousands of parents affected in this way. Time for parents to fine schools if the staff can’t be arsed to work, in the same way that schools fine parents for daring to go on holiday in term time??
Maybe the teachers had already booked their holidays in Spain and wanted time to get to the airport.
…only to find their flights have been cancelled…
SIR – Covid? Work from home. Train strikes? WFH. Wet weather warnings? WFH. Hot weather warnings? WFH.
WTF is going on?

SIR – Yesterday morning, the BBC Breakfast presenter Jon Kay was dispatched to Cambridge to warn us about the apocalyptic conditions we were to face.
Watching the programme at home, we were enjoying our cuppa in a pleasant 23C, with light cloud. Since then the dog has been walked and two loads of washing put on the line. The bed linen has been changed and we’re about to have our coffee in the garden.
The Met Office is 10 minutes’ drive from our house. Why on earth does it feel it is necessary to warn the entire country to take precautions against a threat that really isn’t that grave?

Generation Snowflake is now in charge, Angie.
SIR – Only once before has a Mordaunt commanded newspaper headlines.
In February 1870 the country was riveted as details of the scandalous life of Lady Harriet Mordaunt unfolded in court when her husband petitioned for divorce. Her many lovers included the Prince of Wales, later Edward VII, who gave her a couple of white ponies, which her husband shot in front of her.
In court the heir to the throne denied “any improper familiarity or criminal act” with her. Few believed him. Sir Charles Mordaunt did not get his divorce. “The unfortunate, crazy Lady Mordaunt”, in Queen Victoria’s words, was judged unfit to testify in her defence. She spent the rest of her life in confinement as a lunatic.
The Tory leadership candidate does not seem to be related to her.
Lord Lexden (Con)
London SW1
Letters from Lord Lexden – and there have been lots of them over the years – never fail to fascinate me, and this one is no exception!
Alistair Cooke – that’s who he is. “Lexden” always makes me think of some Asian motor car!!
Lexden, don’t you know, is a smart area of Colchester. Smart, that is, until you pass the Lexden Crown pub and then its desirability as an area to live in falls off a bit.😎
Allan Towers is situated in what estate agents now refer to as “Old Lexden” i.e. you can walk into town.
Have you sold , Anne , and where are you moving to , are you staying in Colchester area.
Fingers firmly crossed. We are hoping to move into a house just round the corner. We asked for a house without the top layer and everything just that bit smaller and more manageable as we sink into decrepitude. But, given the complications over money laundering and the fact that nowadays we are all treated as criminals (hide the matryoshka dolls, shove the talcum powder into bathroom drawer …..!!!) IF the process goes smoothly it will still take us into the autumn.
At the moment, we are living in a strange limbo where we are at the mercy of others. I spent most of yesterday composing professional standard emails to create a paper trail and keep everyone in the loop.
It’s a relief to return to NOTTL and rite normal. !**@@@!!??////*&&&& etc …..
Normal?? You got sunstroke or suffin’? (c) BT
It is an exhausting process sorting things out .
We were going to downsize a few years ago when R’s mother was moved into a n/home in Swanage .. then time moved on and many headaches later we still haven’t disposed of a spare bedroom and 2 lofts worth of stuff we have no idea what to do with . Stairs could become a problem .. infact are a problem sometimes with my rt hip and left knee..
There are many things we never ever imagined decrepititude would present .
Not to be confused with the letter writer from America.
Son of a Colchester GP.
Good morning, all. A warm night. Looks like it is going to be a nice day. Again.
No news, I see.
Don’t know if it has been widely seen, but there was another shooting at a shopping mall in the US at the weekend.
Crazed man with rifle started shooting at folk, and a 22-year-old with legal concealed carry permit stopped him by shooting him dead.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-62217263
What makes someone deliberately take a gun to a mall and shoot random people? Thank goodness there was a man with a pistol that stopped it pretty quickly. Private action – better than the police in the recent school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, where they just stood around waiting whilst the gunman shot the children.
Given the sullen non-service I was given in the O2 shop a few days ago, I can understand carrying a gun when out shopping.
As sullen non-assistant was black, if I’d shot him it would be recognising his cultural norms.
A couple of today’s BTLs have caught my eye. Both are spot on in my view:
Kevin Bell7 HRS AGO
Rishi Sunak does not understand basic economics. He distributed printed money without receiving production in return. He increased benefits and generally disincentivised people from working. This led to a shortage of labour and five million people of working age on benefits. There was widespread fraud, benefit cheating and payments to government cronies with links to China.
Labour and supply shortages meeting printed money created inflation. Energy shortages were caused by reductions in domestic oil and gas production and the use of intermittent, expensive renewables. The higher price of energy and the price cap becomes a poll tax. As the price cap can only change every six months higher prices will be locked in all winter.
Sunak caused the inflation which he now says must be the priority of his hoped for government. But if he didn’t understand how it was caused he will not be able to solve it. Putting up interest rates will only solve inflation by reducing demand which means a recession.
Action is needed to reduce the price of energy, cut employment taxes and reduce benefits to encourage work. Unnecessary government expenditure must be cut starting with HS2 and the Foreign Aid budget.
Most of all we need to start fracking, take off the windfall tax on domestic oil and gas production and open up coal mines.
It is not hard to do. All we need is a Chancellor who understands basic economics.
Gojko Drtcha24 MIN AGO
Yesterday’s temperatures have convinced Prince Charles that what he has been saying about the climate proves him correct. Indeed every time he opens his mouth he proves something.
All of Sunaks decisions were political not based on economics at all.
There’s no concept of economics in his whole brain. I think, as a n ex banker he knows that money is a fictional construct and is used to creating it from thin air, so assumes government does the same.
There’s no concept of economics in his whole brain. I think, as a n ex banker he knows that money is a fictional construct and is used to creating it from thin air, so assumes government does the same.
Que sera sera politics. As its always been. They don’t have a clue, never have. Never stick to a plan because the plans are destined to fail. Nothing really changes.
And hey Charlie you could always take off yer jacket and tie…..I’m sure no one will mind.
‘Morning, Eddy. I’d rather he took himself off. Every time he goes into preaching mode this royalist finds himself moving towards republicanism…
If Sunak, as rumoured, does have links to the WEF then all his ‘decisions’ so far, make sense. Should he become PM and he ignores what he has been saying during the election process we will know that we, the people, will be in for a tough time. The up-side is that the Tory party will implode, maybe before the next election. Tory MPs will have a really tough job trying to convince people that following the route taken by Biden, Rutte etc. to reduce/destroy food and energy production is really worth the social and financial costs.
The same goes for all those aspiring to be PM, including those with no known affiliation to the WEF.
If Sunhat does not have links to WEF, Great Reset etc ik ben een nederlander
