Morning GG
Good morning.
Some rare good news from the WHO, but apparently the treaty is still alive and well. This victory is only one battle along the way.
Some nations voted down changes in regulations that would have turned the WHO into a de facto world government. But if our representative signs the treaty which makes similar provisions, which I think is in November? then it automatically becomes binding on the UK. (or perhaps some little traitor has already signed it, and it automatically comes into force in N ovember?)

‘Morning Rik! Love the tats in the second one! Very ‘now’!
Morning Sue. The couple to the right are really sneaky.
But soo diverse! ‘Morning Minty!
The blond must be a bloke with those shoulders
We (my mum and dad and I) have spent the last 4 days open-mouthed at the tats and fat on display in the public houses of Dorset, Devon and Cornwall. We knew it was bad but it’s worse than i thought.
Anyway only 2 more sleeps before I wash again. Dreaming of my bath…
My only thought is that the slobby ones don’t possess a mirror – or a Mummy to advise them not to go out looking like that!
The flab and tats are the downside to a warm summer.
Bring on the “Season of Mists and Total Tatlessness” …..
I felt like that after a week in Strasbourg. Not just visiting the EU parliament, but only having showers in the hotel.
Yes, Sue, they caught my eye too! Very up-to-date. I’m lurking in bed this morning – new pup wanted to go out for a tiddle at 3.00 am, he told me by walking up and down the length of me (as children might hop from one leg to the other) and then pulling my hair between his teeth and then, nibbling my ear. Bless.
Love it! Aren’t they a joy? We’ve got our daughters newish Lab pup coming for her hols tomorrow! I can’t wait – the cats probably can!!🙄
You’ll have fun! Enjoy your time with the pup!
She’s a joy! The cats are a bit wary but I’m sure they’ll get used to her! As she lives on the farm she has a tendency to copy the collies, and tries to herd the cats! Well, you know the expression…
MIssed the option for aeroplane delays of “Late incoming aircraft”.
Three times a week at Norwich ‘International’ Airport, when I worked there, the departure of the first flight of the day, the 0620 to Amsterdam, was delayed.
The routine announcement to passengers by passenger services was, invariably: “We are sorry to inform passengers on the 0620 to Amsterdam that the flight has been delayed because of a technical problem with the aircraft.”
Some time later, a member of the ground operations crew informed me that this invariably meant that the pilot had overslept and was late for work.
In a similar vein, the 10PM flight from Halifax to St John was frequently delayed. By some coincidence it was when a hockey game was on and the pilot was in the lounge watching it on TV.
And “maintenance problems”.
What rhymes with climate change? No it doesn’t
Strange! (Good morning, btw.)
Love the tats on the grounded travellers.
Good attention to detail.
The best tattoos are those in cartoons and not on people.
THIS is a tattoo.

Good Morning Folks,
Blue sky here except for the sky seeding trails
Grey here.
Sunny and calm here (storm forecast for later)
Good morning all.
Not quite 8°C outside but dry, with little wind and what appears to be a blue pre-dawn sky!
Morning Bob. A storm this evening with high winds.
British culture ‘will disappear’ without migration controls, says Braverman. 26 September 2023.
British culture will disappear if immigration remains uncontrolled, Suella Braverman has warned.
Speaking during a visit to the US, the Home Secretary said in a speech that migration to the UK and Europe in the past 25 years had been “too much, too quick” with too little thought given to integration and social cohesion rather than the “failed dogma of multiculturalism”.
Citing the 108,000 migrants who had illegally crossed the Channel since 2018 and the 2.8 million who had entered the US this year, Mrs Braverman said uncontrolled immigration made it “harder for society to adapt and accommodate new cultures and customs” as she set out her proposals for world nations to tackle the problem.
It’s already doomed of course. Only revolution and the most stringent measures could save it and there is no chance of that.

Good morning, all – grey – dry.

Morning Each,
Wednesday 27 September: Backtracking on HS2 now would be a betrayal of northern England
The peoples of northern England as with the rest of the nation should be well use to being treacherously stitched up seeing as much of the stitching was via their own hand, X.
Unless the peoples of northern England are collectively off their chuffs I would strongly imagine they would have preferred to have local / main line existing services updated to the overall cost of the HS 2 eu appeasement project, if they had been asked.
It is now just a vote winning / losing issue, fodder for fools to decide via the polling station and who is to politically rule the UK out of the lab/lib/con coalition party.
If HS2 had started in the North, with interconnections begun there rather than in London it would have been cancelled years ago.
The huge potential for disaster that EVs and lithium ion batteries pose appear to be ignored by the authorities. This commentator in Australia maintains he is not anti-EV but he comments on the fact that there are very serious concerns regarding safety that are not being discussed- let alone addressed. Here he comments on a current situation where a giant Tesla battery storage facility is being left to burn- as there is no other alternative and it is spewing dangerous pollution into the air. As a former TV news guy he is doing this as a news story- in a way he reckons the MSM will not emulate. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LH2UOC2TMng
Amazing how one model of Boeing aircraft has problems with lithium ion batteries so their introduction into service was delayed significantly. Yet EVs are erupting frequently but no similar “grounding” had happened.

Got a sister works for electric co. duwanna meter.
https://youtu.be/ShpP22d7Wxg?si=_jbWJcF8ZYpe-_lW
Smart meters – the displays – are designed to frighten people into using less electricity – less fuel generally to allow big government to meet entirely pointless green targets. This is the social engineering element the state is so big on.
The correct solution is to meet and exceed demand by building more power stations to make energy cheaper but big government wants the after office jobs at big international quangos. They are the horror we are being forced to endure.
Technically, no, you’re in no danger from the radios. No, you’re in no danger from 5g. No, you’re in no danger from wifi, telephones, wearing trousers, using a compass. The problem is what they are intended to do. No how they do it.