They maybe all do. The WEF pick lots of possibles to join their development programmes. Places at the best educational institutions, followed by immediate employment in science, education, finance and politics. Who would refuse? To be picked out to become one of the elite is so flattering. “You are so special”. The benefits are immediate, a fast track route to money and power. Just as long as you follow the policies that they will give you. Which the chosen people will do willingly because they have been educated to be true believers. The WEF people take a long view, almost Chinese in their approach. Pick people in their late teens and twenty or thirty years later you have a happy and willing puppet running a country the way you tell them to.
All of our politicians are Manchurian candidates.
We had a young couple staying in the cottage and it was abundantly clear from speaking with the man that it works as you describe.
His rise through and across NGOs, from the age of 16/17, was meteoric. He had clearly been “spotted” and seemed to have powerful/influential supporters somewhere in the background and is being groomed as a young leader.
Sosraboc, my apologies. – just saw your reply. I am so used to being told that being anti Israel is being anti-Semitic – it is one of the cornerstones of propaganda on the subject, – that I missed your point.
best wishes, Joss
Thank you. I agree completely on that generalisation, usually cast by people who look at a specific part of the problem more than the whole .
I believe they are making huge mistakes on the West bank. That doesn’t make me anti Israel, it makes me anti their politicians who allow the illegal settlements and in some cases encourage them.
Shorthand does lead to problems – not difficult to loathe the US regime just now, but to be anti-American would be a similar grave error.
Indeed
Arabs are also Semites, Jonathan.
True, but you would not know it listening to the screeching propaganda…
If Sunhat does not have links to WEF, Great Reset etc ik ben een nederlander
No, we need a treasury that understands basic economics. However, this is a confusion, as the treasury doesn’t actually care about the economy. It’s interest is in hiking taxes – not because it needs the money, but because it wants the money. It continues to believe that the more tax it takes, the more it raises. This has been proved false countless times in the past but still they persist, seeking to get that single extra drop – because, of course, the money going out increasing isn’t their problem.
…and a B of E Governor who can recognise the prospect of rampant inflation when it is staring him in the face, and to adjust interest rates in good time to head off the worst of it.
Good morning, everyone.
Good morning.
Morning, Phil.
Morning, Delboy.
354435+ up ticks,
Morning Each,
Could it be that seeing the next PM has already been chosen from a line up that each
should, in all honesty be photographed front & sideways holding an ID number card.
Tuesday 19 July: Two hot days close down public services, leaving the rest of us to get on with life the best we can.
Maybe seeing as the voting pattern is going to continue as in, voting for party names with no opposition build even considered, cut out ALL this middle lying ,deceiving bollocks and approach a very likely take over force ie the muslim brotherhood with views of governing.
After all it is surely the electorates aim in the long run
The debris of this last 40 year run by lab/lib/con mass uncontrolled immigration / paedophilia unlimited coalition all recorded by those who choose to look, to seek more of the same is placing a premature death wish on following generations.
Morning all 😃
Our garbos were out early, couldn’t help but hear them with all the windows open.
After a chat about the changing culture of our country with some of our family yesterday. I’ve been trying to imagine just exactly where in the region of 100 thousand plus illegal migrants are being accomodated. And what it is really costing the hard working UK tax payer’s. And what the future holds for our grandchildren.
Perhaps some brightspark TV presenter or reporter might take the opportunity to ask the prospective candidates for the role of PM.
There are a lot of British people who deserve an explanation as to exactly what is happening.
There’s endless waffle about how awful it is that the population’s declining but then you look at why. The blacks and browns don’t pay in, but they take incredible amounts out. The state is encouraging the dross to breed while forcing the worker to pay for it.
Eventually there will be no one paying for it and the country will be a third world toilet.
Agreed and at least one of our diversity groups never stop moaning.
Our own indigenous population is in decline because our younger generation can’t afford to have children. But of course they are expected to provide income and home comforts through taxes to support the lazy.
That’s how civilisations end…see Rome for further details.
Wait, what?
https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/5482d9ccf35198715f77dd84fe4ba256f3904fffb47cdfb347c186958d3257cd.jpg
Gas plants are incredibly efficient. Solar however is absurd in this country. It was obvious we needed more power plants. We should be doubling our energy capacity. If greens don’t like it, feed them into the reactors.
So many simple things need doing:
More power plants
The immediate deportation and permanent exclusion of all criminal gimmigrants
An absolute end to welfare
An end to the HRA, climate change act, and equalities act.
That’s a tiny fraction of what needs doing, but the first and most necessary.
‘Morning Wibb. Not all gas plants are efficient – today we are having to run Open Circuit Gas Turbines and they are anything but. As I type, our 11,000+ bird choppers are contributing just 14%. Even coal is in use this morning. Twelve years of Tory rule have failed to provide a reliable and affordable energy supply, such a vital requirement and probably the main route to prosperity. In fact, the position has worsened under these clowns. And it is no good someone popping up and telling us that ‘the other lot’ would have been even worse! The Tories have a lot to answer for.
Labour would have kept open the coal mines and built power stations just to use the coal to keep miners in work.
As result of that barmy approach we would still have cheap electricity for homes and industry and energy security. (and for electric cars)
I’ve just ordered my winter fuel (anthracite and house coal). It’s gone up quite a lot, of course. Worse, when I was checking the telephone number in the Yellow Pages, none of the new editions has ANY coal merchants listed at all! They have been cancelled 🙁
They have been following Milipede’s mad Climate Change Act. That was where the trouble really began. And in the Coalition, Cameron invited two of the maddest, Huhne and Davey, to be energy ministers.
Was that before or after his ickle windmill loosened the gable of his house?
Must admit I do quite well out of solar even up here
Solar might make a useful contribution to an individual property but as part of a national system it’s useless.
Agreed
In the crazed world of government thinking and taxation, we would have to pay “Electricity tax” on home-generated solar power for ue at home, if we had an array – even though the sun is free! State gotta get more than its pound of flesh, doncha no.
Surely you wouldn’t have to pay tax on that which you generated but exported to the grid.
I get paid for every unit I generate whether it’s exported to the grid or I use it myself. I’m also deemed to have exported a percentage for which I get paid extra . However before any is exported it is routed (quite legally) through my immersion heater so I’m getting paid to heat my water and save oil in the process.
If we generate it, we pay tax, exported or used at home.
I guess the logic is that, by not using grid power, we are depriving the government of their tax and VAT, so we have to pay it anyway. Or some such bollox.
You ought to get a rebate for what you export to the grid to be used by someone else – seems a ridiculous system and one which would deter me from having the panels
I was woken by the smell of smoke.
It is caused by the wildfires which are nearly 80 miles from us as the wind blows.
Unpleasant and initially very worrying.
Some years back, East Anglia was treated to an all pervading pong that appeared to be town gas crossed with sloppy dog turd.
Apparently it was an easterly wind wafting across as the Cloggies spread slurry over their land.
It will be worse when they eventually spread their politicians and greeniacs

“Thousands of beavers are now re-established on riverbanks, where they are busily building dams on flood plains woefully neglected by the Environment Agency.
In the Norfolk resort of Cromer, the council is employing a herd of Bagot goats to keep the grass down on cliffs. They have proved so popular they even have their own ‘goats on slopes’ merchandise, including tea towels, mugs and key rings.
Elsewhere, rare giant African land snails have been spotted near London Bridge station, where they will have no problem staying within the blanket 20mph speed limit. It is believed they caught the train from Kent, after arriving by dinghy from France. These monster snails are among the world’s most dangerous gastropods and should not be approached, as they harbour the rat lungworm which can cause meningitis. When they turned up in Florida recently, an entire county went into emergency lockdown.
Meanwhile, wild bison are being reintroduced in Kent, 6,000 years after becoming extinct in Britain. Apparently they will help combat climate change by creating ‘biodiversity and habitat resilience and locking in carbon’. But what if they decide to break for the border and start rampaging round the M25?
Still, it might help dissuade XR activists from gluing themselves to the motorway, lest they find they are trampled to death by a stampede of bison. That’s what I call an extinction rebellion.”
Morning Anne
Giant African snails are regarded as a main meal to West Africans , we enjoy a steak or trout and they love a meaty snail.
We used to see baskets of live snails on the Nigerian market stalls .. I suspect West Afticans are bringing their favourite meals here to the UK , they have a similar appetite for chimp meat and perhaps even Albino children ..
If you had seen the stuff that I have viewed in African markets , you would be repelled .. and I worry that so much stuff in ethnic shop freezers goes unchallenged in this country . Diet for many wasn’t always Groundnut stew,
I’m sure some monkey parts are delicious when slow cooked, but I can certainly do without monkey nut stew, Belle.
A pox on it.
🤣🍗🥩
For F’s sake! Get rid of the bloody vermin! Why are African snails, smallpox, typhoid getting here? Because the wretched state is importing endless gimmigrants. Tow the damned boats back to france and destroy them – have the vermin swim for it.
I had the misfortune to hear some of the Toady prog this morning; and to glance at The Grimes.
Both seem to be very cross and disappointed that thousands did NOT die yesterday – but rather that millions had a nice day on the beach, by lakes and rivers and in the garden. Must be maddening for them.