Apologies for DM link, the quality of which might or might not be higher than the Telegraph these days.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/health/article-12564903/ADHD-Expert-shares-five-little-known-behaviours-habits-people-neurodivergent-condition-symptoms-signs.html
Doesn’t everyone do these things? Listen to the same song over and over before switching to another song; putting off small tasks because getting your head around doing them is more difficult than the actual task; sitting in the car for a few minutes at the end of a journey; constantly bumping into furniture?
I certainly put things off. But that’s procrastination rather than ADHD. I don’t normally bump into furniture unless I’m not looking.
I have a feeling that anyone can get this diagnosis if they try hard enough. Or perhaps it just runs in my family.
It’s another excuse to shirk from home.
Do they include going in to a room and forgetting why you’re there? We’ve all done that countless times too. Doesn’t mean we have mental disorders. However when you’re a man and think you’re a woman or vice versa…
ha ha so true!
The ‘in a room/forgot why’ is because your hind brain is working on a task and doesn’t tell your forebrain. Then you go out and the two match up and lo! It’s not weird, or odd. It’s just massive parallel processing.
In a CPU this would be a very long instruction pipeline abandonment causing ultimately a slow down in the computation but because the brain isn’t one processor but millions, combining hardware, software AND programming in each neurone it it’s far less an issue. Tying shoe laces, for example is the hardware wiring for the hands, the visual comprehension, the routine and the associations – all in one tiny blob and why once created, you don’t have to really think about it ever again until that bit gets damaged.
My brother listens to the same song over and over until he knows the words and can map the notes. He does this very quickly with most ‘modern’ music. He’s not listening to it though, it’s analysis, not enjoyment.
I would like to know why (some) women, once filling the petrol tank up sit there, fiddling about before moving off. It’s utterly the wrong environment, there’s always someone waiting. It’s a complete lack of spatial awareness.
And I should be studying. I’m not because I don’t think I can do it.
And the joy of realising that you’re not the only person who does it. “So it’s not just me, then”.
I think it’s fairly normal.
I said that over coffee after church on Sunday. The batteries had gone down in the microphone and I thought my hearing was giving up! It was only when other people complained about not being able to hear clearly I realised it wasn’t just me!
My great problem is that soon after I start telling a story I distract myself and go off on what I think is a very interesting tangent. And then I find I have completely forgotten why I started telling the story in the first place.
However my lovely wife not only has heard all my stories many times before but she usually knows what point the story was going to illustrate and so she can get me back on track.

And no one in our generation left the arm up un the record player to get the same tune to play over and over again.
I certainly put off doing small tasks! Once I’ve got started, I’m fine.

I am a “news avoider” but I’m not to blame for the current slump in Today listenership as I’ve never listened to it.
Ditto!
Good point.
Perhaps he means “people have recently become news avoiders, but that is nothing to do with the quality of the news we are putting out.”
I think people listening to the Today programme are news avoiders. Certainly it’s not a news programme. More Lefty agit prop.
What’s weird is how Left wingers desperately pretend the BBC isn’t hard Left. When you challenge them they fall apart. Everything is distorted through their demented lens.
I used to do so but I now wake up to Radio Suisse Classic https://www.radioswissclassic.ch/en
I don’t avoid news.
I avoid propaganda.
Unfortunately, these days they appear to be one and the same 🙁
We need a Jack de Manio
I haven’t listened to Today since he retired.
Very wise and perseptive.
We need a Jack de Manio
Usual excuses from the bbc, it’s always everyone else’s fault.
Has he considered the ratings are falling because they’ve stopped presenting news in favour of propaganda? A Democrat wonk was being interviewed by Robinson and he oh so tentatively said that ‘maybe people think the inflation is possibly caused by Joe Biden?’ Well, it isn’t possibly maybe, it was. Inflation IS the mass injection of borrowed money into an economy.
By desperately trying to twist it into a Trump rant he refused to confront the fundamental problem and he allowed the Democrat wonk free rein to avoid the question – something he would never do with a Republican.
It’s sad but Today interviews are predictable:
Left, introduced as ‘leading academic’ when they’re a serial quangocrat, rabid communist professor and demented Unionist who’s worked for Labour and now the communist party: 5 minutes of uninterrupted drivel.
Right, introduced as ”Capitalist responsible for the pollution’:
So, you are poolluting the world, aren’t you?
‘Well…’
‘Answer the question, you are, aren’t you?
‘It’s a question of’
No, you are.’
‘If you’d’
‘But you won’t admit the damage you are doing.’
‘We are…’
‘Sorry, you’re going to have to answer my question. Your company is evil, nasty and damaging and should be shut down, shouldn’t it?’
‘But..’
Well, our listeners will have to make up their own minds. Thank you leading academic in the field of being amazing, and evil capitalist causing the pollution. We know who to blame. ‘
For 13 miserable years since Cameron we had We hate Trump, we hate Brexit, we hate the Tories. It was three tiresome topics every single day. They’d change the order but the record did not change. Even an arch Lefty I know recognised it!

Any woman who says a woman can have a penis is a traitor to her sex (and stupid to boot).
Same goes for male knights of the realm who lead the current Labour and LibDem parties and share the same views.
Any woman who says a woman can have a penis is a brain-dead quarter-witted moron.
That so-called joke email about 6 brave kids suing 32 European countries over lack of action over climate danger is true.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-66923590
Too few virgins tossed off a cliff to appease the Sun God. This is what comes of teaching children that there isn’t any such thing as objectivity and they can make their own reality.
Intriguing how no one … anywhere … is concerned, an iota, about human overpopulation.
The World Economic Forum is often charged with having a plan to depopulate the planet, along with Bill Gates, Pfizer and other nemeses I cannot immediately bring to mind. I thought the sars-cov-2 virus and the vaccines created to counter it were both designed and released with the express intent of killing hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people. Those responsible have already been accused of genocide.
Problem is it nobbles the richest countries, not the poorest where the problem is.
We’ve reached a level where our technology outstrips our competence. Do you, for example, Grizz, know how to create a processor? We might know about combustion engines and could even make one, but the really high end stuff?
In the third world they’ve no technology at all and worse, have no impetus to advance because we give them everything they could possibly want. Until we leave the developing world alone to cope with the problems we – by proxy – cause (famine, drought, disease) they will never have the need to build roads, rails, pipes and reach the tech level where mass breeding isn’t necessary to survive.
.It is a painful equation that to save the world people must die. Our social development must match our technical one.
My paternal grandfather, a Devon GP, thought that Britain required a better quality of population so he had 11 children!
But don’t worry the balance is now being restored as the most ardent of today’s breeders are not necessarily of the highest quality and if they do not produce enough mewlers and peukers the government can always import more.
A GP with Plenty of practice 😉
I postulated that this would happen 20 years ago. I had wondered that if any of: famine, drought, a natural pandemic, warfare, or global thermonuclear war had not solved the problem; then intervention by those in power (by whatever means) might soon be a considered option.

Elon Musk, meanwhile, is trying to raise awareness of population collapse. I think the issue is that it’s collapsing in all the wrong places, which is to say, in the developed world.
Whenever you sit in a traffic jam, see rioters or massive uncontrolled welfare shopping there is concern about over population.
They should be as it is the root of most of the worlds problems. Its the elephant in the room.
Our country is fast becoming a dustbin of diversity.
“It is an alarm to member states, to organisations…” Well, then, let those members states, organisations, etc. sue the Portuguese morons in turn for several billions for causing them alarm. If the “journalist” who wrote up this story doesn’t know the difference between an alarm (alert?) or alarm call, then they can sue the reporter who wrote this drivel. Bah, humbug!
In a court of law they have to produce evidence – evidence that will be cross examined. In a way, this is ideal as it’ll utterly destroy the Left’s insane ideology. Of course, I ignore that the entire state machine is biased and bent.
Nothing to do with arson then?
No chance. Look, a squirrel on fire!

An AK47 would sort that scum out
Why would any policeman use an AK47? They would be thrown to the wolves by their management to appease the mobs.
No need to go that far, just bring back water cannon and tell protesters that the pink dye is made with pork fat.
Or just add soap, when confronting JSO, XR or any of the other sanctioned ‘protest’ trustifarian oiks.
I would use the AK47 – the police needn’t get involved.
Water cannon were bought but Khan sold them – I’d fill them with shite and pork dripping yes
The Israeli police use a water cannon that sprays a skunk-like substance over rioters.
Water cannon loaded with pig shit?

This article I don’t understand, nor the case: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2023/09/26/donald-trump-fraud-case-new-york-judge-civil-lawsuit
If Trump made it all up, why, when the valuations went in were they not properly scrutinised at the time by auditors and valuation experts? It’s all very well complaining now, but why didn’t they stop this at the time?
Just TDS I think.
Because its a political fix and nothing more. Its just a witch hunt of the great man.
of course it’s a witch hunt, that is all do nowadays. It’s much easier than running a country by tackling inflation, immigration and rampant crime.
Just taking a leaf from Neros fiddling while Rome burned book,
Finally admitting the ‘vaccines’ caused harms…https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-12562479/Covid-vaccines-vaginal-bleeding-women-period.html
Will Mark Steyn and Andrew Bridgen be brought back to GB News – on their way in they could shake hands with Laurence Fox on his way out!
Interesting, this. I quote from the article:
However, research later released showed while menstrual changes do occur following Covid vaccination, they are minor, temporary and do not impact fertility. (my highlight)
I have a friend whose 40-year-old married daughter was struggling to conceive. She finally resorted to a fertility clinic and has very recently given birth to a lovely, healthy, baby boy.
However… while she was undergoing treatment, she had to have the Covid jab (this is France, remember, where the vaccines were effectively compulsory). She was told in no uncertain terms by the fertility clinic that the Covid jab was 100% incompatible with the fertility treatment she was undergoing – the Covid jab would simply wipe out all the effects of the fertility treatment. Faced with the prospect of losing her job, she had to make the decision to put her fertility treatment on hold while the effects of the Covid jab worked their way out of her system – 6 months, the fertility clinic said.
It has all ended happily, fortunately. But the “do not impact fertility” comment is simply untrue – and that’s the advice from a fertility clinic who presumably know their business!
Thank you, Caroline.
Rarely does something as factual as that information occur.

Don’t worry; under the SNP it will still seem as long.

Do you have an actual fryer, or do you just put more oil in a normal pan?
It seems so wasteful unless it’s something you do frequently.
Good way of spraying the walls and ceiling with hot – unremovable – fat…
I use groundnut oil in a wok like pan. When the oil cools it goes back in the bottle.