How goes the job hunting? Any news?
Where are you based and what sort of work are you looking for?
Based in Peterborough now, no vehicle, and IT support and repair work is usually what I do these days.
Last job was ecom support sold as IT support. The company didn’t even have a server. They don’t really need someone with IT skills they need someone handy with excel and who knows the programs Mintsoft and Cargowise. I wouldn’t have stuck it long.
As a supplementary to Wibbling – how flexible are you as regards location? Would you consider a consultants position, working in different locations around the UK or abroad?
Cool and overcast here in the Scottish Borders. Looks unlikely to be as warm as yesterday, which was just like the summers I remember. (Not the ones where I remember standing under trees as the rain fell relentlessly.). The forecast is for 32C ˚ (80˚ in real money). I doubt it.
This “Let’s panic the public” approach has become nonsensical.

OT – I watched the final (of two) parts of the documentary about the construction of the Elizabeth Line. There was much made of the substantial extra cost (over budget) and the late delivery.
It occurred to me that extra costs seem to be the norm in very large projects. And that there must come a time when the client realises that he’ll have to pay the extra because not doing so, or cancelling, would be a catastrophe.
That made me wonder when that point is reached. Is there some sort of accountancy “law”?
Answers on the back of a railway ticket..
Morning Bill. I always assume that when any large infrastructure project is mooted that it will cost at least three times the price given. This has proved remarkably accurate over the years!
Indeed – Channel Tunnel; Haitch Esse Too; big bridges etc etc.
But what is the answer to my ponder?
Well “accountancy” is outside my brief, which is probably the reason I’m so accurate! Lol!
HS2 was billed at 100bn. It will cost nothing less than half a trillion and be many, many years late – at least 2050. By then it won’t be needed as technology will have surpassed it – technology created by market demand, not state dictat.
Come in with a low price to get the job knowing that if the government are involved there will be ample excuses to increase the cost because of the poor way governments send out ill thought out tenders and subsequent contracts drawn up which makes it uneconomic for either side to withdraw
And, frequently, be able to blame the “previous administration” for getting it wrong.
That’s why there are frequent changes in cabinet positions
I think even Victorian mega-projects overran, both in time and money.
Certainly the raillways did – so no change there.

Ukraine is no longer a Western priority. 19 July 2022.
Britain, America and the EU are turning their attention away from Kyiv at the worst possible time.
More worryingly, such diversion isn’t just a feature of British politics. It is a phenomenon across the West, occurring at precisely the worst time for Ukraine. In America, the political and media spotlights have turned to the mid-term elections in November. And while most American voters, on both sides, back Washington’s support for Ukraine, their main concern is economic issues that directly affect them like the soaring inflation, at least one third of which is directly attributable to the war and sanctions against Russia.
These are just excuses. What has really happened is the cost of Sanctions against Russia in the present economic climate have become truly frightening. There is a real possibility that the entire economic structure of the West may collapse! No one can say this publicly of course, hence the bumf above.

I think once it became known that the Ukes were flogging the kit we gave them……interest waned.
There was an article in an American publication about a month ago from a disillusioned American who had joined the Ukraine
forces. Basically he said that a lot of the new stuff went into a large warehouse in Kyiv, and was never sent to the front line.
He implied that it was being sold to foreign buyers.
His report was totally ignored by the western MSM.
Anybody got a copy of the article to post here?

Well … I hate to pee on the media’s hysterical meltdown … but last night MB and I had our best night’s sleep for about week.
I slept well last night, too – but we have a fan on all night.
We are old fashioned – we open a window. (Being on a quiet road does help matters.)
Will you still be on a quiet road in your new home, Anne?
My God- is the Pushy One moving? Have the new neighbours been warned?
You jest. MB was pottering round tidying up the front garden. One of the neighbours chatted with him and said that she hoped he was moving in ‘as it would be nice to have someone young moving in next door’.
MB kept very quiet; he suspects she’s probably younger than him. (Though possibly not with such good eyesight.)
So – have you moved? Are you moving? Or are you staying put?
Please read the question carefully, and write on one side of the paper at a time.
Yes. That was one of the attractions.
I slept well – but I kept getting out for the loo!

Why did they even try to tamper with his natural ignorance – after all his mother got no “O” levels at all and she didn’t let that hold her back.
Mind you my mother didn’t take any school exams as there was no need for her to do so. She had a governess at home who taught her what she needed to know. She did go to a posh girls’ school for one term and didn’t much like it so she went back to her governess.

But what the hell has he done!?!