Massive alcoholism and drug dependency have done huge damage. What do the SNP do? They make the goods more expensive. That won’t deter an addict, which creates crime.
It is a simple logical deductive process that politicians utterly fail to get past the first hurdle.
Normal person:
Why do people drink
Because they’re unhappy
Why are they unhappy?
Because there’s no enough money/work/fulfilmment in their lives
Why is that?
Because they can’t get a job?
Why can’t they get a job?
Because we’re tax and waste socialist morons who are destroying the economy
Why is that?
Because it makes politicians feel more important than they ever can be.
Why do people drink?
Err, we don’t know. Let’s make alcohol more expensive.
Very much OT. And will only be of interest to very few NoTTLers.
Yesterday, I mentioned that the MR had been told that her French bank account would be closed after 1 Jan 2024 as she is no longer resident in France (etc).
She did some research and discovered that Crédit Agricole have an online bank called “Britline” – which enables non-resident non-EU people to have a euro bank account and credit card.
Sounded too good to be true. I phoned them and spoke to a Frenchman who had fluent English to ask what the catch was – and why, if CA could offer this, the existing bank couldn’t. His reply was (obvs) that it was kosher AND that other banks could do it if they wished but he wasn’t surprised that our existing bank would not!
Worth thinking about.
Useful info. I have a friend who may find herself in the same bind.
Glad to have been of assistance.
Good morning folks, thank you for the birthday messages yesterday. I spent the morning running my folks to Ayr Hospital; they had been on holiday in Scarborough and Whitby the week before last and on their final day had gone for lunch and my mum, heading for the restrooms, failed to spot a step and fell. Upshot; she broke her left wrist and the side of her head is a carousel of colour.
The paramedics and hospital staff in Whitby were very good to them, they scanned her head as well as her wrist before putting on a half cast. Sandwiches and drink were provided as they’d missed lunch.
On their return home, I took her to Ayr Hospital for a review and they replaced her half cast with a velcro splint. Lightweight and removable for ablutions. However, yesterday the doctor decided to play safe and her wrist is now in a full cast for the next three weeks.
Thankfully both are fine (much better this week now the shock has worn off) and my dad is now attempting to utilise his engineering skills to operate the washing machine.
Other than that I had a quiet day.
Oh what a shame. Hope mum wasn’t in too much pain.
Much happier this morning when I dropped some shopping off.
As long as you didn’t drop it on her foot … 🙂
Poor your Mum. Not a nice way to end a holiday. Hope she recovers quickly.
A belated happy birthday. Ouch, sorry about your mum’s mishap.
Holy Smoke.
Let’s hope the next 364 days are less hectic.
Missed your birthday – Happy Belated!
What a way to spend the day…
Not trying to out do feargal but my operation was scheduled on my birthday. At least i got extra ice cream !
Did I miss your birthday, too? Aaaargh!! Sorry.
Can’t complain about extra ice cream, mind!
You didn’t miss it at all. I was being ill !
The ice cream was clotted cream vanilla. Sickly. So i gave it to the nurses.
Do get well soon. Washing machines are easy. Most things go on a cotton cycle. 2 tabs in the front, softrinse in the middle one.
I’m fine and dandy with a washing machine. It’s my dad who’s going through the crash course; I’m sure my mum’s careful instructions will have him hoping she gets well very soon. 🙂
Hope your mum recovers quickly.
BTW was her half cast light brown as they used to be? :-))
Ouch! Wrists can be nasty to heal well. Glad she didn’t do too much damage to her head, other than, it seems, superficial.
I see that Wednesday is not on the “full list”. Have to get in via Tuesday…

That last comment regarding Sniffer Joe’s unaffordable spending increases, it appears a number of RINO helped push though anot her multibillion care package for the laundromat in Kiev. Just like Westminster, the country is run by self-serving fools.
Edited to specify which part of the financial lunacy the RINO members voted through.

Bit bloody late.
They probably don’t know it’s an EU project. Most are probably screaming ‘evul torweees!’ in an attempt to blame them.
Yet the project was started under Labour.
Going out for eye-test. See you (geddit?) later.

In today’s clown world, it will probably be hailed as a great success.
I really don’t like Twitter because it hides the original piece.
Laurence Fox has caused another stir and has been suspended by GBNews. He was in conversation with Dan Wootton over remarks made by Ava Santina in a discussion with comedian Geoff Norcross about male suicide.
The TwiX video below is from the account GB News Spin Room, dedicated to ‘Exposing Far-Right Misinformation’. It doesn’t show the whole of the exchange between Norcross and Santina, who dismisses concerns about male suicide with the remark that it is ‘because women are unsuccessful’. What? Unsuccessful in what? There’s certainly something missing there. Nevertheless, Fox has been foolish and GB News is heading for more trouble.

https://twitter.com/LozzaFox/status/1706946727331123591
I hadn’t heard of her until today. What a poisonous piece of work.
Unfortunately, ‘our’ side is struggling in the media and, unfair though it is, the likes of GBNews will be held to higher standards than the MSM.
I need to hear the whole thing but because they did it is not an excuse to do it yourself. Down that road is Lefty.
Women are more unsuccessful in topping themselves, perhaps?
What Fox said was perhaps rather off the point – it’s her message, not whether she is in his opinion unshaggable because of her attitude, that matters; but Dan Wootton’s riposte that she was “beautiful” was just as inappropriate.
Both men (one homosexual). Both very male-oriented comments. Both completely off the point.
Dan Wootton is far from being a lone homosexual on GB News – there are very many homosexuals who appear regularly .on the channel.
They are very prominent in much of the media and arts.
Their sexual proclivity does not (and should not) add or detract from their message as guest, host or whatever, or their professional conduct in that capacity – I just found it funny that two men, of different inclinations, both homed in on a very traditionally male way of addressing this woman’s comments – her shaggability and her appearance.