Once again a very Happy Birthday to Ndovu and congratulations on her silver wedding.
We shall be driving to England on Thursday for our Christo’s wedding and we don’t know whether we shall have access to the internet while we are away for a week or so. That’s what comes of not reading properly! Thanks Phizzee ! I feel a complete twit now! Oh! He says he doesn’t mind!!
Thank you both, Richard. I am very lucky with the genes I have. That is why I would not allow Pfizer to modify those genes. I am fit and active, no mobility problems. Onward and upward!
To the Queen, you are merely an irritating small boy.
Her Maj is only ten years older than me.
I sat outside yesterday evening and when I closed my eyes it felt like I was in Roquebrune, near Frejus, where many a happy childhood holiday was spent.
I was planning to take my mother there on hols last year – a trip down memory lane – but her cancer came back and she needed treatments. Then we planned for this year but her passport had expired. She applied for a new one in May but hasn’t had it yet.
Maybe next year if she’s well enough, DV.
Fingers crossed for her, Stormy.
Thank you. She’ll be ninety next month but battling on, getting more out of the NHS as a patient than she ever paid in as a consultant 🙂
What did she specialise in ..
You must be so proud of her, bad luck to have the big C revisiting her .
She sounds like a stoic lady .
Epidemiology. Stoic ain’t the word. In the past ten years or so she’s had two eye ops, a pacemaker, a mastectomy, Morton’s neuroma, and various other minor bothers.
They don’t make em like that anymore.
That is a lovely idea , and I do hope your mother is strong enough to enjoy her hol with you , I hope her new passport arrives soon .
I spent a bit of time in Fréjus and St Raphael. As you say, a good place to be.
I’d .ove to go back for a visit, mind you, it will have changed so much since I was last there, I don’t want to be disappointed.
You can’t recapture the rapture, as they say.
That is very true. I’ve often found it was a mistake to go back.
Penblwydd hapis i Ndovu and Tier5.

As it’s my birthday – here’s another one – taken on my 5th birthday……… hard to believe I am now the same age as my grandmother was when she came to live with us in 1953.

Gosh – didn’t people look so much older then than people of the same age today?
You must have been a tall child , J
.Are you tall now as an adult?
A matriarchal phot , if ever there was one .
No – I’m 5’4″ – or was before the old age shrinkage.
Same as me , well an inch off now I think .
I haven’t been measured for a long time. Last time was probably when I had a bone density scan some years ago.
Happy birthday, Ndovu! How time flies.
Many happy returns, J!
We have made a collage of pictures and had it framed for Christo’s wedding day later this week so he can see just where he came from!

Wonderful memories and a lovely idea to present to your son Christo . Caroline looks so like her mother . Both of you appear to have much older parents .
Our respective ages at our weddings were:
R’s Father 33; R’s Mother 27
R 41; C 26
C’s father 25; C’s mother 25
(I think photography has improved a bit!)
Lovely photographs. What I find depressing is that I was married (the first time) only NINE years later than Caroline’s folks!!!
Lovely! Your father’s shoes are interesting…….

Here lies the risk for Russia. It can go for broke in trying to make the EU’s resolve crumble this winter by turning the power off in as many European countries as possible. But Putin will have only one shot at this, and if he fails and Europe’s reserves are big enough to survive to next summer, the west will be on the brink of breaking free from its dependence on Russian gas. Putin will have permanently blown up Russia’s chief source of income and largest gas export market.
But it is the avowed intention of the EU to cut itself off completely from Russian gas so Vlad will be doing nothing more than bringing that date forward. With such a scenario it is actually in his interests to cut it off now while it still remains a viable weapon rather than wait for it to be struck from his hand!

If the general population is starving and freezing they will force the politicians to change tack. If he’s going to do it you are correct, now is the time before Europe can build up sufficient reserves.

Well, what do you know, the Bering Straits are blocked by ice. Probably because it is summer up there and there is global warming to contend with.

I think you’ll find it’s Brexit.

Any unreconstructed lefty would say that if it’s Maggie, Hell must have frozen over

Grass grows in many forms and is a staple diet for men and beasts
Ice floats on water. With every other product that I can think of, the solid is denser than the liquid.
If that happened with water, the ice formed at the poles would would just sink to the bottom of the sea and slowly spread to the equator, freezing the oceans as it went. we would have no rain, as the heat from the Sun would be insufficient to vapourise the ice.
That would stuff Net Zero

Perhaps you should announce yourself as world climate envoy and travel the globe passing on your message. And making sure all other countries are taking necessary action.
We seem to be one of the few countries that takes any notice. It’s so easy to make an overall judgement from your comfortable position.
I think that you will discover that you are banging your head against the proverbial brick wall.
The Met forecast from yesterday is somewhat adrift:-

Project FEAR lives, Robert.
39C here at the moment but I’m shivering in the office and it should be down to about 27C by the time I set off for the Albert Hall. Going to the 10.15 pm late Prom, Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas with Alice Coote as Dido. Coote is a fashion victim, bless her, but a good singer.
That sounds like a nice evening, Sue. Do you live far from the RAH?
No, I’m in Hammersmith so it’s just a bus ride.
How .ucky to be c.ose enough to go to events like that without it becoming an ‘event’.
Heatwave proves I was RIGHT all along about climate change, says Prince Charles
While speaking at an open-air event to mark his 70 years as Duke of Cornwall, Charles said national commitments to reach net zero have ‘never been more vitally important’.