The eagerness this person has to blame GB News – who have said such behaviour is unacceptable – is moronic. I doubt they address that presentation because it doesn’t suit their narrative.
As for Lawrence Fox – what an utter berk. Truly, idiotic not just to say such but to even think of women – of anyone! In this derogatory way.
Laurence Fox must have had a few drinks before saying what he did on live television and he was most unwise to say what he did. How crass can you get?
However the fact that the odious Ava Santina can get away with showing such callous disregard for the fact that so many men commit suicide is not right.. She too needs to be condemned.
Laurence Fox used to be married to Billy Piper so I do not know who is now on his list of whom to ‘shag’ and whom not to ‘shag’.
Will Laurence remain as the leader of the Reclaim Party or will Andrew Bridgen as a Reclaim MP step up for the job?
Interesting that this popped up on the same evening as that silly and dreary old buffoon, John Simpson, effectively joined the American Democrats in trying to get a campaign going against Donald Trump on the self-proclaimed impartial BBC!,
Britain helped plan Crimea Black Sea navy HQ strike, Russia claims. 27 September 2023.
Britain and the United States helped Ukraine strike the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in annexed Crimea last week, Moscow has alleged.
Maria Zakharova, the Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman, said: “There is not the slightest doubt that the attack was planned in advance using Western intelligence assets, Nato satellite equipment, and reconnaissance aircraft.”
The missile strike was carried out “in close coordination with the American and British intelligence services,” she added.
I’m surprised that Ms Zakharova thought this worth saying. I’ve always taken it for granted that the US and UK are doing everything possible short of actual hostilities to help Ukraine. There is for example undoubtedly a very large NATO presence in Ukraine, mostly in the guise of logistics and technical assistance as well as financial support for the civilian sector. This is the only possible explanation for Ukraine’s military performance. A history of this war written ten years from now will look very different to the present day MSM coverage. In actuality we are, as Mr Lavrov recently observed, at war with Russia without actually fighting .
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2023/09/27/ukraine-russia-war-live-sokolov-black-sea-mod-offensive/
And, according to the reports I read, it was a British supplied Storm Shadow missile that was used for the strike. I wonder how long it will be before Russia decides on some form of retribution?
It crosses my mind that none of our idiot politicians, egging on the Ukrainians, have thought that the U.K./Europe will be the first target for Russia if and when Putin decides he’s had enough provocation.
As long as they take out Brussels and Strasbourg i can die with that.

Good afternoon, sane ones!
An article about how a Harry Potter panel is being cancelled because a tiny proportion of the population (who would probably be in mental institutions if we still had them) feel that they might be not “safe”. How ridiculous is that – it is the trans MEN (who want us to think they are women) who do the raping and assaulting; if anyone does not feel safe it’s real women, by society giving into these trans thugs.
I sometimes wonder if some of this has been aided by the female hormones that have been flushed into our water system throughout the decades. Affecting what should be men, who get enough hormone to feel “female” but without the mental (as well as the physical) attributes that commonly go with femaleness. Hence why trans “women” are so male in their thuggish behaviour – on the whole, it’s not the way women fought for equality.

Good afternoon Hertslass
I see that your ‘Guest’ down voter does not give his name. Was it not Voldemort, the dark lord, whose name had not to be mentioned?
Good afternoon Rastus,
He can do what he likes (and I would bet a lot of money that it is a “he”) – unless he comes with an argument, I couldn’t care less. I am already a zero hero – i.e. a troll bot once cancelled all and any upticks that I got, so I don’t really care about the odd downtick. It’s nice to see upticks but a downtick without a comment is of no consequence.
Hope you both are thriving!
I find downvoting daft. If you’ve nothing to contribute, no coherent argument to make you have nothing to say. A cheap downvote is simply the electronic equivalent of sticking out your tongue – meaningless.
I – and I think we all – would far prefer engagement to have an alternative perspective and open the debate up fully.
I claim my right to stick my tongue out. If Prince Louis can do it, why can’t I?
My incoherence is cheap and I am a skinflint.
Wonderful last line – I might pinch that in the future!
Whato hertslass. Activists are loud, shouty and violent thugs who do their cause no end of harm. Ultimately they are the reason these things fizzle out eventually.
For us normal people, the problem is that for the activist, nothing is ever enough. The state forces (us) to give and give and give and for the activist more is always demanded until no more can be given and then the real face is exposed and the Left become violent, abusive and spiteful. (Perhaps better to say even more so).
Oi! Who you callin’ sane?? 😉🤣
You have your moments, dear! xx
The gathering storm . wind is building up, no rain, and still very mild .

Very nice. Life in the slow lane, eh?
Well, I am back – and was told that I now met the tests for NHS cataract treatment. And that if I decide to do it, there is a wait of only a few weeks.
To be honest, the only problem that the cataracts cause is night driving – and I try as far as possible to avoid that.
So – decisions, decisions…
Amazing machinery the optometrists have….
I do not have personal experience, but everyone I know who has had them done has been absolutely delighted with the outcome.
I shall sleep on it.
Very sensible.
I’m the same as sos; all the people I know who’ve had it done have thought it was wonderful. When my time comes (I have incipient cataracts) I shan’t hesitate.
I am coming to that conclusion without sleeping on it!
I have an incipient one but it doesn’t appear to be getting any worse. My main problem is diplopia, and that’s not good for driving.
You wait till you see the Phaco-emulsifier!
I have had one cataract operation and my sight in that eye went from sepia to ‘white light’ and very clear. I’m waiting for the hospital to call me in again soon to have the other ‘sepia’ vision corrected.
As far as I’m concerned it’s a chance for enlightenment. :-))
Thanks. Very helpful.
TOP BTL UNDER REPORT THAT WOOTON & FOX HAVE BEEN SACKED BY GB NEWS
When Anna Soubry made obscene remarks about Nigel Farage
on the Andrew Marr show there wasn’t a murmur from Ofcom.
The Left and the Anti-Brexiters have taken out obscenity and mendacity licences so they can say what they like about The Right with impunity and without fear of retaliation.
But Has Laurence Fox had an unsuccessful lobotomy?
The PTB, OFCOM and the left wing MSM are itching to get the bad goods on GB News and Laurence’s stupidity has played into their hands perfectly and it might well bring down the channel – which, of course is exactly what the PTB and MSM want.
377169+ up ticks,
Afternoon R,
For once I would side with soubry and look who is standing in for farage, one mr tice.
Yes the Fox was certainly loose among them old chickens.
I know that you do not hold Mr Farage in the highest esteem but I do find that he is a very good TV journalist.
WTF? This is insane. GB News will have no presenters left soon, at least none that anyone wants to listen to.
In related news, Jacob Rees-Mogg was knighted today, thus confirming his loyalty to Charles the Thurd and the Great Reset.
Many words have a silent ‘h’ in them: such as honour, hour, honest, heir and vehicle.
May I take it that the word Thurd that you use with reference to the Idiot King has that sort of ‘h’ in it?
Pronounced like the Th in Thames.
I’ve watched a few hours of the channel since it launched. I’ve been unimpressed since the outset.
Looters ransack Apple and Lululemon stores in Philadelphia. 27 September 2023.
More than 100 teenagers swarmed Apple, Lululemon and Foot Locker stores in Philadelphia, making off with clothes and expensive tech.
Some of the looters in the Centre City district were wrestled to the ground by police on Tuesday night, however officers were vastly outnumbered.
Footage shows hooded rioters piling through the door of an Apple store at around 8pm, grabbing display models as sirens wailed in the background.