Who needs unprejudiced objectivity when we have intellectual colossi like Prince Charles to do our thinking for us!

This is why I believe immigrants are taking over the country.
All the natives in positions of power have gone insane.
I fear for the U.K. now. He might not reach the throne if we carry on like this.
I don’t remember him mentioning that he’s so fantastically ahead of the situation in 1976.
Charles is an effing idiot. He should keep his unscientific claptrap to himself and his tulips.
32C indoors today
Just been lying in the paddling pool for an hour

As Britain records its highest ever temperatures, it is not only humans struggling to cope.
I’m sitting here at my computer. A breeze has got up that occasionally blasts all the papers off my desk and rattles the blinds as if it were a Winter Storm!
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2022/07/19/cat-keeping-cool-everyone-britain-right-now/
It is currently 31’c indoors. I’ve brought the pool in and got the watermelon out of the fridge for Mongo.
Beast remains sat in with the warqueen – both hissing, spitting women together in 19′ heat.
A blast of warm air coming in from outside now!
OT – request for info. There used to be a very handy website called ceoemail.com. Tried to look at it today: “This site can’t be reached”
Nay NoTTLer able to do so?
Straight to it – no problems! Maybe try a different browser?
Thank you – tried two browsers – same message.
Odd things happen online – last night I was trying to buy from Fish for Thought – first browser got me to “Place Order” but then wouldn’t do it, next browser gave me a fleeting image of the page, then just white space and the third got me to “Go to Cart” and then wouldn’t move!! This morning – straight in, no problem!
It’s when GCHQ are having a shufti at your PC’s hard drive.

Oh come on – he WORKS for GCHQ…!!

What did you buy? They have 30% off lobster at the moment. Have a look at these people. From Brixham. https://www.hamiltonsfish.co.uk/index.asp?function=search
We had a lobster splurge last time they had 30% off – this weekend crab sarnies
I made Thai crab cakes. I didn’t buy their crab as the price has doubled. Ocado M+S white crab meat is half the price and good quality.
Thai and die.
Stupid boy !
It’s the heat, doncha know?
Try closing your browsers entirely and reboot them and try again.
Straight in Bill. Here’s the link https://ceoemail.com/
Thanks – still doesn’t work for me.
Have you tried turning your device off and the on again. Might help.
Yes – done all that.
Gave the link to the MR – instant access.
Works on Chrome for me.
The link works for me on Chrome (laptop) and Safari (phone).
Just me – still if it works for the MR – that’s fine.
Odd, though.

Thank you, Bob, nicked and posted on Ar5ebook.
That’s where I saw it
My handwriting is famously illegible. I went into a shop in Chester when I was on a course and the woman behind the counter complained about it. I said, “I’m practising to be a doctor.” She didn’t understand the joke.
I usually do OK with heat but am struggling a bit today- slept OK but it is a bit more humid today and the house is retaining the heat.
MH went to the hospital for a blood test and was going on to the shops…he came straight home. Too warm he said.
On the plus side… many of the inmates here who are always going round on their walkers and messing about with watering- are all in hiding.
Oh and we are not alone…. a heatwave in the US is defined by 3 or more days at 90 +F …..CT, USA is officially having a heatwave. Just trying to cheer y’all up.
A lot of fear is being generated about the current high temperatures in the UK but the human abililty to survive in such weather extremes depends on the wet bulb temperature – a measure that defines relative humidity and hence the ability for the human body to cool through sweating.
Here’s an explanation of really how close to heatwave extinction we are based on wet bulb measures:
https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/heat-and-humidity-are-already-reaching-the-limits-of-human-tolerance/
and here’s a current map of the UK to work out how close you really are to extinction:
https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/6b9f3095e5c6e99f80388b1183f2bb10b221d2d8b611587e3f672ccc2a1206d2.jpg
https://meteologix.com/uk/observations/united-kingdom/wet-bulb-temperature/20220719-1200z.html
Not sure how to read it, but i assume higher is worse. Either way, it’s 16’c in Scotland and I’m leaving Stornoway house brochures about the place.
We are at about 26, my estimate, and that is around the wet bulb point, on the England /Scotland border, just North of the Cheviots. Oh well, seems warm, even hot, for Scotland.
Had a slight shower a couple of hours ago.
Higher is still worse bur there is far more headroom for survival than temperature alone because as humidity lowers and evapoation increases we can sweat more.
The “Scientific American” was one of the few things at school that I read with any interest. Apart from the French stuff like “Poil de Carotte”.
Bit windier today though, lots of dead leaves blowing in the paddling pool from next doors eucalyptus tree.
The hot weather must be coming to an end.
Managed 14 holes this morning.
Nothing like a bit of golf to cool down!

That lucky sod, falling in that cold water.
But it did mean losing one of his balls!🤔
I put the parasol up, but had to take it down again as it tried to achieve VTO!
As the weather is so hot I asked the Hermes delivery driver if he’d like
a bottle of cold water. When he said yes I dropkicked it over a fence
into my neighbour’s rose bush and told him I’d left it in a designated
safe space.
That’s unfair.
They don’t drop kick them. They throw them.
I’m not saying it’s hot in my living room,
But two Hobbits just walked in and threw a ring into it.
Hang on, I’ll get it. It’ll be cooler in the lava than sat here.
I’m not saying it’s hot in my lebensraum either, but two nazis just came and threw 451 books into it.
Temp edited
451 books would be more apt.
That’s what I’ve put, isn’t it?
It is now.
Well possums; salamander though I am, I have to admit that it’s hot! Fortunately I slept well last night and I had a nap this morning so I feel OK. I’m not sure that I am going to feel the same later!
Get a clean bin bag fold some tea towels in them, put them in the freezer. After an hour or so take one out and fold length ways and wrap it around your neck.
Works a treat.
Certainly does Bill I’ve still got four in the freezer.

Interesting how a change in position can affect the temperature.
33° in the shade just outside the back door in the yard a short while ago with the sun shining into the rest of the yard.
50° and rising up the “garden” in full, direct sunshine.
28° at the back of the house now fully away from any direct sunshine.
I got a quiche out of the freezer to defrost. Just popped it on the side. It’s cooked!
Beginning to cloud over a bit here now. 30c in the kitchen, probably 25c in here (sitting room).

More disconcerting is my laptop – a macbook lark – has started to properly struggle so going to turn it off.
I thought you and Mongo were in the paddling pool!
Oh? Where’s that third layer?
Looking glum, Grizz. Run out of coffee??
Simri-ing away nicely, in the heat.

You can ditch the flat cap. You’re not in Yorkshire anymore Dorothy ! Besides, a Panama would go nice with that linen suit.
I was thinking the same… didn’t have Grizz marked down as a snappy dresser!
He isn’t in that cap.

Kemi Badenoch is out of the Tory leadership race after the fourth round of MP voting.
Rishi Sunak topped the fourth MPs’ poll on 118 votes, adding three from his tally yesterday, while Penny Mordaunt came second adding 10 supporters to reach 92. Liz Truss, the Foreign Secretary, placed third with 86 votes – 15 more than she received yesterday.

Could very well be her saving grace dodging contamination and awaiting a future move.
To take this misbegotten collection of political tripe the tory (ino) party over at this time, is on par with trying to save the Titanic

After this short intermission the final curtain coming down on the United Kingdom cannot be far off.
Looking at the line up initially the big question should have been ,
” You can’t be serious…. can you”

One wonders how many people are going to be affected by smoke inhalation. The smell of the smoke here, many miles away, is very acrid and there is a haze over the valley. It is most unpleasant, even to the extent we are foregoing our pool sessions today.
Wear a mask.
What Sos says ain’t funny. We had fires at Laure – and even though they weren’t large and were eventually extinguished – they were very alarming.
I’m a crawler not a frog.
I’m sure that if this was in the UK the MSM would be searching for people who die partially because of inhalation and would blame it on climate change.
That’s a good idea. Any idea where I can get one?

What relevance is the bit about hottest night, perhaps they meant Hottentotest night.

No wonder they don’t want young people to study and understand Shakespeare – he is far too perceptive.
It is amazing how often a phrase or quotation from Shakespeare comes into one’s head which seems to go to the very core of what is happening today.
Now that people are seeing how disastrous the replacements for Boris Johnson are they are beginning to think that Johnson was not so bad after all.
It hath been taught us from the primal state,
That he which is was wish’d until he were;
And the ebb’d man, ne’er loved till ne’er worth love,
Comes dear’d by being lack’d. This common body,
Like to a vagabond flag upon the stream,
Goes to and back, lackeying the varying tide,
To rot itself with motion.
(Octavius Caesar in Antony and Clleopatra expressing his worry that Antony could continue to be a political threat to him)
So Johnson, seen to be totally worthless and not worthy, can still excite wistful feelings amongst the common populace.
I read that as wristful feelings –(truly apt if the common populace believe him to be a vanker!)
I could begin to take Shakespeare stuff seriously if it wasn’t written in unintelligible English.
Well – just shows. We have our OWN local cornfield fire – about 5 miles away. Very alarming. Still, firefighters are “attending”…
Have you checked the field for magnifying glasses?
Someone just arson about??
fire
flighters?Prevening, all. We hit the magic 40 degrees C in the area outside the kitchen today (it was 110 degrees F in the greenhouse!). Even at about 0845 when I took Oscar round the block (late on parade and I made sure we kept to the shade as far as possible) it was 30C.
It was 57ºC in the greenhouse earlier, now down to a seasonal 44ºC. Will defer going out until later.
Back from messing about on the River. Here are a couple of shots of a ?replica Manchester ship Canal Vessel; John Donne’s pad which has had a superb renovation, and a shot of Dapdune Wharf after closing time. Very quiet after 5:00pm. The National Trust run a superb second hand bookshop there. I picked up ‘Seven Pillars of Wisdom’ by T E Lawrence and in this heat felt as if I was on the camel next door. Have you ever wondered how transport etc has ever managed in hot countries. How their trains still run when it’s hot. A couple of days of heat or cold and this country is totally roggered. Nanny club wokey W⚓ ers.

My new first word was a ‘gimme’ …
I don’t play, but surely using the same letter twice should be a disadvantage?

I didn’t use the same letter twice …
My first word established the second and fourth letters and another letter that could only be first or last. That narrowed the field …
Perhaps you should give Wordle a try, srb?
it was joke on you using “gimme” in your comment…
A two too, possibly only my second.