I think shoplifting has risen in the UK, but the Mail helpfully ran an article today saying that it’s all being done by white women in their fifties who are so well off in their comfortable lives that they seek thrills. (eye roll).
Great, so we can look forward to having our footsteps dogged by security guards now.
Thuggish ones?
I am offended and will create a giant storm on Twitter, insist that you be cancelled and that your cats issue a grovelling apology.
The self service checkouts, ah, what a delight. Every single time I break them. I think folk are thinking as you’re an employee of the shop for the duration you should be rewarded for your efforts. It’s theft, let’s not pretend but I see their point.
Was in the M&S the other day and was encouraged to use their self service checkouts. They’re the future, the man says. I say, ok, could you put the items through for me as well? He did. And he did for the lass behind me. She commented ‘May as well have left it as a normal checkout, shouldn’t you?’ I grinned and ran for it.
I went into Tesco last night (I know, but I wanted some Polos and my usual shop was shut – I ended up not buying them because they were almost twice the price!) and only had one item (a loaf that was reasonably priced). The woman in front of me at the checkout (a Tesco employee) suggested I use the self checkout. I told her I didn’t on principle, you’re doing yourself out of a job. “I know,” she replied!
Why baulk at this particular example of technology usurping jobs? Do away with your vacuum.cleaner and washing machine then employ a house maid and launderess. I know I’m being facetious but it contains a kernel of truth. We use supercomputers instead of armies of clerks. Farmers use machinery instead of farmhands. I don’t know why self -checkout is a step too far.
Maybe because I’ve bought the vacuum cleaner, washing machine and dishwasher to save me the manual job of doing it. I go to a shop to be served, not to do the job myself (after all, they are only saving money by not employing staff and I doubt it will be passed on to the customer in terms of reduced prices).
Ask them who you should send an invoice for your time to. I completely befuddled one of their managementy types with that.

It’ll have to be an air fryer as oil will be banned by then.

Yes but the climate is made up from the weather over a long period of time rather than the 200 years they seem to think it is.

Overcast and dreary since lunchtime here in s.Cambs, a few drops of rain late afternoon, not enough to call it a short shower. Then over two hours it slowly cleared away, and night has taken its place.
It’s been breezy here, mostly dull, but mild. This corner of England, mainly South, South-East, London, South Midlands and East Anglia have got off lightly.

I’ve been away for a while, is there any news of LotL?
same question.
No – she hasn’t been seen for a couple of weeks at least – Rose sent her our good wishes and an e-card but got no response. It seems likely that she could be back in hospital but we don’t know.
Thank you, I hope she’s getting good care, but the prognosis certainly isn’t good.
I hope her son has been able to see her. Last we saw of her she seemed quite perky and her sister in law had been visiting.
I recall that, it seems a long time ago…
It was several weeks ago – she had fallen off a wheeled stool and was rescued by one of the workmen outside. She was cheerful about it. But perhaps she was injured by the fall or maybe just ill.
If anyone happens to know her surname, they could call the hospital(s) in Bournemouth.
Sadly, not.
One’s concern just mounts.

NHS bureaucracy unveils first ever national uniform as bosses ditch traditional male and female sizes – so here’s what the TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY-SEVEN different coloured wokeiforms will mean.

Good job there isn’t a funding crisis at the NHS then
Oh…
Wait…
Odd indeed.
The uniform presumably reflects the skillset/speciality.
I very much doubt that a trainee nurse would be allowed to dress up as a consultant to reflect their identity and nor would a nutritionist be allowed to dress as a gynaecologist to allow them to view puddingdenda…
I thought it was their job/rank that was identified.
Traditional male and female SIZES? So a petite Phillipina will have to wear the same as a 6′ 4″ Nigerian?
Of course.
On the reality side I suspect that each uniform will be available in 999 bespoke sizes even though 9 general ones would be viable
No more male and female sizes but what about sizes for all of those 57 genders?
This really is a horrifying sound.
https://youtu.be/5NlzT4zKFew
I’ll give that one a miss then.
Prevening, all. Another wet, windy day – wind around the equinox? Whoda thunk it? Amber warnings are out for gusty weather and attractions are closing early. Shropshire is in full project fear mode (except at chateau Conway).
What is the letter-writer drinking? HS2 would never have done anything for northern England, other than offered a means of escape (assuming one could have afforded the fares, of course)! Far better to have developed the Free Ports idea.

If ever a ‘distraction’ was needed it was now… and the playbook says ‘Get Trump’.
Right on cue, in a stunning decision on Tuesday, a New York State judge found – with no trial or jury – that Donald Trump, his family, and his business, theTrump Organization, was liable for fraud, and ordered what experts in New York financial crimes say amounts to the dissolution of his company.
In a 35-page ruling, Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron (D) revoked the New York “business certificates” belonging to the Trump Organization and any other New York-based business run by Trump or his family – while ordering that an independent third party will be tasked with “managing the dissolution of the cancelled LLCs.”
“It’s a staggering judgement,” said John Moscow, a former financial crimes prosecutor for the Manhattan district attorney’s office.
“It means you are no longer a company, and the judge is appointing someone to take over the assets and distribute them as the court sees fit.”
“It’s comparable to once a person dies. A dead person can’t sell property. Only the executor of the estate can do that – or in this case, the receiver.”

That article is occasionally spot on, but a lot is utter garbage.
The workers we’ve employed have arrived at eight and worked non-stop, even though we provide coffee/tea while they work, until noon. Normally they take an hour for lunch and work until five, those who take two hours work until six.
They leave the work space immaculate at the end of each day.
They stick to the quoted price and don’t leave the “job” until it’s finished.
The locals here cannot have been more welcoming. Our French language skills are poor, but we always try to converse in French and even those fluent in English allow us to speak in French, correcting gently.
We deliberately chose a commune with relatively few Brits, so that we would be “forced” to integrate.
We have no regrets over moving here.
The granting of oil and gas licences in the North Sea has brought a predictable response, the best of which has come from Packham: “An act of war against life on Earth.”
Radio 4’s PM followed the headline with a report on the withdrawal of companies from new windfarms in the North and Irish Seas. I’ll listen to it later.
Have they run out of puff?
I would love the opportunity of having a one-to-one discussion with that brain-damaged imbecile. His veganism has malnourished his neurons.
Here’s one for you.
On TV and in theatres, you have a “show”.
Why, on radio, is it not called a “tell”?
Ask William…
That’s me for today. Nice until it rained just as the cats woke u and wen out. They came back pronto.
I think I WILL go for the eye op. Th 95% success worries me as – automatically – I imagine myself in the 5% failure group. Still, so long as I can drink…
Have a jolly evening.
A demain.
Yo Bill,
Which eye op?
Cataracts.
Cataract.
Just make sure you have just one eye done at a time.
I have just had both eyes done: it is a doddle:
Lie down, look up at Disco light
feel water around eye and light shining
After about 10 Minutes:OK get up, we are done
Eye drops for a Fortnight (the hard bit)
You will probably need to take the lens for that eye out of your specs
I can read my kindle, glasses free
After second eye you may need Laser treatment: see top of page; Lie back and think of MR, and pussies
I had mine done and now all I need glasses for is close-up reading.
Just make sure to have them done separately in case something goes wrong. After all, Mr Thomas, to lose one eye may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like carelessness.
If you are referring to cataracts.
My younger sister and my best mate Dougie P have both recently each had a cataract removed. All is well for both.
But that does shorten your odds I guess 😉🤔
Go for it Uncle Bill! My aunt was 79 and still playing golf when she had hers done! She was delighted when she could actually see when she teed off! 😊
I wish that I could hut the ball out of sight, there is a disadvantage to having good vision.

Eye eye… One eye at a time.
Mother had it done back in 2002. Chuffed to bits, so she was!

I didn’t fly for years and years – probably at least 30 – because I became convinced that I would be in that one plane that fell out of the sky. And when I did pluck up the courage my first flight – to Venice and ‘onwards’ to the Austro-Italian alps was the smoothest flight ever. The descent from the alps was a gentle downwards float. I wondered what on earth I had been worried about all those years. My anxiety about flying had acquired a growing life of its own over the years. I flew many times after that, only short-haul European flights, the furthest being Madeira and later the Canaries – 4 hours is about my limit.
377169+ up ticks,

Thought I saw a Humming Hawk Moth in the garden on the Abelia
It’s late in the season – they usually like warm weather.
Been warm today
I am sure you did in your part of the world.
Well done, I haven’t seen one this year.
Or perhaps it just didn’t know the words?
Poor Big and Little cat.
Trip to the vet, anaesthetic, and detailed dental examination. (well, I’d not be happy to put fingers into those man-trap like mouths). Both have broken teeth, and both have flaking teeth (a genetic failing in Norwegian Forest Cats).
So, the pair of furry buggers will have to go back for more dental work (sigh!).
Ooh pet! That’s a bit of a b*gger! Veterinary dental stuff certainly ain’t cheap!
Thank God for insurance… 🙂
Do you have full dental coverage. We thought we did, but…
Hope so.
:-((
Ain’t that the tooth.
Catastrophic for the human wallet.
And Little now has a hangover. Poor cat 🙁
Oscar has to be sedated for any veterinary examination. He has fearsome teeth. Fortunately for him, he didn’t need to be seen for his repeat prescription which I collected this afternoon, so only Kadi was present. As he rushed out of the door, I told him, “see, you’ve managed to get out without having anything done!”
I hope your overdraft limit is higher than your overdraught limit.
We walked from our holiday park through the woods in a valley along a lovely track to Mawgan Porth. And took the double decker bus to Newquay. Not a bad place, but as many English holiday resorts now have in common, a bit tired and a bit past it.
On the way back and when the bus pulled into the airport it stood for 10 minutes wobbling in the very strong wind.
We had a delicious lunch of Haddock chowder with home made crusty bread, in a tiny shack of a restaurant. And shared a table with a nice young couple from Surrey.
After we left, we had to rush into Sainsburys to shelter from a sudden heavy down pour. But brought one of my favourites, a south African shiraz 14 % and a Barrosa Chardonnay for Erin.
Almost time for a tasting I’d say.
Be with you in the morning……🤞 hopefully 🍷🍷cheers all.
PS.
It’s still windy here but not any where near as bad as things are further north.
Proper Cornish weather and food.
And the long and winding roads. 😉
Where’s Lacoste?

Strong breeze for 1 hour , we went out at 4pm to the waste tip in Wareham to take the rest of the fallen tree by the time we arrived home before 5pm there was drizzle , then from 5 pm to 6.30pm the wind strengthened and has now backed and slackened off.. clear sky as the evening draws in .
The weather has thankfully missed us , but I do hope people further up country are not too inconvenienced by atrocious weather .
We are 4 miles from the coast , so I guess sheltered coves and bays will be fine , but the hymn Eternal Father strong to save , will resonate with many.
It’s just been dark and dreary most of today – wet on and off but not too windy.
I had to put the light on to read before 18.00. Roll on going back to proper time. It will still be dark, but at least it won’t be an hour ahead of the correct time.
Just try telling Oscar and Kadi it’d not dinner time for another hour.
They will tell me when they think it’s time 🙂
Or you could simply move their meal time by 5 minutes daily for the 12 days leading up to the clock change.
You flatter me by imagining I’m so organised!
Well, you certainly have been good at educating Oscar since you acquired him. Goodnight to both of you – and to Kadi.
Goodnight, Elsie.
Good evening all from blustery Lincolnshire.
This is quite sickening from a bunch of actors etc. reading from a script.