What will happen after the next election? Supposing nothing happens between now and then to hand the Tories an unlikely victory, what will Labour do in office, assuming it wins a majority? Will it do everything that might be expected of the modern Left: relax immigration controls, granting an amnesty to illegals; increase taxes greatly; apply extreme eco-policies; seek a new ‘arrangement’ with the EU; seize private property? Or will it be ‘steady as she goes’, knowing that if many 2019 Tory-voting ex-Labour supporters vote for it, they will not countenance such policies, especially those that diminish the idea of Britishness or Englishness?
The other possibility is a hung parliament in which no party can form a working coalition. With a power vacuum like that, something very nasty could happen in a country which is increasingly fragmented racially, culturally and politically.
Italy, here we come.
Interesting reaction/interaction.
We have two fans, in sweep mode, facing opposite each other.
The air turbulence has created a much much cooler environment. It might be psychological but it is certainly a lot more comfortable.
Don’t forget to drink water. The fans dehydrate you. You might turn into a mummy !
Beers instead of wine this evening.
Good for your electrolytes.
We have a punkahwallah. With punkah. Stirs the air and makes everything better.
I have an inherited, Victorian, hand-held fan – old-fashioned, me 🙂
Invariably, I prefer new-fashioned fans who get on with it … :))
My daughter in law tells me that she was standing in the rain near Cirencester about an hour ago.
Lucky lucky girl!
Was she singing and dancing, Bill?
I had an email from Steve today south of Perth WA. They are lighting fires in the evenings to keep warm 5 degrees at night. Not consistent with his glowball warming expectations. It seems that Prince Charles needs to have a word.
Never vote for any politician foolish enough to stand in the rain.

I got Guava long before you me old fruit.
Odd that it didn’t appear on her post, did you forget to answer?
I thought I’d replied to Phizz but it looks as though it didn’t upload. That has happened to a couple of my comments today.
I saw your reply of Brillo Pads.

It’s something to do when “housework” is a no no for me in this weather! I enjoy it.
Housework? What is this strange thing of which you speak?
I freely admit it’s not my fave occupation!
I did it today but it is very much harder than wordle.

That’s me gone. Waiting for the air to cool before watering. I fear we may have lost quite a few hydrangeas. Trouble is – we must keep what water there is for the veg.
Have a jolly evening. We are beginning to plan a short trip to Brittany in Sept – a part of France I have never been to – despite first visiting that lovely country in February 1949….
A demain – in the cold and (I wish) rain….
My parents were regular visitors to Brittany. Loved the place. Hope you do too, Bill.
As Floyd says, the best restaurants are family run in the back streets near harbour.

40.3 C Coningsby Linc’s is all i’m hearing from the bbc, if they had shown such zest & zeal towards digging out their resident paedophiles they would have saved a great many peoples a great deal of suffering.
Point of fact if foreign paedophilia received the same amount of media attention as does climate change there would be a great many grateful peoples, BUT that would not sit well with the lab/lib/con supporter / voters coalition awaiting a new leader to lead to deeper depths of treacherous shite, promising much more of the same.
lab/lib/con/ murder incorporated what a combo.
Disraeli wrote a novel called Coningsby in the mid 1800s. A political-romantic novel. I read it yonks ago but can’t remember a thing about it;-)

Evening LotL,
If the politico#s were of the same stock as now, then best forgotten.
According to Queen Victoria, Disraeli had a sense of humour. Gladstone she disliked- saying he addressed her as though she was a public meeting.
But, yes, politicians never change. Different era- same priorities.

No that’s the World Health Orgasm……(Deep penetration by big Pharma so I’m told….)
Judging by the pictures of an empty auditorium at the UN, no.

No, not mentioned in msm, but only in supermarket gossip magazines on display at check-out that nobody in their right minds will read them!

Great excitement – RAIN great big raindrops, yaaay.
Sadly only lasted 2 minutes! But there is thunder around so fingers crossed.
My phones says it’s 31c and raining here but it lies. There’s a breeze working up but that’s all thus far.
Can any of you help? We have recently switched mobile provider to EE. I’ve just tried getting onto TCW website but cannot – it just stalls, no error message. I use Firefox as a browser. I can get onto all my other usual websites e.g. Speccy, Guido, babylon bee. I remember reading that TCW has been blocked in the past by EE. Does what’s happening to me sound like I’m being blocked by EE? Any ideas, anyone?

Download Opera, built in VPN,should sort it
Thanks – will investigate!
Interested. Does it work with ipad or just for Android?
Yes EE among others have blocked TCW.
I switch to THREE (my Internet hub) when I want to read it, as I use EE for my cell phone.

And I mean a few! Over as soon as it began!
I’ve just finished watering the plants and had a clap of thunder. Just my luck.
Same here.
Good night, everyone. An early night for me tonight.
I don’t know if any of you have seen this facility before. I’ve only just done so because it was featured in tonight’s East Midlands Today with film of the Ladybower Reservoir, completed only in 1943, dried up and empty in 1949 (it’s happened since).

I suspect he believes he is trying to counter – a lot of folk think otherwise….