How many mothers and babies or elderly grandmothers have landed on the beaches?
God save us from these sanctimonious ******s – and especially from Benjamin Zephaniah: “OBE me? Up yours, I thought. I get angry when I hear that word ’empire’; it reminds me of slavery, it reminds of thousands of years of brutality, it reminds me of how my foremothers were raped and my forefathers brutalised…”
Pregnant mothers want their babies to be born in the Uk so that they have a right to a passport and citizenship
That’s the truth of it – not forgetting the free healthcare and benefits, of course.
“Entire purpose of visit”, as Churchill jokingly said when asked to fill in a form requesting him to confirm that he had no intentions to destabilise the entire USA nation.
Nowadays he’d be banged up in prison. Jokes are not allowed.
To put this idiocy into perspective:
If a woman arrived at the UN building in New York and gave birth, would that child automatically become a citizen of every member state of the UN?
If not, why should any child born anywhere be entitled to be a citizen of the country where they were born?
Because that is what some countries allow legally. We should certainly stop it.
The ones landing from small craft are not refugees. They embark from a legally safe country and land illegally on the UK’s shores. Where they originate from is totally irrelevant.

Plus: You cannot act. You play yourselves whatever the script or character. You are stupid. Where is Judy Dench?
It’s Judi, Corimmobile, and she also holds woke left-wing views.
One look at her and I thought, “untrustworthy”. I don’t know who it is, but no doubt I’m about to be cancelled.
…
Tice on GB News: the $350 billion of Russian money held by western banks should be used to to buy arms for the Ukies, and then to rebuild Ukraine. Me to rest of world: keep your money out of western banks.
He’s not a great speaker or presenter to be fair.
Nor a great intellect, by the sound of things.
Not a great idea, either.
What a twat.
Fox and Wootton out, Tice in; GB News is being shaped up as controlled opposition.
The more I see of Mark Dolan the less I like him.
Not just rest of world; if you read The Great Taking, probably nobody’s money that’s in the system will be safe if/when* the quadrillions of derivatives come crashing down.
*delete according to personal belief
The derivatives market is huge, but the figure I would like to see is the net “open” position of each participant.
Barings had an enormous (at the time) net open position.
Knowing that for every participant would allow people outside the regulatory environment to make their own judgements about how risky their providers actually are.
Not been on much today, been busy.
When I was up Westmorland and Cumberland, t’other week I came across a quince bush well laden with small fruits in Appleby. After asking the householder in whose garden it was if I could pick some, he thanked me for informing him what it was and told be to help myself!
Also picked a similar amount of small wilding apples from a roadside tree in Culgaith so I’ve done a bloody big pan of quince and apple chutney.
With hindsight, over 4lb of quince was, perhaps a little too much! They took hours to peel and sort out!
Bob ,
I was told that quince had to be ripened by being kept in a bag before they could be used .
They’d been in a bag for over 2 weeks.
Still buggers to deal with and the number of seeds, identical to those of apple or pear, that can be contained in a single plant is rather amazing.
That’s ominous. My wife has about ten pounds of Quince sitting in the fridge waiting to become Quince and apple jelly.
Thankfully not all for us, she is in a group that makes all kinds of preserves that are sold as a fundraiser for the hospital.
Save all the pip and core … hassle’ make quince jelly.
Chop up roughly, cover with water and stew until soft.
Run through jelly bag.
Measure 1lb sugar to 1 pint juice.
(Check whether lemon or pectin is needed – I can’t remember, but I automatically use jam sugar)
Boil until clear and setting.
I simply go to Gunton’s for my quince jelly, Annie. Small cubes of the quince and a soft yellow cheese speared together with a toothpick make for a delicious snack. I used to eat Dulce de Membrillo y Queso (Quince jelly and cheese) in Argentina as a child.

You would honestly think they would know better. Still, even with freeze frame I’m not sure if the croc bit her nose off.
Rather droll!

So accurate. Brilliant.
I didn’t know David Attenborough did commentary gigs outside of the BBC.

How do the robust people of Exeter tolerate and vote for this odiously perverted man?
Right, that’s me off to bed now.
Main job tomorrow is going to be getting the pan of chutney heated up again and put into jars.
When anyone posts a video this keeps showing up at the end. Nice bit of dark humour.

It is a worry, Maggie.
Sir Keir Starmer wants to punish private school parents – here’s how we fight back
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/money/jobs/schools-universities/keir-starmer-private-school-parents-policy-vat-tax/
BTL
The argument that the private schools are being subsidised because they do not pay VAT is nonsense.
In fact all parents who pay taxes and send their children to private schools are subsidising the state education system by paying for it with their taxes and then not using it thereby freeing more places for others.
In France they have this novel idea: if you pay for private education or private medicine with your taxes you do not lose the entitlement for schooling and medical care for which you have paid.
The only reason that Labour wants to punish private schools and those who use them is that they think that British voters are so mean-spirited and spiteful that the politics of envy will prove a great motivating force for them to vote Labour.
Well folks, that’s me for the day. Managed to finish painting the garden shed with Cuprinol; it needed it badly. And there won’t be any more rain until Thursday night at midnight until around 9 am on Friday. So sleep well, chums, and I hope to see you and Sir Jasper’s joke at around 7 am.
Good night all 😴
Goodnight, everyone.
Good morning, all – Thursday’s new page is here.
Thanks Geoff
Thank you!
